Edinburgh is such a lovely city. A fantastic vlog that captured Edinburgh perfectly. Got to say that the haggis pie looked so good. Another great vlog guys. Stay safe and well.
Not bad for 9 hours guys. Everyone mentions the Harry Potter names in the graveyard but very few people know that Charles Dickins also visited there and got his character of Ebenezer Scrooge from a gravestone! Haste ye back lads.
Thank you! I'm heading to Edinburgh for the first time next month. This video is a perfect primer. And the energy of you two is wonderful! Thanks again 🙏🏾
What a lovely wee video and you managed to cram so much in in one day but still so much to see, as you said Edinburgh Castle is like a village, you can spend a whole day there same as the museum. Haste ye back 🏴🥰
Love this vlog, i am so happy you got to visit Edinburgh i would love to live there my mums cousin has a flat on the Royal Mile and my favourite thing to do is sit by the window and people watch. Arthurs Seat is not too bad a climb (done it when i was 17), and the view is well worth it. There is a path all the way up to the top
@@JJExtrawhat i forgot to add was at 17 that was when i was diagnosed with my chronic illness (even though i don't think of it as that) and i was absolutely shattered not knowing what was wrong 😂
Such a lovely homage to my home town. I agree that Edinburgh is the most beautiful city in the world (maybe along with Vienna) but I’m certainly biased. So glad you took the time to go up Calton Hill, it really does give you some f the best views over the city. You’ll have to come back and do one of the ghost tours that visits the Covenanters’ prison in Greyfiars Kirkyard…it’s the home of the infamous Mackenzie poltergeist 😱Haste ye back 🏴😊
Thank you Angela, glad you enjoyed it. We’d love to visit Vienna one day too but will probably be back In Edinburgh first and some of the ghost tours are on our list! Would love to do Mary Kings Close 👻
Another great video my friends. I really love you content more every time I watch one. I am excited to see this beautiful UNESCO travel destination on our UNESCO around the World drive. As traveling anthropologists and park rangers, we love to share and see others share cultural destinations and eco-tourism. Keep it up, and we look forward to keeping in touch. - Bear
I used to saty right next to Arthurs seat, like a second from the palace. Could see patrols inside with flashlights when the queen was there a few years ago. Instead of going for runs, i would climb it once or twice every single day because it was right there and ive never been as fit as i was since i moved away.
@@JJExtra oh it was lovely. Especially in the morning when it was a clear sky. Wasnt doing anything for firework night that year so went up and just sat there for a few hours getting to see all the fireworks as far as the eye could see. Never climbed up the pentlands though which i've heard is also good.
@@JJExtra btw, your channel is amazing and you two are wonderful. I'm Italian and I understand well your beautiful English, I'm definitely a fan, already!
Found your channel whilst looking for BA Lhr-Sfo flight videos as research for a trip this December - now I’ve watched loads. Edinburgh is one of my favourite places in the world. Was lucky enough to live there for 9 years. Keep up the good work Carol, Cambridgeshire
God, you are sweet guys. I really enjoyed it. Was in the city just last year and loved it. Would have loved to travel with you. It will be fun. Thank you!
Don't want get picky, but that huge monument at the start of the video is not the Scots monument, it's the Scott Monument, in honour of Sir Walter Scott, one of the greatest literary figures in Scotland's history. His statue sits within the monument. That aside, great job guys, you did Edinburgh proud with this video.
Hello lads, you definitely got your steps in walking around Edinburg. 🥵. Did you find the coffee ☕️, on the more expensive side ? The pastries 🥐 looked quite yummy 😋. Josh , glad to see you were able to see & hear , a bagpiper. Did you ask him the age old question??? What he wears under his kilt? Better yet, did he show you ?? 🫣 ❤️🌈
We notched up over 25k steps that day! We can only assume he was traditionally dressed 😂 the coffee was more expensive across the whole city but comparable to London really. Can’t complain though as the 2 we had were both good 😊
This was a nice watch. Thanks for sharing. I am an American about to take my first ever plane flight, and to Edinburgh no doubt. It will be a two week trip, but i will spend five days in Glasgow as well. One question I have, what time did you start your day doing all of this?
Thank you! Oh sounds like you are about to embark on an amazing trip! We got off of our sleeper train at 7:30am so we were in the coffee shop at the start just after 8am. We ended the video at just before 4pm. Hope that helps 😊
I love Edinburgh and you certainly showed us some beautiful and interesting parts. The cakes looked lovely. I have to say I prefer Glasgow for it's architecture, Glasgow is terrific. Good vlog, thanks lads.☺☺
@@JJExtra Pollock Country Park, my fave park. Includes Highland cattle and Pollock House. Rocken Glen, massive waterfall. Glasgow Street Art. Buchanan Galleries, Glasgow Necropolis and University of Glasgow. Some of these suggestions are about the architecture.🤗
@JJ Extra aww thank u. I try yea dean village is very popular am still learning how to do things I love watching other people vlogs of edinburgh I serch everywhere it's only place thats someone is vlogging everyday.
The skull and bones aka "Memento Mori"(Remember to die) is often mistaken for pirates it isn't but it is a symbol to remind all who see it that Death comes to all no matter your status some you may notice even have a little grin which goes back to the idea that they are having a better time than us
You were actually standing next to parts of the original wall that was surrounding the city called the Flodden wall (in the dark part of the graveyard) and also people are not supposed to touch Bobby’s nose because it destroys the statue which is why the nose is now golden. Great video though
It doesn't "destroy" the statue . It is made of bronze and is tarnished which is what happens when this alloy is exposed to air. . Touching the nose is simply removing the layer of tarnish.
That's not Arthur's seat at the end of the vid. It's Salisbury crags. If you climb that path you'll head back down and have to start Arthur's seat from the bottom. Give us. Shout if you need any other tips next time you're here.
As you would expect, another great video. Edinburgh couldn't get a better advert. But now to the most important question of this video: Where the hell can I get Jason's baseball cap? 😊
Interesting, I would say beautiful but not pretty. Striking is certainly right. I've lived in Edinburgh for 40 years and, even after all this time, it still sometimes takes my breath away.
The Presbyterian mindset has hospitality venues close right when customers are at peak demand. Pub kitchens close at 21h - which means staff stop serving at 20h. Ridiculous.
Significant snowfall isn’t actually as common as you might think in Edinburgh so you’d have to be lucky to book a short trip in advance and get snow. Would be incredible to see though 😊
Born and raised in Edinburgh and I have to say, princess street is beautiful but when you go to the places people live it’s not that good. Graffiti and chavs roaming the streets.
The Edinburgh I know is not the Edinburgh in this film. My Edinburgh has building works, patchy road works, everywhere. It has overflowing litter bins. It has filthy pavements spotted with chewing gum and more litter. It has too many tourists. Every city can be beautiful but it takes effort. Edinburgh city fathers don't seem to give a damn beyond Princes Street and it's gardens. I sometimes wonder why I bother to pay my Council Tax when the place continues to look like a knacker's midden. Lost my rose tinted specs long ago. As for the Fringe "Festival" - give me strength, send it to Glasgow!
@@sandersson2813You see how the nose of the dog is shiny metal? Well I should be black like the rest of the statue but it’s been rubbed off by thousands of tourists rubbing the nose.
