i mean driveless trains, cars, delivery-cars and taxis have a future but drons isn´t, because it has a lot problems but the principal if error appers occurs the drone can hit someone or worst they can provoce a car crash accident
There is one issue with drone delivery the same thing that exists with helicopter travel. It’s just easier to deal with a broken truck vs a flying object that is now falling
Helicopter and delivery drone are 2 entirely different things. Helicopter weight is in tons, drones in 10-15 pounds. Plus drone are powered by a battery and electromotors, they are far less complex than helicopter.
Have you seen terrible car crashings???? It doesn't mean that cars are suck!! And you have to take them all away.... It means that you have to be careful will driving and keep all the road rules....
@@cjam7298 Yh but a drone is more unpredictable and can land literally anywhere. A truck is probably always on a road and will collide with another car. Drone could land into dry grass and cause wildfires with its lithium battery exploding or cause an entire apartment building to go up in flames or hit a car or school
@@ahmedo7875 or a drone could land on a truck and then that truck smashes into a drone warehouse, sending hundreds of other drones flying into other trucks. and repeat.
Oh jeez. He actually said: "zero point zero five cents per mile" when five *cents* per mile was shown on screen. Someone is innumerate. Never mind; he's only out by two orders of magnitude.
Why don't drones have parachutes or something to minimize the impact of falling from the sky. Seems inevitable that it would cause great safety concerns for humans and the environment at scale. Love the concept but we need to find ways to make them safer and lose public trust before it can even be earned.
It’s not practical really considering most customers will be in densely populated areas and the margin for error for a drone to malfunction will be really low and any problems could have bad effects like hitting buildings and people
@@ahmedo7875 I agree that it isn't for densely populated area but it could really be helpful in remote areas or less populated area where you won't get basic things easily.
Are you aware that would be considered an act of terrorism? Not hating or anything. Just curious. My understanding is that the drones are going to be classified as aircrafts and shooting them down would be considered an act of terrorism.
i knew the tech was nowhere near the level of being autonomous, even with human pilots its not feasible. there may be places it can be implemented, but there are so many limitations. for example if you have large apartment buildings, drones couldnt deliver to them, unless there was a specific group drone drop off, where the tenant would come down & get it, which presents a host of other issues. you dont need to be a genius to see the challenges that are presented with this, which is why amazon dropped it
Not practical for delivery of everyday items and using them for such is doomed for failure. Too many risks, too many lawyers, too many weather variables and no problem being solved. Let me know when one of these drone delivery companies turn a profit by delivering everyday items. How long will investors continue to throw money at a problem that doesn't exist? I'm quite certain we have delivery of everyday items within 6 miles of a major retailer figured out.
Widespread Drones delivery will harm birds population. As well Delivery drones will collide with Passenger Drones ..... Broken drones will fall down to people and property, damaging these. Many problems will appear soon.
Also people will definitely try to steal no way this is practical. Imagine: An amazon drone fell from the sky and killed 2 people. The reality is that billionaires want to become more richer by automating everything and removing humans from the equation. Salaries = big loss for companies. Think about it why did they even try to make this drone service a thing when it has the potential to damage, harm, kill, its obvious that Jeff Bezos don't care.
To the genius individuals that think "shoot them down and steal the prize" how the fuck is your DNA still in circulation? C'mon Darwin awards, let's get rid of all these safety labels
