I absolutely love this podcast and you lot. Been a biker (on and off) for many years, but never got into MotoGP till 3 years ago, but your podcasts have really helped me get up to speed and get the most out of this sport...
Interesting take. But in any case with Lorenzo it could have continued while Ducati say Lorenzo should have waited till Assen while Lorenzo point of view is that Ducati didn't had the trust. With Marc, I don't think will be the case as he already got adjusted to Ducati now so I don't think it will backfire. Only way I could see is that by going behind Marc they will loose Pecco in 2026 and once again will prove they are very bad at riders management which Casey also mentioned.
I 100% agree with Jack. The time is now to get Joe to MotoGP if they want the American fan club. He's got the grit and the want, ya gotta send him for a PR purpose if nothing else. Motorcycle racing in America is so small, that it could boost interest back in bike racing. I don't know the racing scene in England, but a British rider couldn't hurt. Fans of these two countries are sick of seeing all the good opportunities going to Spanish or Italians. They are so big cause the best class is full of riders to pick from.
@@cdmc012599 wasn’t always the way. Was once the opposite. But the Spanish love the sport and so they invested in it when Dorna took over. Other countries should do the same, it’s not hard to start feeder series, but they don’t
Why? Bez has won races before, yes he is struggling this year but is that more the change with the Michelin tyres. Hope they both gel ( Diggi on what ever he goes too ) could he be staying at Vr46? He has shown he is a top rider.
Massively underrated I agree, sure Bez has 3 wins to Diggia’s 1 win but he’s outperformed him this year by some margin. I wanted to see Diggia on that Factory Aprilia
Mainly around his inability to adapt to the tyre and different characteristics of the bike mate. The very best can do that as you know and it has to be a slight concern that he’s not whereas Digia has. Still rate Bez but not unsure how he will go changing to the Aprilia
Even though the other manufacturers are improving, so is Ducati they keep moving the goalposts and there is supposedly a lot more to come Ducati will more than likely dominate until the rule changes
To all those crying about Ducati's recent success, remember this: Honda and Yamaha won the constructors title every year from 1983 to 2007 (16 of those to Honda).
Japanese engineering has been over rated for years. they hire the best alien riders to make up for inferior bikes . Ducati is getting tired of having best tech/ engineering only to have dorna ban ducatis superior tech/engineering because the japanese cannot be competitive . Look at the hondas record ... without marquez the honda has been a back marker for the last decade . These new rules are just because of japanese inferiority . With these new rules briggs and stratton can make a competitive bike .. Japanese never deserved concesions , and thE JAPANESE budget is DOUBLE that of the euro teams . ... LET THE MANUFACTURE WITH THE BEST/STRONGEST ENGINEERING/TECH WIN NO MATTER WHERE THEY ARE FROM .
People seem to underestimate pecco, marquez is coming to the last part of his career pecco is coming into his prime with room to improve as he has had not so good starts to this season and the last so if he can get the results from the off he will be unbeatable next year
Pecco often doesn't get respect from the masses that he does from all other riders and ex rider pundits etc. Maybe he's not quirky or controversial enough. When he wins, the moaners complain its.because he has the best bike, and when he crashes, it's because he can never handle pressure😂
Nah, more like people are actually underestimating how Marc had to adapt massively with a new bike this year and yet with a year old bike still able to achieve those results, next year we'll see the true comparison on equal bikes
Yamaha may improve sooner than people might think. Not saying they will for sure but they are loading up with talent. They are capable of building a competitive bike. Will be interesting to watch.
MM had a bad weekend. His speed was quicker than pecco and martin on the same bike last year. He was still up around the top 5. Nothing to get worried about. Marc is a true champion who will make a statement at sachsenring
Track house should put Roberts in the team, and I would put Miller beside him.. With that line up it would definitely up the interest from the US and drag some new interest..
@gixxerlemans yes Joe is a gamble, but so is Aldagare and so was Acosta...Quattararo came from Moto2 with less wins than Roberts and he did ok.. If you want to open up the US market for Motogp you need to have a Yank riding, the only one available for the next 10 years is Roberts.. give him a guaranteed 2 years and see what happens, if he fails then he goes away.. does look like Pramac will have Miller on their bike next year if rumours are to be believed...
Era of dominance over after watching pecco destroy the field the past 5 race (6 almost if it weren't for the sprint blunder in spain) don't think so. 2026 though with the reg changes always gives an opportunity for one brand to get it right and the rest to get it wrong. Question is though, is an older Mm worth both Enea and Martin? I mean Digi was a match for Mm this weekend on the GP23 too. I can see Mm excelling in flag to flag or wet races for sure, but overall he isn't going to have it all his own way, there is some seriously fast riders who'll be pushing him hard and even the greats as we saw with Rossi, all slow down, not to forget the looming threat that is Acosta who's probably duc's biggest future headache if ktm can put a bike together, should be fun
Thanks for the Podcast it was excellent. Ai Ogura isn't happy with third. I didn't hear any complaints on the weekend. I bet Joe Roberts wishes he was there.
Did everyone get sick of Hondas winning all the time in their era or Yamaha winning all the time in their era . Remember what comes around goes around . Enjoy how good a champion team is who has put in the time money and has gotten the due rewards.
Happy that Ducati, KTM, KTM Tech 3 and Aprilia are willing to put top riders in their teams, regardless of potential "two roosters" in the hen house problems. Such a contrast when you look at Red Bull in F1 refusing to sign a great driver and instead sign Perez.
I see the problem with teams like Ducati making the rules. They come up with ride height devices, holeshot etc and everyone just goes along with it and they try to play catch up. There should be consultation for fundamental changes to the design of a motorbike, as all the bikes need to be re engineered and made unnecessarily complex. Well done Yamaha for partnering up with Pramac.
Ducati don’t make the rules, all manufacturers have to agree to rule changes Ducati worked within the rules that were already there, the very first bit of aero was actually introduced by Yamaha when they added a deflector for the rear wheel, and that started the whole thing
Shame the rumors around Toprac didn't get some coverage - because it does now seem as though he wants to get to a competitive Moto GP ride sooner rather than later. Personally I would love to see what he can do in that class. Best option might be a works Aprilia in the Trackhouse team - what do you think?
Would have loved to have seen him join on a satellite team after his 2021 title but Kenan was holding firm for a factory ride. The reality is that if he had entered on a satellite team (all of which are now good) and made the impact people think he would make, then he's be in a factory team by now!
Joe Roberts is the real deal. And I’m not American. Such a shame but that was a heavy prang. As were so many at Assen, as always. Terribly injurious track.
One last thing, why is the media so critical of Marc right now? If he makes one mistake he is crucified for it. I hate the guy, but we have to remember this is only the 6th or 7th race on the bike ever. Against guys that's been on is 6 to 7 years.
Let’s see what happens on the return. Pecco has been given a nice wedding pressie up till now. MM ‘s performance - to me - leaves some suspicious questions.
I hate to say it but if results are how seats are earned then vr46 should keep diggia and Franco should have to find a seat elsewhere. If diggia goes to Yamaha it'll be the end of his gp career.
I respect Pecco and what his talent on the bike does for the sport. I tune into the sport to see the storyline of Marc Marquez. He entertains on and off the track.
The 2024 Ducati is now dialled in & smoking the other manufacturers .The 2025 KTM,Aprilia ,Yamaha bike may at best be competitive with the 2024 Ducati next year but i expect the 2025 Ducati to remain dominant with Marc/Pecco onboard. The spreading of rider talent & Pramac Yamaha running latest spec bikes in 2025 makes sense.Hopefully Aprilia/ Trackhouse do the same next year. These steps can only help to reduce the gap to Ducati but wont be enough to challenge their dominance.until 2026 at the earliest & 2027 everyone resets . 2O27 season - all teams on 2027 bikes obviously - only latest spec format is the way forward post 2027 in my opinion. & id like to see Gresini as the satellite team for the incoming ( not confirmed but looks likely)BMW Moto GP team which will level the grid to 4bikes per manufacturer as it should be. Liberty Media have hit the jackpot !!!
So Ducati is not supposed to celebrate a 1-2 just because Martin lost P2 to Enea?!! What a stupid thing to say. Pramac will regret leaving Ducati big time. They've become too cocky it seems..
Are Yamaha making advances because they have limited how many engine platforms they are making rather than making lots of engines for each bike they make one 700cc engine, one 900cc engine, one 1000cc engine rather than a specific one for each type of bike. This must free up development and manufacturing space in the factory.
what happens in the main Yamaha factory wont have a great deal of effect on what happens to the racing team, which make their own bikes and engines independently of the mass production of road bikes.
Marquez will win races, but he is done with titles. With Jorge going to Aprilia and Basta to KTM I expect it to be the Pecco & Pedro show for most of next season. Yup Pedro had a bad Assen, but he has never really gone well there. This week at the Sachsenring I think Pedro will have a much better ride. I think instead of this silly tire pressure rule, they set the minimum - and everybody starts at that minimum or higher. Put Nitrogen in the tires and you will not have pressure changes. The main reason for running low is so that at the end of the race as the tire degrades the lower pressure aids grip.
Marc will need to raise his game to even stand a chance to match Bagnaia next season! As for Aprilia and KTM they will need a very big improvement over their 2024 bikes. And at every circuit!
@@C--A Absolutely and I think he will we can't forget every track this season is a first for Marc. 12 yrs on a Honda!! Marc will definitely have to raise his game Pecco has the skill and experience on the Ducati
Cmon guys. 10mins in and its been a 93 circlejerk. He was the most disappointing rider all weekend. His brother was genuinely faster in every session that he wasnt cheating with tire pressures. He was dangerous all qualifying and Aleix taught him a lesson of all people. He crashes stupidly in the sprint. 10th in main race. Calm down on 93. Digia wouldve been wortg the commentary
Rules are rules even for Marquez. To be honest it is surprising to se Marquez penalized it always looks like he has a free for anything… Changing the rule now is an affront to all other riders who finished the race with the right pressures.
@@gbone7581 You think that will be the case this year? i really don't. A third of the bikes being one make is just getting tiresome. I'm not a Ducati hater, used to own one. Just bored of current situation.
