Why is everything turned into something sexual now? For those of you who don't know anything about dance, they were checking their turnout at the end. In my opinion, if you turn everything into something sexual and wrong, there is something wrong with YOU!
As a father and grandfather I would say this is dirty to people with dirty minds 😊 as a psychologist I would say this is dirty to you if you are projecting😮
Let’s clarify the fact that these are dancers most likely trying to get scouted, what their wearing is leotards which are normal things dancers wear as a dancer myself we usually wear tights underneath but sometimes people don’t. I personally dont get why people have to sexualize every little thing that looks ever so slightly sexual. They’re literally doing dance moves and the ending was to check turnout as turnout is a major priority in the dance world especially in ballet so sexualizing those dancers let alone minors getting their turnout checked is probably the stupidest thing ever. Personally I don’t get why people have to sexualize every single thing. These dancers are amazing, young and beautiful girls/boys doing exceptionally well in their dance company so save your stupid comments about what they wear and what their doing to yourself if your that clueless. Oh and if it comes to the point of asking yourself “why would their parents allow this” I’ll tell you why. A lot of children start off in dance mainly girls but boys do to its a common occurrence because dance is supposed to be that beautiful type of art. And if you’ve ever been a dancer or had a friend who’s a dancer you would know that they normally wear what those kids in the video are wearing and obviously the parents know as they are the ones who buy them the leotards.
Because they’re cut high. You can have leos that are cut under the hip bone. If you can’t tell if their leg is turned out then you aren’t qualified to critique a dancer.
I 100% don’t agree with you. You have your angle to interpret things but do you really understand the origin of ballet? Instead of asking people not to have second opinions. I suggest you to be open minded.
be that as it may, it is impossible to make clothes more closed. It is very important for the judges to see the work of the dancer's muscles and not a single millimeter of fabric should cover the legs and arms. remember ballet schools. where the selection of children takes place in only underwear
Russian ballet, dancers were incredibly thin, and danced topless in only underwear. As women they were degraded for having breasts. I know a ex Russian dancer
It's scouting. These girls are being chosen for the brutal life of performance dance. Feel bad for them. But yeah, out of context, this video is super creepy.
Why don't we let girls be girls without sexualizing minors? Let them do what they want and support them and protect them from creeps. Stop with this narrative.

@@Vanillafox2its a pose to show flexibility in the hips edit: im a ballet dancer but that was a vague answer, so my bad. its done to show a dancer’s turnout, which does start in the hips, but it also shows the working of the inner thigh and ankle turnout
@@Vanillafox2 ok yes, i hate that title too it’s very gross and misleading. but no, a female and male do the same job, and it’s not disturbing. you are just an outsider to the industry and please stay that way by not spreading your misinformed opinion.
@@Vanillafox2 ok since you’re so stuck on the pose where they are on their backs, those are all male dancers. and genuinely why do you think the community cares if you think its wrong? that we will just stop doing it because you don’t like how it looks?
Ballet is an art form that is made to touch everyone in the audience with beauty. The last pose is not meant to be sexual but to find out who is flexible and will be graceful enough. I did ballet for less than a year. Even as a little one, I'm so rigid, need to work on that, not to be a dancer but to be healthy as I age.
This is gross….. the kids could have worn any other clothes and why couldn’t it be women judges Edit: just finished watching the whole thing WHAT THE CRAP IS THIS!!?????
I get the whole male gaze thing, but this seems like a normal dance in normal leotards to me. Why the clip ends where it does though is beyond me, and kind of makes it something which no doubt wasn't intended.
@julienmihawk2568 ABSOLUTELY, we all know who's watching these videos, DISGUSTING, I DESPISE THIS SO BAD, poor little girls!! Why do their parents permit this?
@@Vanillafox2 It shouldn't make a difference. It is common for dancers to wear leotards, usually with tights underneath in this case they do not which may be the reason you feel unease.
Because that's what the editor of the video wanted you to feel, they said it so you would think it and they got you hook, line and sinker. It's apparently an audition and males are also in dance and can advance in the career to be experts and teachers good enough to pick out the best dancers. There is absolutely nothing Inherently sexual or disturbing about judging their ability which includes the limits of how far they can bend their legs. To see a girl with bent legs and automatically assume something dirty and sexual says more about the person making such comments then those people directly involved.
2 points.. First a very high number of males in ballet are gay so its unlikely to have an attraction motive. second some of these dancers shown are boys. Also the fact that girls and women in just about ALL cultures also dance on their own and for each other shows the misandrist framing of the premise.
Let's get a bit of perspective here. This is a normal dance activity in normal costume and apparently is scouting. Let's try to see and understand the bigger context. Then make a judgement call. The 20 second video ending intentionally makes it seem creepy. Let's ask why only 20 seconds was posted and what was actually going on before, during and after.
@@lowluhT exactly. The video / post is set up to make it look creepy for those that don't know about it. People are falling for it instead of asking what is actually going on beyond the 20 second grab. No wonder the new media can so easily manipulate people!
@julienmihawk2568 ha-ha maybe. My comment was a response to a number of comments rather than the clip itself. Still, I always ask critical questions and never accept things at face value. Either that or I just ignore.
The sexes dancing for each other is older than time. Yes, dancing is explicitly sexual but there is nothing wrong with that unless dancers say it is. In the case of children dancing for men...IDK. I guess parents decide what is and isn't appropriate. Does it matter the gender of the judges or if judges arr gay or straight? Whatever. It is too complicated. Everything is evil or everuthing is fine. Maybe we shouldn't worry about it so much.
People are saying the video itself is “creepy” because of “the way it was cut”? I don’t understand that, it looks like a perfectly normal video! Yes, the description is pretty weird, but could someone explain why the video is creepy? 🧐
Maybe, just maybe and if you look at it, you can see that the premise of the question addresses what is before you... They'll argue that it is customary costume of the genre, but it is historical and historically, women have always been subjugated by men and made to perform for them... But who choses the costuming in the present day? How is it that women dress themselves to flaunt their feminine attributes, but it blames on men if they look/ appreciate that showing of the flesh? (in greater amounts than ever before...) If we are not objects, why do we participate in the traditions of flaunt? (go to any beach if you haven't seen it for yourselves...)
@@Sirryah Actually there is a difference. There are two main differences between a leotard and a swimsuit - their purpose and the fabric they are made from. The purpose of a bathing suit is for swimming and getting wet. The purpose of a leotard is for exercise or dance in a dry environment.
The only reason to be concerned is that a lot of videos of gymnastics, dancers, contortion, etc, get the most views when they consist of children doing moves that are completely normal, but are often sexualized (ex: middle splits or wearing tight/revealing clothing to perform in) It's not inherently sexual, but it is important to recognize it can be perceived that way, and posting kids online doing things like that can attract creeps, and we have to stay vigilant to keep them out of that space.
Arby's is very good, get the Arby's sauce to go with the roast beef and the curly fries. If they have them, their strawberry shakes are amazing. Unfortunately, that's not often.
eh no, as far as I know, ballet was a dance style that was specifically only for men at the old days and then gradually turned more towards women over time. plus this video seems clear to me to be some kind of audition or show of their talent
@@ivuriexo If you can see all that on a male child with a leotard and leggings, there’s literally no reason for this not to apply to little girls as well.
@@Sarawarawara- the last clip is all boys, and they are not wearing tights. boys will almost always wear tights during a performance, but it varies for each individual and company during classes- and like i said in this case they are showcasing their lines, muscles, technique, etc for the purpose of being scouted.
I'm getting a lot of comments saying their children, and it's okay. But it's not. I wouldn't want my child if i ever have any up there like that in front of men. It's almost visible showing their private parts to grown men. Sry, but that's how I see it plz no hate here. It's just me thinking if I had I kid, I wouldn't allow that.
I'm a man,it might be maybe,I think those girls are beautiful, I would think every one would think there beautiful, isn't dancing supposed to be for everyone,I think the girls dress that way, because they want to look as beautiful as they can,but even if they were wearing jeans 👖,it would still be beautiful
“Why is classical dance the way it is and why is there such an emphasis on hip flexibility?” might be a more palatable version of this question. There’s an essay called “the ballerina’s phallic pointe” that seriously investigates this question.
Not true it's for women. Open a women's magazine and see women. Think of all you see with children it's for women. Just because they are taught to deny temptation doesn't mean they don't love it in factual life.
Ok, this video is very creepy but what is going on is somewhat normal. The girls are wearing leotards which is what dancers and gymnasts wear at practice, performances and in this case auditions. It is normal for there to be male judges/scouts but I can understand how this may seem creepy to some people.
