Love that you made this kind of video for newer fans! I see this kind of talk going on with GG ending, but even then there’s still anime stuff coming out. You mentioned the 02 film coming up, but 2020 and GG are in different stages of getting English dubs so it’s definitely true to say this is not a “break”.

Honestly, as a long time fan, I still feel this fear. I know the card game is going strong along with the upcoming projects and Seekers. I'm just a bit scared we wont have an actual ongoing anime for a while though and Bandai doesnt love treating Digimon well.

Absolutely agree with your comments on the vpets. Having only played with Tamagotchis as a kid, I got in to the Digimon Vpets during the pandemic after being encouraged by my husband and channels like yours, Humulos, DigitalDream09, and Traxtal. And after starting with the DM20s, I branched out and imported the Pendulum Zs, the Japanese DMXs 1-3, the english DMXs, and finding a pretty good deal to get all of the Pendulum 20s & imported the Digimon Colours. I would honestly say the vpets are my favourite aspect and they’re so much fun to run alongside something like the Vital Bracelet BE because the gameplay on either are so different!

A returning fan here. Loved it in the 90s when I was a kid. But I have found myself yearning to learn about all the stuff I missed out on. I started Cybersleuth and the TCG which are both a blast. I have found the TCG has made me very excited to check out all the series I missed because there are so many tamers and Digimon that I were unfamiliar with but fascinated by their design. Also where can I read that manga? Is it just fan translated or was that every printed in English?

don't worry about the digimon story game, I'm 99% sure it's coming soon, If I had to bet, i'd say It will get announced later this year, the story game has been in development since 2017/2018, if you look up interviews from 2018 habu kazumasa (the producer) said he was working on the Story game with the ps4 as the base platform. Survive begun production at the same time since that game according to him was supposed to be a side project to make time the digimon story game, survive was supposed to be just a passing title. In the Anime Expo 2019 habu said they were still working on the story game, he even said people will love the characters but he couldn't say much about it, he was promoting survive after all during that time, when survive finally released the month after he mentioned in an interview that digimon currently had two main line of games, the story games and the world games, since now they stopped working for portable consoles (quick reminder that both cyber sleuth and next order were both vital titles in japan that got ported to the ps4 in the west), games from the main line would take in average 5 years in production, having that in consideration the story game begun production in 2017/2018, I assume the game is in its final stage of production, if not finished already. Maybe they are waiting for the perfect moment to announce it. Just to mention, in that later interview habu said that he has multiple game projects in the pipeline, some of the like survive, minor projects to make time for big titles and not make fans waiting for years for new games.

Have they officially released an English version of V-Tamer 01? I know there was the Fan-Translated one online, but past that I don't know a way to check it out.

There is a Digimon Adventure 2020 English dub coming out this spring and Ghost Game is being dubbed in English as well. You've already mentioned the 02 movie that is coming. I think it'll be a while before we need to worry about Digimon "dying" so to speak.

I got into Digimon with the DM20 around 2021 and I've kinda stuck with the V-Pets since then. I think the biggest nail in the coffin is localization for the V-Pets. By the time they're released overseas, Japan has already moved on to something entirely different. If maybe they started going for simultaneous worldwide releases that could help a lot. And then there was the whole motherboard swap with the Overseas X2. They fixed it but it's still a bad look. Then there's the whole Vital Bracelet Arena fiasco. I didn't hesitate to pre-order the BE but the VBA just dropped the ball so hard. And as far as we know, there's no release date on the major update. So I wouldn't say it's dying but certainly off-track. I think they just need to slow down a little and make sure their products are up to standard and make sure us overseas customers aren't being left behind.

I've gotten into digimon thanks to DMX ver.2 and Cyber Sleuth Complete Edition.

How do you read the manga. I can only find it physically, and it’s either really expensive or only in Japanese.

Im getting my son into the series he is 7 now and he loves digimon ! Im glad the adventure remake has a dub now as he has been enjoying the original 99 and the dub of 2020 we are olaying next order on switch and have two x digivces. Also starting to collect the cards...as a fan since 9byearls old back in 99 im glad to see digimon has continued and i want it to stay strong

Card games always get a lot of complaints, you can never please everyone. Yes the meta currently is fairly aggressive but the next set shakes things up alot and overall the current meta and the next couple moving forward are very diverse, but again people like to complain its nothing new if you have been around tcgs for a long time. The limit on the bt11 greymon was a lot more impactful than people give it credit for and helps keep greymon decks moving forward from being overtuned. Well anyways game is fun and meta is way healthier than people give it credit for, at least it isn't yugioh or current competitive magic(which is practically non existant nowadays).

I have been a fan of Digimon since 2000. I grew up with og Adventure. I too never got big into the games until recently. In fact Cyber Sleuth was the first Digimon game I bought like 3 years ago. So it was already an older game at that point. The anime, transforming toys, and digivices were my go to. The new card game I got into for a bit but now I am taking a break from it. I do hope we get more games and series in the near future.

My wife and I have recently been looking into digimon. Last night we watched the 2020 movie and we both loved it. Weve bought each other cards and i bought cyber sleuth and I'm waiting to play it. Also bought the Vital Bracelet to see how it works. From an outside perspective digimon is intimidating as it has such a long history across multiple media's. There's always the stress of having to decide where to start first. That's why we chose the movie to see if we liked it. Digimon is awesome and the community has certainly scored 2 new fans, even if there isn't a big community where we live. But in the movie there were only like 300 digidestined so maybe that's why haha. I don't think digimon is dying just that people have to spread their time and money across too much media that some get prioritised more then others. Love digimon and look forward to exploring it more.

One more thing I have basically watch all of the digimon series anime If anything frontier is "Good" it alright I hated it when I was younger cuz they changed it TO much for me now that I look at it it alright I think if you just give it a chance watch a couple of episodes at least finish a season of idk 25 episodes of you don't like it at that point don't watch it it more of just giving the character Abit of a chance an understanding that digimon rely on the whole scanner part aka the d tector But I do agree Savers, frontier, 01 (or....I guess the reboot to) work as a good starting point since both of them kinda explain a lot about the digimons an the digimon world Savers is like a digimon ghost game with MORE info about the digital world if you get my drift Though if your a fan of the card game an you just want to know where the card game idea started with plus the previous card game of digimon TCG was like than yeah watch tamers do the research about it on wikimon

Who knows. But what does dead mean. I’m sure a lot of people would say it has been dead for a while, but it has a strong fan base.

Dying? Nah. The TCG is doing great, Seekers is pretty good. We're getting new electronics and more games probably on the way in the mean time.

I honestly don't think digimon is dying because it's got its own ups and downs. Digimon survive did suffer a bit, and the the Fandom seemed to heavily be against horror visual novels. Also do keep this nugget in mind. It's not a light hearted series like pokemon.

Digimon might not be objectively dying, but in terms of quality, it REALLY does feel like it at this point. The franchise has barely produced anything of real noteworthy value in over a decade (haven't played the new card yet, in case anyone is curious). Doesn't help that the IP itself is depressingly mishandled.

I don't think it is "dying", but rather being *severely mismanaged by Bandai/Toei Animation.* The way to "correct" the path for the Digimon franchise, IMO, is to: 1) *Consistently* release NEW Digimon games at least every 2 years or so (even if it they do a new game -> remake -> new game -> remake pattern like Pokemon, it's fine). 2) *Properly market* those future Digimon games (they did a POOR job marketing recent Digimon games and I think they can learn from *Capcom* when they marketed *MHS 2).* 3) Release BETTER Digimon anime with *BETTER story-telling* like older Digimon animes (the last 2 Digimon animes were HORRIBLE and didn't have a coherent story overall). 4) Release more *official Digimon merchandise* (ESPECIALLY *shirts)* and make them available worldwide (I'm forced to *import* everytime I want an official Digimon product). 5) Do more *collaborations* with other well-known franchises (loved the "Digimon x Medabots" collab, but would like to see a *"Digimon x Pokemon"* collab someday).
