Today’s Outlets at San Clemente retail delivery shift is a great one - pick up from Tilly’s and delivery to Lake Forest; since I live in Mission Viejo that definitely works out.
Flex is the best side hustle app. You get guarantee pay and 9 times out of 10 you are done your shift early, so you are really making more per hour if you think about it. I also like how if you arrive at the warehouse and there are not shifts; you still get paid. The cons are that you don't know your route and I also think its a little more wear and tear on your car compared to food delivery. Amazon flex is way more stop and go.
But... say you have 35 deliveries, and finish early... tomorrow you gonna get 45 deliveries for same time frame. Say you finish that early... tomorrow you gonna get 49 deliveries and some high-rise apartments that they know have access problems. IT NEVER STOPS.
@@pamelaweber4479 ♡ I absolutely feel ya! It's so frustrating, and to then be treated like it's your fault. It's exhausting. Keep your head up!!♡ Don't let them tear you down. You are amazing ♡♡♡
Thank you just depends on location. Because I live in Southern California. And I work 45 hours a week. Doing doordash and amazon flex and I make a systemly two thousand dollars a week. Also helps to have another hustle as well like real estate that I do on the side that provides another eighty to a hundred thousand a year. Where you live is going to determine how much money you want to make. Because if I live in the midwest, then I wouldn't have to make so much money.
The pay has dropped by half in my area. it was only marginally worth it at $30 an hour due to huge miles in a rural area, but now at $15/hr I'M OUT. Erased the app off my phone
Don’t forget you deduct your mileage while driving for taxes. So even if you have to drive some distance you are still making money with the IRS mileage deduction. In 2024 it’s 67¢/mile so every 100 miles you drive you get to deduct $67 for taxes. It adds up
Haven't been able to get a block for 3 weeks. Guessing they brought on too many new people for the holiday season. If you're going to rely on this for income, don't bother!
EXACTLY I WAS DOING 4 DAYS NOW I AM DOING 3 I DO HAVE A SIDE HUSTLE SELLING ONLINE . THEY BRING IN ALL THE NEW THIRSTY SLAVES BECAUSE THEY WORN OUT THE OLD ONES . ITS TOO MUCH
IMO 100% worth it. I've finished nearly every block I've done early. A 4 hr block in 1 was my best. I've earned up to $94/hr based upon how quickly I've completed blocks. If you're in even decent physical shape, know how to drive well, & are fully aware of your surroundings when moving yourself and your vehicle, it's extremely easy.
@@RobertEdits Correct and safety while driving and on foot is just as important as speed and efficiency. Lots of really stupid and crazy people everywhere.
Most people are literally brain dead and I’ll see them STILL scanning each package individually while I scan my stuff all at once and leave the warehouse within 10 minutes.
I caught your review of Nuggs first shift. Your video disappeared before I could leave a comment. I would be interested in you reviewing the Amazon Whole Foods runs which allows you to receive the tips as well.
My block just yesterday was picked up at the warehouse and my next stop was 44 miles away. One night I ended up paying tolls. It's not worth it to me. The miles on your car and the amount of gas you put in...all you're doing is getting your gas money back. It's a rip off.
Now they have this captcha challenge which prevents you from getting routes. I don't use bots, so I feel it's unfair for those of us that are getting routes without violating their policy.
I have never had a captcha...You only get one if they suspect you are using a tapper or bot...My son got busted and got a warning...He uses a tapper...He still uses one but is more careful...I'm too scared...But it is impossible to get the good paying routes.😢
How do I get activated with flex . I’ve been deactivated upon sign up because I have a personal prime acct and I sign up using business email. Customer service won’t budge and it’s always a generic message
They used to be worth it until people who can't speak English and out of state drivers came in and started accepting base rate. Very low pay now. after Some days it's like 3 dollars an hour. OK side hustle where the high miles might benefit you. If you're that person you might have a bigger problem. Stop Rat Racing with every Karen and Jason . Dammit Clarence
I doubt they would ever give out the routes or people would cherry pick even more. Just like with all Gig apps, the barrier for Entry is low, so that means once folks learn about , the base rate goes to garbage, and the newbies who don't know any better get taken advantage of. I'm lucky because I have an EV and overall I keep more of my money because maintenance costs are near nothing. I'm even more fortunate because it's new and I have warranties to cover all those miles. The Best example of the routes being so variable is exactly what happened to me yesterday. Portland to Salem , Oregon. I logged 159 miles, 44 packages , 44 stops, 4.5 hours , $153. With traffic, I got done just in time. Overall it sucked , but I also had done the same exact route for $83 and 24 packages. Mike needs to document one of these long haul trips so folks can see what "that" side of Amazon Flex looks like 😂.
Every time I see these guys, while I'm delivering mail, I ask them to come work for the post office. You are set for life as a carrier... and, you don't have to deliver a parcel or mail if you're endangered by a dog. I have cut off delivery permanently to customers with mean dogs. They have to put a mailbox out by the sidewalk or rent a PO Box. We are guaranteed 8 hours a day and 40 hours a week, and plenty of OT is available. Most carriers think they are working too many hours rather than not enough. You drive a postal truck and the post office pays for the gas. You carry the same route every day after you become regular. The health insurance is excellent and you get a pension. If you're forced to wait for mail or parcels, you are on the clock and getting paid. Etc, etc.
I wish but have to work around the kids' schedule. Wish I could get benefits with flexible mom hours but I doubt i can work enough for benefits. I have special needs kids so it gets complicated. Amazing opportunity though!
@angelalarson6750 I'm in the same boat. 5 kids that are on the autism spectrum with lots of therapies and school. I used to be a full time truck driver, but not anymore because of my children's schedules. Amazon flex is so much more flexible for me.
I loved doing flex in 2021-22. You could make $150+ days less than 6hours. Those 3 hour blocks I had I always finished them in 1hr30 easily and book another session after.
I feel this might be just from the holiday rush but Amazon Flex is absolutely killing everyone else on GridWise stats, it's not even close so if this continues going to let that do the talking and sign up, thanks for the preview of what to look forward to!
It’s worth it. Don’t listen to the negativity. I net $24/hr and work under 25 hours a week. Nobody will hire me anywhere so until I get a degree and find a job above $24/hr, then I’m on easy street for a while.
Hey Mike... I love watching your video updates on side hustles... I used to love Flex... I have made bank doing just a 2 hour Whole Foods shift.. Too many drivers in my area now... I do still turn on the Option to grab an instant offer if I am Dashing nearby a Whole Foods...
Don’t mind it if the pick-up is 30 minutes away and the drop-off literally takes you close to home, as I got about a week and a half ago from Irvine to Mission Viejo - those are fun. It’s when the drop-offs go north when you need to go south to get home, east when you need to go west to get home, etc. that are the big problems.
Don’t know if they brought more drivers or what but Amazon Flex sucks right now the past month of November there were no orders December yeah there’s orders that mainly retail it’s not like we’re not getting any warehouse orders
My friend was talking to me about Amazon. A lot of these deliveries services especially amazon are getting over on Drivers. Paying so close to to the minimum wage to where it's just enough to be legal. Not compensating for mileage and car wear and tear they are maximizing profits paying $20-30 per hour is really not worth it after gas, oil changes, fees, insurance. All for the benefit of the shareholders, not the drivers.
My dad brought that up as well but I do it once an awhile to make some extra cash when someone watches my twins. But I don’t think I would do it full time but a side hustle to bring in some extra money for my twins.
@@Metal_junk not when your operating a vehicle with regular oil maintenance, and gas requirements and. It does not add up, Especially with customers not rewarding drivers with tips.
@@500KLA I net $22-$29/hr after gas consideration. Minimum wage where I live is $7.50 so this is more than enough to make a living off of for a few years. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a job that I’m qualified for that pays more that $18/hr so why would I jeopardize my mental health again mass applying to jobs to no avail like I did earlier in the year? Learn how to work on your own vehicle, it will save you a lot of money in the long run. I’m still trying to do that myself. There’s simple things you can do yourself like tire replacement and rotation, oil changes too. You wouldn’t be able to survive in my state with your wage expectations, by the way.
Hey Mike, I have been doing amazon Flex because of your videos. it's been amazing. I realize that there are two types of amazon runs. Same sub Delivery and the routes that you show, where you scan the QR code. Well, the last one, I don't like it that much, I can get a 3 hour block with 40 packages sometimes and gigantic boxes BECAUSE THE WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE SEES THAT I'M DRIVING A VAN WITH PLENTY OF ROOM, I guess the choose their victim or that's how I felt. So, that's why I only do Same-Sub Delvieries. They dont know what you are driving. You pick your cart and scan it however you want.
Last week I got 40 dollar tip on a 25 dollar base pay Whole Foods delivery. It took me 45 min to complete from pickup to delivery, 12 items/bags. It was a very good one 65 dollars in about an hour. Not all of them are like that though most of them are 10 dollars on tips.
Too many miles with flex based on the drive from the warehouse to the zone to deliver in and then commute back home. People get too hung up on per hour when it's per mile that really counts.
Yes this is true I watched a video about DoorDash and the guy said you should be making a dollar a mile. So if you have to drive 20 miles you should be making 20 dollars. I have done DoorDash and drove for 14 miles and made 5 dollars😭
You have to pay for your own gas. Here, they offer a base offer of $68 for 4 hours. You put in $20-30 in gas and drive far away. Yes, you can claim mileage on your taxes.... But that's a whole year! Im in Wisconsin. It's not worth it unless they offer more money
@@trkeiser1 Maybe where you live. With Flex I still make about $24-$28/hr after considering gas and vehicle expenses. For 4 hour blocks I usually drive less than 80 miles round trip. Besides, you have to pay for your own gas for commuting to every single job on earth anyways.
Basically all i heard you say was its good, its bad, but its good but i dont like this but its good side hustle. You are riding the fence hard on this video. Almost confusing as to where you stand on this. ??/
For me it sucks because the amount of packages and distance has only increased in the last 3 years I've been doing this. Yeah sure I can still get high surge blocks but now there's alot more driving involved thus more risk. I can't take the risk anymore so that's why I'm done with Flex this year.
Man once the warehouse near me started getting us out like 1 hr after the block started. I stopped...that was a year ago and i haven't done a block since 😂 I'm not trying to wait no more and they may have fixed that but man that left a mental scar on me 😂😂😂😂😂
Sir do you track your miles? If so, why do you track it? And what does it even do? Does it just save you money or something? Do you pay a lot when you file your income tax? I’m confused but I wanna learn.
Its something for taxes...as a 1099/independent contractor no taxes are withheld like a W2 employee...so you have to report it to get the most out your taxes so you can get more money out of your tax return
About a hour South of me. They do whole foods amazon and it's like 70$ with the tips in just 2 hours. You have to watch your screen closley though bc they get snagged up FAST!!!!
I just recently signed up for Amazon flex and I love it. I also do food delivery, but there is always a downtime in my area. With Amazon flex I’m always guaranteed income.
Completely agree- knowing the route would make me want to work more. My van can't hack some of the hills, which makes me hesitant to take the long routes.
I do amazon flex in seattle area, they got two warehouses that offer blocks from 3hrs to 5 hrs. At $24 minimum per hour, so they have a bunch of $120 blocks offered. I'll pick those up and be finished and home within in 3hrs of my start, sometimes 4hrs, with a total mileage of usually 60-90miles. Routes vary, but most of the time they're fine. Out of every 10 blocks I pick up, maybe 1 or 2 would be difficult/headache. During surge prices, they'll offer between $130-$180, sometimes up to $250. Most in picked up a block for was $249. This is only side one I'll do, everything else is horrible.
Nice content… haven’t finished yet but I’m not seeing any content on Gross to Net pay…. Out of pocket cost… etc…. Maybe you have another video on this?
How did you get on flex they have had me on the aitlist for a year or more.. and even got a email they changed their app to download new app bit it still seems to worm on showing me the I'm on the waitlist on the original app.. I just really wanna have the option
Mike You have to look at the wear a tear on your vehicle plus you’re probably gonna have to put gas just to do the 3 or 4 hour run, Plus NO TIPS with Amazon. With A grocery orders and fast food might not be as much but you have a better opportunity to Get fast $$ and if you live in California we get Prop 22 & there’s always extra pay on some apps, With Amazon flex it’s straight forward 40pkg for 85$ and you probably gonna drive 80 to 100miles and you don’t get no extra pay and no Prop 22 and no Tips not worth it.
Does anyone do Flex in NYC with a vehicle? Can’t find any company’s that offer ride share insurance. Heard you need commercial auto insurance, having trouble with that. Any info from NYC people as to what they do for insurance appreciated!
My only complaint if you are in a market with a lot of traffic and apartments it is a killer. If they could give an extra 1 hour to complete it would be great.
Flex in my area is so saturated with drivers, it barely surges over base pay for many of the blocks. They also changed the programming to where it's nearly impossible to get back-to-back blocks- as it seems they won't send any offers within 30 minutes of the listed end time of a block- even if you've delivered all packages and are within vicinity of the station BEFORE the actual block end time. Doubling commuting miles and dead time between routes. I love driving Flex but it has been horrible this year, even before Christmas. Pay has fallen by at least 30%, if not more. Granted, the weather has been exceptionally mild this year in my area.
Excellent assessment!... Flex has enough verticals to find something that makes sense to each. Things I like: _Whole Foods_ $60-80 for a 10 mile, 2hr block _Amazon Pharmacy_ - small packages, no returns but long rural mileage (usually end near my house) Things I don't: _Same Day_ midtown routes to secured high-rise apts with code(or virtual) entry/lockers for unresponsive recipients. _Prime_ DSP leftovers- 3hr, "30" mile routes that leave me stranded 75 miles in the dark Texas wilderness on the business end of a sawed-off _Browning_ 12 gauge 😫 Honorable mention: the difficulty of aquiring desirable blocks without bot script or auto clicker.....😣
I was on the waiting list for 8 months. It is definitely worth the wait though as I have been consistently making $100 from completing 4 hour blocks in 3 hours.
As the Amazon Flex driver is getting bad out here in Orlando all we got are retails anymore and they’re not even in Orlando and we don’t have much of the grocery orders. This is the retail out of Orlando I can in Merritt Island, Melbourne or Melbourne. It’s nuts out here for Flex. It probably because all the prime vans they got, they used to be really good in their holidays
Totally disagree. 2 years ago DoorDash was the go to money maker. But certainly not in 2024 compared to Amazon Flex. Especially when you add in the Whole Foods deliveries. The money just isn’t there with DoorDash anymore, and 2024 will continue to have declining base pay. Yes DoorDash has more verticals but that doesn’t translate to more money at the end of the workday. You’d think it would, but it doesn’t when compared to Flex cash flow.
