I love the effort you put into these videos. I was on the fence on playing this game but you broke this down into little segments that I can source for some arguments I have for QOL in other games. Thank you Geekseh
I played alot of tarkov and DMZ and this is a great in between. More complex than DMZ, but more simple than tarkov. I look forward to the future of this.
This is my first extraction shooter and it wasn't overwhelming, at first anyway. I wasn't planning on playing a lot or expected to like it at all. But think I'm going to look more into it after release.
The weapons and attachments aren't actually straightforward, it is actually pretty complex and deals with a lot of hidden stats that you don't particularly notice at first. There is actually two sets of stats the first being numeric stats the second being bar graph stats clearly the numerical stats show down on the bottom the number percentages while the bar graph at the top actually shows hidden stats and that's not to mention when you actually go into the modular parts of your gun and calibrate them.
UI wise, it reminds me of gacha games to an extent of having a bunch of little tiny different tabs for different things. other than that there are also a lot of things to like about it
Ive found if you mark stuff on the map while you are loading into the game it crashes the game, as soon as i stopped marking on the map on the loading screen ive not crashed a single time
I got two suggestions for spawns. 1.having more possible spawn points than teams to a lobby. For example a map for 15 teams having 25 points where a team or solo's could spawn. Make it random every match. Zero certainty all you can know is where people might have spawned. 2. Not every spawn piont must be at the edge of the map.
I am shocked nobody has mentioned the audio for the footsteps. In all the gameplay videos I have seen the sound of the footsteps seem extremely loud and annoying. It sounds like a bunch of horses clopping around on cement. It needs to be dialed down a bit because you can hear other players coming from so far away.
I like the UI! The game is great but you nailed it complaining about the spawns. The first map is small like Ashika so it'll take some fine tuning. I do think TTK is a bit too quick. I'd like a plate system like DMZ had. Adds thrill to the middle of battle and can add a bit more durability. They would have to rework the entire armor system so that would be a nightmare and I get if they modify the one now.
I can't understand why they make a super complex bullet penetration mechanic like Tarkov and Arena Breakout, but they make the combat a arcade firefight like CoD Warzone... The 2 things are not exactly fun together.. They sould had gone in the Arena and Tarkov path ..
Have you experienced any of the "bot" squads? I love this game so far, but almost every other match in the extraction mode has me dying to a squad that runs directly towards me to the extent they are sprinting into walls and obstacles, then when i see them i get beamed and 2 tapped. they don't even show up via the targeting arrow. They need to get on top of the cheaters before full release, else this game is fucked
Ability Shooters are just ass... yet still this game has still something going for it. Looting doesnt feel good, prob the worst of the 3 (EFT, DMZ), questing doesnt feel good (random shit...you complete one get two more similar random quest u just did) but the game is still kinda fun. its not badly done, maybe it can get somewhere in the future. I d still rate it way below DMZ and EFT.
The heroes dont feel overpowered???? I wish we had PAIK from 2042 and not whatever the chinese ninja girl has, holy triple wallhack batman... Actually scratch that, the game needs to get rid of half of the shit that lets you see through walls.
