The issue of people dont understand the consept of infinite punishment is, that people who is in en complete denial of the exsistens of Allah, how Can they ever claim that they find the infinite punishment is inporportionent to a finite crime ? Well. Why does the consept of infinite punishment bother you, if you indeed dont belive in Allah ? Remember the hadith, of the prophet pbbuh and his wife Aisha ra. She asked the prophet about the man who was known as humble, good and feeded the poore and took care of orphants. Would Allah forgive him. The prophet said, that He Will be in hellfire. Because He never Said “rabbil fiqhr’lii rabbil fiqhr’lii” Lord forgive me Lord forgive me. How Can A man who live his entire life, careless of God, claim salvation? Even if his crime was finite

Anas b. Malik reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be u n him) said: It would be said to the non-believers on the Day of Resurrection: If you were to possess gold, filling the whole earth, would you like to secure your freedom by paying that? He would say: Yes. Thereupon it would be said to him: Something easier (than this) was demanded from you (but you paid no heed to it).

It’s very simple, if you’re disbeliever for your entire life then eternal punishment. But if you believe and not do good things, worship and do sins you’ll be judged and punished according to your sin but it’ll be not eternal, somehow you’ll be get out of the hell. So, believe in one true God and save yourself from infinite punishment (infinite according to our imagination, God knows the best).

Yes, this is a fantastic point and on top of that we all know that all of our good deeds together are not enough to gain entry into Jannah, even if we were to worship a thousand years with complete perfection, that would still not be enough to be granted Jannah but we will enter Jannah through the Mercy and Grace and Forgiveness of Allah. Looking at it this way, Allah is far more Merciful and Forgiving than we deserve but it befits His Majesty and Glory to forgive who He wishes and grant His Jannah to whoever He wishes.

This is an amazing point. The way I see it Allah already gave the warnings as to what will cause someone to be in hell eternally so it's up to us to heed that warning and make the choice. Logically it's like if there's a warning sign that said beware cliff falls and someone ignore the warnings and jump of the cliff surely you will stay dead forever even though you jump off the cliff once, you're not gonna die for one second, one minute or whatever. That warning that Allah gave is a mercy to all, if Allah have no mercy Allah will just ignore and let us do whatever we want and tell us to find out for ourselves what it's that will make us go to paradise or hell.

Nice conversation! We as Muslims believe that the almighty creator has infinite knowledge and wisdom. Therefor only he knows best if you're someone who would be willing to bow to him and worship him the way he told you or not whether you live 20 years or infinite years. And most people who refuse to worship god even if they could live infinitely they would never change and worship god. So, based on that the appropriate punishment for them is eternity in hell fire.

Fact is, only worst people according to Allah's judgement will reside in hellfire forever. Why Allah say's because he wants the humans not to cross the limits. Otherwise, people like Pharoh will say, I will burn for 10 years or 1 trillion years, then I will get the paradise in the end. They will have hope. But, if he resides in hell forever, there is no hope for him. Sometimes Allah use fear as well so the oppressors don't cross the limit. When they do, they will reside in hell forever. It's not that Allah doesn't mention it. Allah mentions it in the Quran. No one can claim(if they read Quran or know about it's verses) they didn't get any message from Allah. Best humans according to Allah will reside in Paradise forever, some bad people will have punishments for a certain time, then they will go to paradise and some others will reside in hell forever. Worst

Isn’t the simple answer to this mans very valid question, that there is infinite punishment for a finite action because it’s meant to: A) show the magnitude of the action that’s been done (i.e. shirk - associating partners with Allah), and B) deter a person from carrying out the action. This is done out of pure love for us so we stay on the right path without thinking twice. A bit like the capital punishment.

If god is telling you in advance that eternal punishment in hell is a possibility for anyone and everyone, is that not being merciful in itself? Because he has warned us in advance? Bearing in mind the goal is for everyone to avoid hell, is this not the biggest deterrent imaginable? So if we are told this and we don’t follow through, are we not to blame? In my mind we cannot say god is not merciful if he has already warned us of this. Obviously God is the most just and wise and therefore in his infinite wisdom will decide who goes to hell. (E.g. someone who has never heard of any religion but will he/she still go to hell).

These type of arguments are quite rudimentary to explain with regards to GODS justice and mercy, what they fail to understand is the 3 dimensions. 1st: Heaven 2nd: Hell 3rd: Universe. After the day of judgement the universe and everything in it will be destroyed so we are left with 2 dimensions Heaven and hell and no other place in between, therefore if you deny the KING OF ALL KINGS, the OWNER of the kingdom of Heaven and all things, then how can you have the audacity to enter the Kingdom, the only other place is hell. A person can die but the soul never dies, so you will either live in heaven or hell.. Its pretty simple really...

We Muslim always forget the one most important things that the commandment of "do not speak about something which you have know knowledge of". This is not a intellectual debate rather a debate to change someone's point view, whom just disagree with every agreement even the argument makes sense just so that he can keep this point of view intect. This is a really small discussion to explain very quickly. Allah is Marcyfull Allah is also Just, Allah is the true creator & only He has every right to do whatever he wants with his Creation. If Allah decides that disbeliever are going to ethernal hellfire it's He has every right to do so.He is the one and only who set the rules and we are simply here to obey.

Similarly Here you aren’t considering the magnitude of shirk, associating partner with god. How can he be a good person when he do shirk. He may good with people but if he isn’t worshiping god alone he doesn’t deserve heaven

This is not a good line of argumentation. Harming a baby, which is innocent, is the biggest sin. And a human being cannot physically harm God howsoever. It would make sense if Mohmd instead used the same action, like libel or lying against someone's character as an example instead. You can't libel a tree, there's nothing to libel. If you libel a man, he's is obligated to respond finite damages. Libelling God should then intuitively carry infinite damage for which only God can provide respite (aka atonement through worship).

Also I think the Dawah folks are not able to explain idolatry to laymen. According to my understanding after reading the prophets biography (Martin Ling version), the reason early Muslims destroyed idols was not becuase they couldnt stand them, but because the pagan Arabs kept using them as an excuse to fight the prophet. I believe if the folks in Mecca simply agreed with the Prophet and said that they consider God to be a single entity which is most praiseworthy, then the prophet would've simply acquired Kaaba for Allah and instituted it as a mosque (or made it a museum but not a place worship). The continuous fights with the Muslims of Medina waged on by the Koresh, who called on to Hubal and Baal repeatedly enraged the prophet and he had to finally put an end to this nonsense. Not only Mecca, but the nearby town of Taif also thought of opposing Muslims because they wanted to maintain their revenue from the worship of Al-at and were working with the Bedouin to harass Muslims travelling to and around Mecca. All of this counts as severe transgressions against the believers, hence the command to "strike the non-believers on their necks". In other words, let them reap what they sow.

But still this isn't self-consistent at all(from my perspective which might be wrong). In law, there is something known as Mens Rea and Actus Reus. Mens Rea is basically proving that the conscious of that person is guilty of that crime that they are said to have done i.e did this guy had the intention. And, Actus Reus means to prove that the person in question has done that "ACT". So, on one hand we have, the INTENTION-Mens Rea and on the other hand we have, PROOF OF ACT-Actus Reus. (Hope I'm writing the legal terms correctly). In SHIRK, that is associating partners with Allah, the ACTUS REUS is *confirmed*. However, it is dubious that the MENS REA is *confirmed* in the case of Attribution-al debate by Mohammad Hijab(since Allah's attributes are Infinite, that's why Punishment in Hell would be infinite, for that specific sin of Shirk ONLY). The evidence can be found in many places. It is said in Quran or Hadith that if angels were sent to mankind, they would've believed in Allah immediately(I don't remember the verse of hadith, my bad). And elsewhere, it is also mentioned that one cannot COMPREHEND Allah and His Majesty and His Attributes(well, this is I think I don't have to quote or anything since its basic belief). Moreover, the evidence can be found out of Islamic text- the Graham's Number. A number so big, if you try to imagine your head will become a black hole or something, eve though its not even Infinity. Nonetheless, I think we all can safely agree that imagining or contemplating INFINITY is not the realms of possibility. Hence, it can also be concluded that(I hope so), A MAN CAN NEVER CONSCIOUSLY GO AGAINST AN INFINITE BEING i.e ALLAH. Hence, the MENS REA can never be proven and therefore, NOTHING CAN JUSTIY ETERNAL PUNISHMENT IN HELL. The thing is, "KNOWING" that something is Infinite, referring to Allah, AND "ACTUALLY KNOWING AND COMPREHENDING" something is Infinite, are two different things. One cannot Comprehend Infinity and Hence, one cannot consciously and ACTUALLY go against an INFINITE BEING i.e ALLAH. Well, that's my conclusion, what do you guys think? Also anyone who can relay this to Mohammad Hijab, would love to have a response from the guy himself. Ciao!

how it all comes together is that God can forgive anything, it's up to you to ask for that forgiveness so that you never have to have punishment in the first place. If you dont commit sins against other people; beyond Shirk and Kufr there is no way for you to commit a sin in this life that you couldn't ask God to forgive you for alhamdulillah and inshallah He would not forgive you for repenting.

this is so easy to prove, just on the idea of justice and logic take for example a game, where people can win by following a certain set of rules and those that dont follow the rules loose, so when someone loose they dont loose for some amount of time and then win, they loose forever.(Quran states them as loosers and winners, and also called them sore loosers because they cant admit their loss becuase of their ego which is also what led to Iblees being a sore looser.) the only way they couldve won was following a set of rules which they didnt. OR the game is played again with them knowing the rules (but Allah states that they will again do the same thing because even in the first game they knew the rules but still wouldnt follow) (exception is that when someone is unable to follow the rules and this is where Allah has stated that a valid exception will be entertained in the after life since Allah is all Wise ,Mercyful,Knowing,Just,Powerful. the idea of justice in this scenario is very acceptable to everyone these people just dont want to follow the rules and win as well.

Humbly, a less complicated and a more simplistic argument for why God talks about eternal punishment is that if the punishment for transgression against God was finite, then then whole world would transgress with minimal concern for the gravity of the crime. Afterall everyone will have a happy and blissful hereafter after paying for their crimes and hence the need to adhere to Gods laws and his guidance is minimised and justifiably so given the temptations of the worldly life.

I'd say that's very very naive thing to say, in Islamic Athar there's a hadith about how one person who has been THE MOST blessed in Dunya, basically the one who was THE MOST spoiled in comfort, and is then is "dipped" in Hellfire for a moment, and is then asked : have you ever seen any comfort in your life EVER? have you EVER had anything good in your life? and he would say: O Allah, I'd never seen any such thing! So to think that people would "take their chance" and "go through hell" and pass their way to heaven is just unrealistic in my opinion... I bet you can't bring me ONE sane individual who is willing to spend 60 seconds totally engulfed in flames for anything in this world, and it's reported in hadith that the fire in Hell is SEVENTY TIMES hotter than the fire in this Dunya, and No, the exegesis of this hadith is that what it means is: If any source of fire in this WHOLE Dunya was collected and the flames that it produced was counted as one in terms of how hot it is, the fire in Jahannam (Hell) is 69 times surpassing that one.... You are "playing" with "hellfire" here brother...

This vision of a mean god who criminalizes the freedom to believe by punishing for eternity those who were not convinced about his existence is the saddest and poorest form of theism. Fortunately, those who came closest to God by their purity of heart and mind or by a mystical experience, know that it's a crime of impiety to accuse the one who is the source of all Goodness, of all Love, of being jealous and cruel so that he tortures sentient beings for eternity. Such an abominable blasphemy may seem less odious in the mouth of a savage during barbaric times, who has no other conception of power than that which is expressed by a cruelty altered by blood; but there is not there the shadow of an excuse for people who claim to be civilized. Thanks to advances in medicine and resuscitation, more and more people have experienced a NDE(Near Death Experience), whatever their faith or atheism, they are not afraid of death anymore and are sure that the afterlife is pure knowing, pure bliss and pure love, they felt one with God! They have experienced something that is the opposite of what muslims believe.

it is interesting for me about "the burden of proof" --because it makes clear about the punishment, about how long, about how to serve the sentence----because Allah knows everything, and He knows that human judge, human jury, prosecutors, police officers, or witnesses altogether do not know----even He knows the real intention of people of doing something ---so the eternal punishment does make sense you know, in criminal laws, people get punishment for anything they have done that is considered broken the law----whatever their real intention-----because, simply, we never know the real intention of the person doing that things. and, you know it very well too, if nobody knows about the act of crime or against the law (somehow your accountant know how to manipulate tax system maybe, :)), or somehow the justice system has nothing to prove, or has no evidence, or even they do not have any article or chapter for rules the act---you can go away from human court or they know everything but you hide very well in the island of pacific, ... but since He knows everything, nobody can get away from His judgement and ALSO make sense, because He knows everything, He is mercy and merciful. Just ask for forgiving, and you will be forgiven. So it is also make sense after some time in hellfire, some will get His mercy and then put into jannah. may Allah bless us all

He's basically trying to justify God using science? I didn't know science has any interest of the supernatural since science is trying it's best to prove itself only from a naturalistic POV. And trying to insert the idea of God into only three modes is outrageous. God is omnipresent, therefore his argument falls apart. If he finds the idea of God only as a trinity as something valid, he basically managed figuring out the mystery of God😂
