Is Encore the BEST Exotic Mission?? (Ranking) 

It has been pointed out that I missed Vox Obscura and Dual Destiny. Let’s just pretend Vox is so bad it didn’t make the list haha. Dual Destiny easily should be #1 on the list. I might go back and make an entire video for it now.

I feel bad for the 3 Vox obscura fans not even having their mission on the list 💀

I’d count the corrupted variant and whatever ager’s’ mission was called. They weren’t entirely new but also were changed up enough to be unique

I think this is one of the best for myself. I appreciate not forcing tight timers, except for the banner/emblem. Much of our clan has been away taking a break from the game until next season, so only two of us actually have the choir fully unlocked. Then yesterday a couple popped into discord asking wazzup, and they had both done enough that I ran them through a couple times to get them their fully unlocked guns. And then as we were finishing up, two more logged in with the intention to get the gun, so I jumped on with them! Was pretty cool to run the 4 through yesterday. It's an enjoyable mission, and I didn't just speed run, but allowed them some time to appreciate the work Bungie put in here. A Beautiful world once again. A rare occasion where I was the knowledgeable player, always nice to give back 🙂

Seraph Shield & Whetstone are my two favorites by far, followed by Presage and Zero Hour. Harbinger and Vox straight up bore me lmao

Encore had the gameplay just didn’t have the visuals or vibes unfortunately. Since the next two episodes are confirmed to have exotic missions (from the old roadmap we got like 1-2 years ago now) I hope they go crazier with the visuals and since the next two episodes have much more interesting aesthetics they prob will

Skarrow, you Azetcross, and all these Streamers who want to sweat; that's fine, but please don't ruin it for us casual players who have lives. As much as I would love to live in Destiny and other games as you all have the time to do, I can't. I want to play the game for 1-2 hours if any on a Sunday when I'm off work and enjoy the ride. I don't want to load into hell where I'm constantly dying from 1 shot, and can't complete the mission. I seriously hope the new difficulty scales will satisfy you Streamers in Apollo.

My personal list: 12. Other side - I mean it was just *so* much shorter and easier than all the others I don’t really put it in the same tier 11. Vox obscura - did the legend version yesterday for the traits (yeah I forgot to do it earlier shut up), it’s just very mediocre 10. Harbinger - I don’t know where to put this, I’d actually like them to bring it back cause the only thing I remember was it slaughtering me as a newer solo on release 9. Starcrossed - cool mechanics and story, only real gripe is I don’t love the aesthetic of the black garden but that’s personal preference 8. Whetstone - I got it done early before it wrecked matchmaking completely for deep dives, pretty short but I think that intensity is unmatched to this day in an exotic mission 7. Whisper - look, I joined late (season 10) and so I don’t have a ton of nostalgia for whisper, but it does have a certain something mysterious about it combined with nothing I actively dislike so it ends up here 6. Encore - loved all the secrets in this mission and the puzzles were a lot more fun than a lot of exotic missions, though it did get a little same-y running as much as needed 5. Avalon - this thing was *hard* and I loved it, plus as you said it plays more like a mini-dungeon than most exotic missions which was so cool 4. Seraph’s shield - I love the braytech aesthetic so of course I was gonna like this, though it’s kept away from the top by virtue of lacking that unique special something that I think the best missions have 3. Zero hour - the TR3-VR maze is an experience that has yet to be replicated in this entire franchise, and combined with the two different legend/normal routes, yeah this is awesome 2. Dual destiny - as someone who doesn’t really do raids, this feels closer to a raid experience than any dungeon I have ever done due to the communication required, without the stress of a full 6-man team - glorious 1. Presage - doing this blind and solo when it first came out is to date my favourite experience in all of Destiny, and to this day it’s still in my opinion the most unique mission they’ve ever done

After doing all Catalyst and almost all the secrets for this exotic mission in one sitting, I gotta say I don’t dislike the mission but it just wasn’t memorable. I like this mission more than Vox Obscura, Harbringer, and Starcrossed but with those missions they all had a part that was memorable to me. Encore didn’t really have a stand out moment, closest thing was the Chioma reveal but it kind of fell flat when you consider everything we had with Clovis.

Dual Destiny is by far my favourite in the game. For me Destiny is at it's peak when it's guardians collaborating to reach a common goal and I don't think there's any other exotic mission that emphasizes it more than DD. It's also very fun to teach plus a gorgeous arena in the last room! Presage would be second because that atmosphere is unmached. Zero Hour is 3rd because having a completely different path on Legend is something more missions should have and the premise is great too.

Honestly I love the bad juju mission. The idea of a bunch of cabal being sent on a suicide mission into hell (ascendant plane) gave of major doom vibes

Real ranking 1. Zero hour 2. Presage 3. Whisper 4. Encore Everything else sucks go home

If we weren’t forced to -lay through it 3 times just for seasonal story, it’d be in my top 3. Unfortunately as it is, it barely makes number 7.

Whetstone is not an exotic mission, it was just a detour in a seasonal activity. Not sure I’d count Otherside, but then it’s been so long I don’t remember it. I wouldn’t count Dual Destiny, but I’m not sure that’s fair. It’s really just because it’s for an armor and doesn’t make sense.

I don’t think Bungie realizes that BIGGER doesn’t always mean better in Destiny. Avalon has a bunch of secrets and hidden details which appeal to the easter egg hunters but in terms of a base mission to go in and out every week, it doesn’t have much. The puzzles are very basic (one run through and you’ve learned it all), its very linear compared to zero hour and presage (other than the side terminal stuff, which is conveniently placed and don’t require much of any detour to find), its theme is just the choral vex but with greenery, and it doesn’t break any rules when it comes to Destiny missions. It’s not a bad mission by any means I just don’t think it deserves to be at the top of everyone’s list because it’s *long*.

Not even close I haven’t watched the video yet but the mission puts me and ALL my friends to sleep lol

The only thing i dont like about whetstone is the fact that because they made it built into the seasonal activity, that meant that it woukd get vaulted.

One of the worst imo d tier just boring after 2end run throught the best for me is still zero hour it withstood the test of time to be zero hour is like a fine wine 🍷 👌

Final boss for encore was bugged for me and so many others.

with the whisper part of the mission i just want them to have a random wish-ender wall hack that starts a mission in some place
