People clowned on me when I said it, but I still don't think people understand how much time they spent working on the awkwen update. And it wasn't just some foot in door ploy. That was their only plan. We cancel months of work and it'll take months to try something else. We're seeing it now. I stopped playing daily almost 2 years ago now because there's simply a lot of core issues that SG never seems to want to change, so I moved on. I'm not as heavily invested in PvP so that's probably a big reason. Hearing a potentially interesting PvE progression just die shows I'm clearly a minority in the community. I think E7 needs some big changes to how gearing and progression works. It's the most complained about thing when you look at non-E7 communities. People will always leave so you can't stop that, but the sheer grind and lack of QoL to facilitate that past "well, you can hunt in the background as you RTA" ensures very little new blood will stick around for long. That's why most companies look at making a new game after an old one is 4+ years old. And well, Supercreative IS working on a new game...
@@raze2012_ Interesting pve progression? You dont need anything special to do all the pve content. The awaken update was an error, like a BIG ERROR. The game is pvp oriented.. and that update was the death of the game.
It is how gacha games work. 90% of the player base are players who want to play a free game in their phone without annoying ads. Then there is a 10% of the player base who don't mind putting vast amounts of money in order to get to the top or the most exclusive items. Prices are based on that, they are not meant for you, but for those who do not care putting their wallet in.
@@Nanaucat thats why we got 1.8 million in January lmao, ive spent in hsr so yeah, they should keep the business model lets see how many months we can go foward
That's why I quit Epic7 years ago. It's one of the greediest gacha games I've ever seen. Having said that it's still playable F2P if you're patient and don't give a f*ck about Arena.
I've quit during Kane's banner. I was exhausted and burned out. I was also drained of my bookmarks and it felt like it was just so hard to maintain getting the new RGBs as an F2P/mild Dolphin. Decided then and there to stop when other games made me happier. I have a Champion RTA account and I threw all that away. It was a load of relief off my shoulders.
At least for a lot of my guild, its the multiple limited banners back to back that's got people annoyed and leaving. when they leave so does their money.
@magaking4552 Same as you with having played for the past 5 years, I have also felt fatigued getting these really frequent back to back Limited banners though. I can see why it could drive people away, even if I have been able to collect every character and their Artifact just fine. It's just a lot to pull for, what feels like all the time.
Not to ignore the comments about being able to pull on multiple banners with enough currency provided, but I also don't understand how people can be so incredibly impatient. I'm probably a minority here, but limited characters always come back around at some point (barring collabs of course), so if there's a string of limited banners, I make a choice on who I want and wait for the next time the others come around... I find it so strange, people cant just wait if they don't have enough to get a character - you can progress your account in other ways besides getting the characters (it's a gear game after all), by the time the next limited you want comes around, you might even have the gear for them... Again, I'm a minority and don't mind waiting - I love playing this game and don't mind the gear grind but it just seems like people must have everything that comes out the moment it does. Sprinting in a marathon, just seems really shortsighted imo
My biggest problem with the game is the lack of resources specially charms and Mola.. I love building characters and trying them out so when i cant i get bored
Epic Seven is my favorite game of all time. I love fps games, rpg games, puzzle games, all kinds of games but I never go back to them the same as I do with E7. The changes they've made so far and deciding to not push through with the update that everyone hated (Awaken Potential) made me respect Smilegate so much. I feel like the recent milking decisions are because they lost so much with dropping that update. (But I agree that it was a scummy cash grab) When people ask me for a game recommendation, I used to hesitate to say E7 because it used to be hard to go from early game to late game but they added so many things (i.e. Hunt Expert Challenge, Promotion Challenge, MolaGora Challenge etc.) that help newbies so now I've been recommending the game to my friends. I hope this game continues to get support and will flourish in the future. It's so underrated and I really want this game to get the attention it deserves.
The release schedule for banners was heavy, but content was really light. I'm not a big rta player, and there's not as much consistently dropped compared to how 2022 was with story every month, new raids, sidestories every month, seasonal side stories. Not sure what they're cooking this year to be honest after 2023.
I believe the trigger for the decline in the profit of e7 is the awaken potential, which has broken the trust between players and devs, making a lot of whales simply quit, plus the dry period that is going on from the anniversary up until now (which is super understandable, bcs the awaken potential system was probably planned out for years to come, still can't believe they actually thought that adding constelations/eidolons/pots would be ok in any shape or form with imprints already giving out free stats). The fact that they are spamming us with fomo tactics that seem like they are picked up straight from genshin impact is not helping either (byblis & lewdica last month and now laia with the insane +30 artifact & maybe new tama?)
@@Jenazadp but i totally agree with you, epic seven is the best gacha out there. I'm always trying some new/other ones and none comes close to e7. So i really hope they can get back up on their feet and even come up with new collabs which is something people are always excited about
I’ve played E7 around 4 years. This is only game I know that you can get all characters (except ML if you pity all banner) for free included limited and collab. The only reason I’ve spent for the game is I really care about the devs and staffs. E7 is still a good game since the first day I started playing the game I can say.
Unfortunately this is no longer the case with the amount of limited characters we’ve been getting for a while now, it’s mathematically impossible to get every rgb f2p unless you treat e7 like a full time job
i mean, a lot of things are timegated so im not sure how playing more will get you more resources here? personally ive gotten the log-in a bunch of times but never anything else and im able to get all the limiteds kinda easily, with enough left to pull on custom RGB banner and new units like nak wohl and elvira@@strictlyxo6039
I think we're in real trouble. This is easily my favorite gacha/phone game ever. It's the most generous gacha as well. However, netmarble guy is killing it fast. The cash grabbing over the past 6-8 months is unacceptable. Multiple back-to-back limited units, the terrible Awakening debacle, the lack of collabs, and stupidly over-priced/underperforming packs are a nonstarter for anyone with a lick of sense or self-control. They can save this game. I'm not really sure what all it will take at this point, but milking us isn't the answer. Times are tough, people are struggling, and spending on a gacha is a luxury
Jena I just want to say you're my favorite content creator! It is sad to see the state of E7 and it is truly worrying seeing going down like this, I truly hope it can come back because as much as I hate it sometimes it is still my favorite gacha to play
Honestly epic 7 is the easiest gacha to save money in. Not because of being generous but because all the pack prices are so outrages I’ve never once considered spending money on this game. Other gacha games constantly tempt me either because skins or because the currency packs provide a lot of value. They can easily tempt with premium skins but even those are free. Not that I’m complaining about free skins but man they could be making some really REALLY cool skins or even backgrounds that cost money.
They should engage in a substantial collaboration, diversify their content offerings, and urgently develop a dedicated PC client. The current emulator setup is frustratingly sluggish.
Price are too high .. if you see genshin i purchased pass but in epic seven you can't even think about purchasing single thing ..really price is to high
Epic Seven has so much potential and hope this causes the dev team to listen to its players. The E7 team needs to communicate more. The irony is financially they did much better when they weren't pushing back-to-back limited units and were more F2P friendly. The change in leadership seems concerning. Yuna Kim was great when she was still back leading the team.
Something worth mentioning as well is that most of the community managers were stood down towards the end of the year. That is a bad omen for SG listening to their community going forward.
Ive been playing E7 since release with some breaks here and there, also played other gacha games and Ive been quite the spender in other games but Ive NEVER felt like spending in E7, packs are stupidly pricy and full of worthless crap and they pretend for me to spend so I keep farming wyvern or for some RNG equipment? thats the least enticing thing they can offer me.
They should revamp the monthly packs. Make 3 different $5 monthly packs for low spenders. And make a monthly tournament players can pay to enter and take half the pot if they win.
The cancelation of awakening potential update really hurt them. In my opinion the lack of advertisements is a problem too. My suggestions - Hire some popular people with gacha background like mtashed (cuz genshin players are many in numbers) and he's already hooked at the game. People will swarm games that these people promote regardless of what they play. - Do anime (but don't make ras the mc. No one in this time likes a boring mc like ras (no offense to his fans). Do something like a person playing the game that transmigrated to the game. Whereas he/she needs to return to his/her world with the help of ras traveling all region. Make it so that he/she has the capabilities to change the future cuz he/she knows what happens next. Ex. preventing vildred's descent to darkness. - or they can just change netmarble guy
Tbf what you describe for an anime is an Isekai which is kinda already a thing with Yuna. So I guess you could do that with a Yuna MC? Plus last I checked, Isekais have gone down in popularity for anime.
I'd normally leave a quick comment or say something silly about the current state of Jenazad's facial hair, but the tone of this video is more serious, so I'll try to be serious. Personally, I think E7's biggest problem is its community. We have some really great people, but we have an overwhelmingly large vocal component of loud whiners who feel entitled to have nearly everything almost as soon as it's released while contributing next to nothing to the game's longevity. We hold this game to a much higher standard than other gacha games in terms of pace-of-updates, being free-to-play friendly, etc. The weird thing is that E7 generally beats its competitors in those areas (e.g. compare the pace of updates with Summoners War or ask their players if they also have easy access to all or most of the RBB characters plus a bunch of the ML 5s, or compare their policies about recalls, compensation, and resource refunds). Saying "E7 is the best gacha game" is subjective (and I agree with that opinion BTW), but saying "E7 has high quality animations/art, some very fun game play, and is the most free-to-play friendly gacha game of its kind" is not so much an opinion, but closer to straight up fact. This comparative generosity and pace of updates did not foster goodwill or gratitude among the many vocal whiners, instead it generated higher expectations, a sense of entitlement, a short attention span, and an environment where rage is always bubbling at the surface and waiting for any opportunity to explode. If the community is not raging about something right this second, just keep the popcorn ready, because we'll be raging about something trivial or important before you know it. If we're going to hold a game to a higher standard, then we should compensate its creators as much or more than the games that adhere to a lower standard, but that has not happened with E7 (e.g. Summoners War routinely makes 3x or more monthly revenue compared to E7). SG has made many mistakes over the years, and they're in the unfortunate situation where other companies can commit sins and be met with the usual grumbles while SG's mistakes will be met with unmitigated rage and even trucks circling the building in some cases. Reasonable or not, E7's player base has higher expectations for E7 than many other player bases have for other gacha games. There is a strong contingent of players who love this game and earnestly want to contribute to its longevity. I include some of the "I complain because I care" players in this contingent, since even though I don't agree with review bombs or some other tactics, I do think some people are vocal because they feel a sense of investment or are truly passionate about the game (side note, could you guys maybe test out those tactics on your girlfriend or someone you love and see how that goes, just tell her "baby, I'm not going to be super vocal when you do something right, but I do promise to talk a lot of sh-t about you in public and tear you down when you do something wrong, and I solemnly swear to routinely deemphasize your good qualities while focusing on your flaws, but it's because I love you baby" and just see if that strengthens the relationship). It's not too late for E7 to reforge the relationship with the part of the community that loves this games and wants it to last. If they focused on consistently communicating and collaborating with this contingent rather than feeling held hostage by the many vocal whiners, we would all be in a better place. E7 is a great product, and great products attract both great people and jackasses alike. That means you need to learn to distinguish between the two, rather than having a single approach with your relationship to the community as a cohesive whole. The community as a whole absolutely has not earned a mature relationship of trust and honest communication, so we deserve to have the devs treat us with strategy rather than integrity. However, a segment of the community does have the ability to be reasonable, and many of them crave a mature constructive relationship with SG. I believe that segment is strong enough to propel this game into a bright future. These players could even handle honest conversations about making the game profitable, because they understand that the art team is not made up of volunteers and that quality work does deserve to be rewarded. It's obviously rare for a company to attempt to be open and honest rather than calculated or non-transparent, but the high quality of the game has indeed attracted some very high quality people who love playing it. I hope SG will develop a strong filter so that they will not be distracted or held hostage by the self-entitled venom-spewing buzz-killing whiners within the community. I hope that SG will focus 100% on building a strong relationship with the part of the community that loves the game and wants it to succeed. I hope that SG will take a leap of faith and honestly communicate with this part of the community, even with uncomfortable topics such as profit or the rationale behind unpopular game decisions. I hope SG recognizes that many players are reasonable people who want the game to be fun, healthy, and long lasting. I hope the player base will balance routine complaints with periodic acknowledgment that E7 is an incredible game that has given all of us a great deal of enjoyment. I hope.
Yeah that controversy is a huge deal, bigger than people give it credit for. I won't go too deep into tinfoil, but I remember people suspecting a collab in December or so, but I wouldn't be surprised if thr Awaken controversy just broke the deal and had the collab cancelled. We'd never hear about it publicly, but those pr disasters can make for very messy 3rd party relations. Especially 3rd parties in Japan where they want to avoid all controversy, and where Smile gate has less leverage, being Korean. Actions have consequences. And having the best intentions doesn't necessarily mean the best results, especially in a gacha.
@blazerush2012 Honestly, this was so well said that I don't think I could have said it better myself. Mind if I post this elsewhere as well? Naturally I'll let everyone know who really said it all.
@@djsanders4813 lol, someone stole my consent. I don't really mind, and I don't need credit. It's from my experiences, but it's not unique and I'm not the first to talk about this stuff. Just don't sensationalize it as "E7 Collab cancelled over Awaken update". I'm only speculating based on other companies, I have no inner knowledge about Smilegate.
1. Advertise, have not seen a single advertisement of the game. Run ads in social media, sponsors, heck even a short anime can create interest to the game. I only started playing because of Lacari few years ago otherwise I most likely wouldn’t have played e7 2. Revamp the packs to have value for what you pay. You want players to feel they are getting their moneys worth. Current packs need to be reworked 3. Possibly sell skins. I like how we get skins from the pass and rta but I do wish I can buy variety of skins for all my favorite hero’s. Same concept as league or any other hero type game. 4. Take risk in balance patches. Buff variety of characters to shake the meta or do like a preseason trial of buffs in rta 5. Adjust a bit on the rng in gear. Examples would be (all mod gems give mid to high values only and you won’t get the same value if you re mod it, limit low rolls on epic gear to only mid to high rolls 6. Cater to both Whales and F2P. As much as I like free stuff, we can’t have everything free. It needs to make money but also not fully be a whale game. A balance of both. This is just an opinion on how maybe e7 can make some changes but then again I’m not some expert nor do I know the background stuff that happens when managing a gacha game. I’m just rando who enjoys this game and sincerely wants this game to succeed. There isn’t any other game like e7
I'd say one of the issues for money overall (not the reason for the dip) is that the price of packs is just rediculous. Why would i want to get 3 mystic summons for 10 dollars when i can just get that for free by grinding hunts and getting a reasonable rank in arena? I would love it if they released skins that costed money, let's say a skin for someone like Straze or ML Ken that costed like 10-30 dollars. That would have been a reasonable price, and then releasing it for skin tickets a year later or something. Because as it is right now, I only buy the 5 dollars monthly pack. I have done only that for 3 years straight
I think the drop is from the content draught we've had the last few months (maybe because of the cut awakening system) and also the meta being particularly yucky the last season. I think the best thing sg can do in the short term is implement a really impactful balance adjustment that really shakes up the meta and gets people excited to try out characters. Then longer term they need to implement more content for both pvp and PvE.
My thoughts: - Collab sells well, even reruns. - Limited units that have underwhelming kits don't sell well. People don't care even if they are limited. Collabs are much harder to get. Limited units have group summons.
I'm completely drained from the barrage of limiteds and don't really like the direction the game is going, so I'll probably be quitting soon, too. Also I've never understood why their packs are so overpriced for what you get. I feel like they're catered to whales specifically. But if there were better packs at lower prices, I think a lot more people would be inclined to spend a little bit and that would add up.
Ive been feeling the same way about E7 as you do recently. Ive always been anti-doomer about the game dying but recently cant even defend the game at this point...I hope at least when WW comes out you can get a boom in your channel growth.
The problems with Epic 7 that I feel. Balancing - Heroes like Lua and Conquer Lilias where they stay meta for YEARS. So what is the incentive to pull for newer heroes if the older ones outclass them. In my opinion, nerfs need to be implemented. The buffs they do are majority mediocre at best and with how little we get of them meta gets stale quickly. Or we get heroes who literally break the game and make it aggravating to play Awaken Potential - no one was happy seeing the need for imprint mechanics during the Summer Event yet they try to double down on it. This was a huge waste of money and time Gear- enough said ER and Effectiveness... And too many gaps of captivating content to keep any interested Many more you have pointed out too
100% agree, this total radio silence and absence of usual content, plus the limited units and packs back to back to back feels like the game isn't going to focus on the game content and more focus on cash grab part of the game...
Is no surprise at all that epic seven is falling apart since they changed the CEO. The game is being lazy in ALL departments: writers for the lore (terrible writing/narrative since episode 4), the lack of commitment about testing units and balance changes (elvira incident and Alots murder attempt), the NOTORIOUS af greedy behavior by releasing a lot of bait and limited units in a row and the list goes on... I´m loyal to the game but each passing day SmileGate is making me think the game deserves to die, specially with the recent "preview/teaser" of the upcoming new characters... I mean, Jenua is real hype because he is an old character and finally is seeing "real" action but what about Brinus? The community has been asking for her FOR YEARS unlike Jenua and SmileGate still thinks that is just a meme... a fucking meme bro XD. I swear to all of you guys that the moment Brinus becomes playable Epic Seven will go back to its golden age.
Dawg, been on this ride with you for two years Jena, you're awesome man and my go to channel on Twitch. You're the fucking man and I hope you keep doing what you're doing, also love Epic Seven just as a game itself best gacha especially after spending a year and 200 bucks on Genshin
E7 fails to attract new players and most old players don't need to spend money on the game because it is very F2P friendly. No new whales and a just few old whales. Also, for the casual spenders, the packs are pretty much garbage, not worth it
A few reasons as to why people are spending less may be the fact that January bills tend to be higher than the rest of the year. You could say Christmas is higher with all the presents, but people buy those throughout the year usually. Food prices has remained high. Electricity has remained costly. Gas costs a lot. People may just be pinching a little bit now at the start of the year. 2023 also technically had a dip in January, but food prices affecting the cost of living weren't as high yet. For me, it feels the game has done too many Limited characters since last summer too. We used to have only 1 every 2-3 months, now we almost always get 2 back to back. It gets tiring to pull for. The maid event was excessively story-heavy as well, which straight up fatigued me and I considered skipping the story for the first time in 5 years of playing. Hell I even considered quitting. Like I want story, but this was A LOT of story and barely any stages with battles. I weren't having fun, and when you're not having fun, the thoughts of "why am I even playing this" starts to creep in. I personally hate the new Ancient Inheritance changes too. I guess if I'm not alone in my boat, that could have driven people off to other games and spending less in E7 also.
My suggestion, give a reward for reaching high rta rank like legend or right below legend that's nice but not an absolute must get like say 500 mystic bookmarks per season . There would be a great incentive to chase every month and look forward to being an end game player. The free skin is nice but too big of a reward to put at higher ranks. Then the frame us just... doesn't really matter when summons are what people care most as end game players
I missed mentioning this, but the reasoning for this making things better is by encouraging more people to play till end game pvp hopefully increasing the numbers of game hours, meta analysis in the community, and increase number of people that spend money in the game. Of course this is solely by theory
If they really want more people to play rta, the first thing they should figure out is to make it actually fun to play. A lot of people who don't play rta dont play it or quit playing it because to them its just not fun. Its not because there is pretty much no rewards for playing it because people will play even if theres no rewards as long as they are having fun. The first step they would actually need to do to make it fun is to make it more balanced. And we all know it will take a miracle for that to happen considering how incompetent E7's balance team is.
I think you should include events that were going on during each month, for example green Lilias unit wasnt something game breaking but we got awesome event with brand new game mode to play with. Auto chess wasnt perfect but it was something new and a lot of people had fun so i guess thats what saved that month revenue. Also i think that January revenue is low becouse of 3 months of not that interesting banners made people save a lot of bookmarks and other stuff so there is no reason to spend money right now.
i honestly wonder if aespa will ever get a rerun as it wasn’t really a beneficial collab for either parties. karina and rocket punch both being good makes it so in demand too.
Player base are also dipping, facing the same exact opponent in RTA were annoying. They really need to step up on advertisements ngl. And also, they need an impactful collab.
They do not deserve any money as long as they are recycling their content In my 2 years of playing 95% of the content is just recycled As much as I love a lot of the aspects of the game I can't say I'm surprised the game is in a poor state
The way their new "content" has been managed is baffling as hell. Ancient Inheritance is a once in a blue moon mode that should be much more rotational/frequent just like guild wars. Advent should be a permanent mode yet it isn't for some weird reason. RTA has needed a format change for about a year now. And yes they keep releasing Hwayoung-tier broken units with zero play test and that's not even mentioning how they nerfed Elvira but refused to refund BMs and instead provided a basic ass RGB selector so those who no longer wanted Elvira lost out on BMs for the next new RGB.
I had a shower thought the other day.. E7 seems to reward you less, the longer you play it.. I'm not meaning freebies, from events/ log ins/ F up compensation.. I mean in terms of game play. Realistically, what is there to do daily? hunt, GW, RTA. that's really about it. Many of the events you clear out in a day, wait for them to open the next week of it, smack that over then it's back to the grind stone... The web event is same thing every time, just wears a different shirt every two weeks or so. You use 10k hunt mats and get a some gear to roll.. then lo and behold.. low rolls or shit stats like perfect dps substats on flat health neck.. just leaves me unfulfilled. Not to mention, get a new hero, takes a month to mola the fuggin thing.. Don't get me wrong, I have loved the game since I started around first anni.. I saw 2 great reasons when I first seen Luna that this was the game for me. But it feels like there is only so long you can flog a dead horse, if you know the term of phrase.. Feels like it's only the players that love the game, not the people who run it.
You hit the nail on the head. It's tiring and hard to care for anything. I don't even know why bother pulling for any character when it takes forever to gear acceptable enough stats to make characters functional, and even if I do gear them... where am I going to use said characters? What stories am I reading about said characters? Why should I be caring for any of these characters unless I am grinding specifically for RTA? All the content in the game is not gameplay, it's a mindless job. The art contests and mystical theater were steps in the right direction, but it's so drip fed and late that I am already long past burn out.
Something special about E7 that not other games has is that it has a respect of a small artists like me. I love it when the admin of E7 social media is so friendly and even admiring the arts I know it's weird but that's what makes me feel so glad with E7 Unfortunately, on the game itself. I don't like how it went, meta is really bad. Yes I know how to deal with each units but do you think it would be fun to keep using same unit against the same team for a long time? New characters and story are the one that keeps me hype. I want to know what's next, I want to see my favourite character present there, etc. But they seems to slowly bringing it down (before ep4 finished they used to update a chapter for a month) But it is what it is. I hope with Laia and Limited Tama the game has some boost on its revenue Kinda worrying too that they won't release nee ML 5* until the Mystic Event is done. So the revenue will be from just new RGB/limited. Hopefully the game went alright I love E7, I love how the characters animation looks like. I love to play and use the characters I like. And I don't want the game to be in a bad state like this I hope soon things will get better
i have to pay a single pack and it was a skin pack, my main issue is that there isnt a lot of good pack at low price yk when u play genshin there is the bp and 5 $ pack but in e7 we dont havve this kind of stuf ( or at least they arent worth )
They don't realize how bad their packs are. Too expensive for very low value...They should sell specific packs or deals for summons that is WORTH buying. Sell a battle pass, 5-10$ which is like a monthly deal excluding the epic pass. Sell more skins 5-10$.
Jan had the free ml unit event. So people did not spend on ml unit. Other problem is crazy rng in getting good gear. Amount of effort need to spend to great gear puts people off.
at moments like these, i dont mind if the developers straight up ask for a donation if their design philosophy stays consumer friendly like it has been. I hope the game stays around for a long time cause its great, not perfect but still great
If anything SmileGate should invest more time in marketing and creative direction tactics, just look at the games that are in the top tier; let's take Nikke as example, from one digit number it went up to $27 millions in just ONE YEAR since its release... among all their reasons for being so popular the ones that E7 has to learn/copy is the constant flow of content via mini stories (more sidestories that are not attached to heroes releases) which mean they need to invest more in their narrative and world building (bloody lacking currently) because the game is totally unbalanced in various aspects, one of them is pvp and pve balance where resides the main lore (yeah I know the game is pvp oriented but there must be something that can "hook" players besides broken units). Another aspect is making playable characters we already know instead of releasing new ones who lack (obviously) attachment to old players... yeah I'm talking about "moves" like Jenua being playable this year and units that could be really interesting to being able to play with, mainly BRINUS due already having 2D live sprite, skill animations and VA, the mermaid in Karin's summer sidestory (she already has a moonlight in the lore) and the Lord of summer Azimanum who is a cool character and is really popular. I will stop the wall text right here because I made myself clear at this point.
Of course it's doing bad. SG only does bad work. Why would I feel like spending on a game ruined by badly managed power creep? The devs make moves like ruining hero UI and nerfing expedition rewards instead of trying to develop a quality product with moves like nerfing ridiculous units like Lua or ayufine, hiring playtesters, or figuring out a rework for ER and EF. Instead of fixing the Lua mistake they're selling a limited unit who can answer her. Rift is trash that weaponizes 15% against players. Brawl was the best thing SG's done since, like, auto tower and we didn't get to keep it. You'd have to be insane to invest here
I actually have never seen it this low (5 years player btw), well I'm not ready for it to be dead yet but some of the changes last year are making me nervous
I think the main problem is that almost all the new units released are limited heroes. For example: SG released 2 limited units (Byblis and Blooming Lidica) then after that Elvira (not limited unit) was released, but then they released Laia as a limited unit for the Valentine Event Side Story. Imagine if SG continued to release limited units of all side story events. It is true that it is impossible for players to get every limited unit released (including P2W players) for various reasons, but it would be better if not all new units had to be limited units. Apart from that, it could be said that the balance team cannot buff units that really need it. They tend to buff units that are already good. Therefore, only certain same units can be used as PvP units. SG should release PvE units frequently so players can complete their PvE content as well.
They don't know how to market their game. I've literally seen zero ad for e7 in my whole freaking life. I wouldn't have played this if I didn't click that random clip from xalgem.
i quit the game before aespa banner comes out... then i just return on end of nov 2023.. theres a time when i tired and bored of the game and quit it but e7 i always come back to play until i got bored again. one thing i realize on e7 when i came back, theres too many limited character comes out back to back and it makes you feels fomo and tired. On other note, If e7 makes a game open world like genshin impact but epic seven world and story i would be excited to play.
@@rampagepotato4307 absolutely not😂 where are the nerfs then? 1. Wasn"t Cillias dominating since her release ? Everything of her kit for free. It should have been soulburn and get your extra turn 2. Navy Captain Landy as example : why can she procc Salvo of an counter attack but Belian can not ? She gives anti-crit to her allies for just being there. Heroes like Choux and Diene have to actively use their S3 to do that. You can not tell me that that is balanced.
@@ninjaraccoon9914 1. C.Lilias is heavily countered by extra turn and non attack skill punishers. Or you could just outspeed her lol. 2. Belian can AoE strip, followed by two heavy debuffs (decrease speed and hit chance) for an extra attack. And you're here asking such a noob question on why she wasn't allowed to proc it in counter attacks. Bruh 🗿 Also, Candy's buff was just an icing in top. With how everyone can strip buffs nowadays, it's not as effective as you think it was. If you see Candy's buff survive past Turn 1, then you might be playing the game wrong lol. Buffs that you can apply at will has wayyyy more value than passive ones.
The most important thing is, This game is really hard to endorse. Everytime people ask "hey is e7 good?" I always answer the same "yeah its good, but yea dont bother try" There are so many content you need to do and very stamina hungry, raid, hunts, rift, expedition require specific 5* unit, not to mention one shot is very gear hungry and theres also arifact. Its just complete mess if u start new now
Not enough for the f2p and medium spenders. Only for whales. W2P (whale2play) used to love and spend but now its $0 from me. Outerplane is abundantly graceful. Equipment and gatcha is more fun. 3d models nice. Also sweeping runs are amazing. Why tf hasnt original E7 done this? U might hate E7 after u try outerplane.
Bro how can it be on the upward trend since S Luluca and Lethe summer event made by the new management? E7 predictably now follows his career path. He keeps on fking around to found out like a lemming.
theyre implementing the wrong ways to make money. instead of making new p2w limited/ml units they didnt even attempt to sell stuff like skins, profile banners, cosmetics
@@ooczzyyup I haven’t spent a dime since aria censorship and I was a bit of a dolphin spender. I would consider spending again if they made skins, custom character colors, and miscellaneous other nonsense stuff. They trying to hard to sell power and that’s dumb imo.
Honestly what changed from their usual would be lack of collabs and back to back limiteds. The advertising is still the same. I see it on RU-vid shorts, Facebook, and insta. The content being “dry” isn’t exactly new. They were still pulling 3+ mill even during dry periods. The PvP meta shift ain’t anything new, but it could contribute to people leaving sure, but aside from the aforementioned things, I think those 3 are the big reasons there’s a major dip. The new CEO thinks that since he couldn’t get that revamp awakening going to just release limited unit after limited unit to incentivize people to spend since I’m sure he’s aware how f2p E7 is because it’s easy to stack up a pity. Thus the back to back limiteds. It seems to be biting SG in the ass because I’m seeing gachas that I play, or used to play, pull out Overlord collabs, street fighter collabs, and in just like “can we have this in E7?” I think the CEO needs to relax on the fomo limiteds, give people a break, and drop more collabs. Trust. If they want to make money, put E7 back to the way it was. Schedule wise.
I was wondering where the christmas event was... No Skin, no pets, nothing...Byblis and Lidica had a weird timing. So many people are celebrating christmas and E7 ignored it somehow. They could get cash with christmas stuff, but they don't realize it or they ignore it. Together with the uninteresting 5 Stars and so many weird stuff they made this year I'm not really surpised. This problem is selfmade :/
Play from day1 , love the game , actively everyday but still concerning too ! barely feel eagerly waiting for patch note like Mashu + nue time back then, the merurin's express press hype is no longer , just showowing new characters nowadays
They need more lower priced packs. A 100$ pack is more than a average weekly income in Romania for example. To spend more often a " who cares" pack for a few bucks is easier than think over spending 300bucks on some myst packs that gives you a trashed or nerfed afterwards unit. The only good packs are leif packs...
I love e7 but I'm feeling like the game is definitely on the downturn. Smilegate seems to be devoting less and less resources to the game. I think after the Asepa collab didn't really go their way SG realized the game isn't going to turn around in the way they want. To squeeze the die hard fans they put in the low effort awaken potential. I think the game is in maintenance mode, pump out basic event content, fix bugs and put out new heroes. I don't forsee any new or even returning collabs(Edit: Good collabs, I'm sure GG and ReZero will be back). I hope I'm wrong but the game seems to be on life support to see if they can jump start a good profit or shut it down.
Game has staled, "balance" patches that do next to nothing...or worse, error after error where taking 5 seconds to look over it would have shown they were wrong (Let's be honest, it looks like the English translation team quit and they had the entirely wrong hero put on the RTA skin announcement), no collabs or even re-runs, not testing their own units. Can anyone really be surprised?
Epic7 is undeniably a great game but in my opinion the drop has less to do with content and more to do with balancing because lets be real, the majority of the payer base doesnt play for the pve experience which is the crux of the issue. E7 is so hyper fixated on pushing out new units to make money that they neglect existing units and the new units that are released fall under one of two chatagories: 1. Wayyyyy to OP and 2. Absolute trash that they eventually get around to fixing months down the line when they are no longer relevant due to what ever new units they release during that period of time. Now, I get that at the end of the day E7 is a business and I understand the business model that is in play regarding limited/ml units but if you go into pvp it will always see the same units getting picked/banned when they could make actual substantial changes to existing units in order to add variety and depth to the game but instead we get the same cookie cutter teams and adding new units (although good for profits) further exacerbates the balancing issues. To further belabor the point how many variations of the following do we see on a daily basis whether in pvp or gvg: AOL, Arrowel, ML Landy, Summer Bellona, Karina, Adin, Senya, Both versions of Cheux, Zio, Lilias, Belion and Destina? With over 100 five star heroes to choose from only 15 to 20 get used on a daily basis which is my point of frustration, dont get me wrong; I love the game but im finding less and less reasons to log in.
So I am not a whale, but I am a dolphin. But I've decreased my spending on the game lately due my perception of E7 getting a lot more greedy since Netmarble guy came. The imprint awakening or w/e it was especially pissed me off. Now I'm much more picky about what packs I splurge on, because I no longer trust the devs to have the best interests of the game at heart. I still love E7, but the critical take-away is that the game has lost my trust.
Last rta season really killed my interest in this game: over half the people on ladder just copy the same bullshit teams, either the khm draft (ayufine destina carmin) or the potatoballs draft (flidica veronica cidd). The other half just abuses lua, monk, aol and ddr. It's just been a stale, repetitive, and annoying meta
Am sorry bro but epic 7 turning into pvp only game will eventually run it's course overtime there is no casual pve content to entice the normies and the casual players, E7 chase these players away for the whales and pvp players only, you might think this good thing but in gacha games whales money have a cap, where are the casual and normies money to make up the difference oh yeah they giving it to games like Genshin and Nikke.
new player will always get demotivated when they see how far and hard it is to catch up to old players. Also the drop rate for moonlight are bad. Equipment stat rolling is bad. A lot of the game itself is bad and grindy as hell. Compared to old player that grinded thousands of hours, new players wont ever reach the number of High Equipment Rating + max mola'd characters. That itself the business model E7 is using and it is reaching its end, now that there are many games out there that have better and fairer business model to players paying for the service. Then when the little fishes are drying up, the whales wont get to have the fun of bullying the small fries, which will stop their own spending into the game.
