Which Fable one though? Original, TLC, or Anniversary? All were great IMO! I think fable 2 was also reaaally good. Fable 3 was just fun for maxing out the ice maiden pistol to do speed runs with lol. It did extremely glitched damage once fully upgraded. The final boss fight takes mere seconds and it messes up cutscenes and dialogue lines lol.
@@Studiosmediamilk prefer Fable 1. The size of the world was just perfect. Fighting is fun. And no dumb light leading you to your objective. Also, the artstyle feels on point. Like a Zelda game that is not Zelda.
In the starting scenario, you can take the gold peice from the cheating man as a bribe, then take a gold peice from his wife for ratting him out. You win both ways
If you're fast enough, you can break all the boxes for the guy who has to go to the bathroom and then get back there for the coin for guarding it as well
If i remember correctly the mask that Jack is wearing is possessing the hero that defeated him long ago. Same thing almost happens when you kill him in dragon form.
It can happen when you defeat him in dragon form, just don't click the button. Jack then says. "I told you, it's not easy to kill The Hero!"- Or something like that.
*A* hero that defeated him long ago, maybe, but it should be noted that he was last bested by William, who is in fact *NOT* possessed by Jack of Blades, as he banished him and his buddies from Albion a long time ago. Scythe is rumored to be William, but it was never confirmed.
You can definitely cripple the economy in Fable. It's actually much quicker and easier than in 2 or 3. All you gotta do is buy all stock of an item and then go and sell it all right back.
@@Fizhy yeah, it's super simple. Pretty much right as soon as you get into Bowerstone for the first time you can do it. There's that trader by the gate who sells potions and other trade goods. If you have enough money to buy out all the stock of one of his items (has to be semi high stock at least so the price changes), you can do so at a minimal price. Then you go and "Sell all" back to him for a pretty nice markup. This also works with just about any trader/item in the game.
@@Fizhyupgrade your guile to at least level 5, but if you max it out you can make money way faster. I like to go to the trader camp in Darkwood then buy and sell all the emeralds and jets that the trader has. Always finish by buying out his stock so that next time you visit he’ll have restocked, so you can double your own supply. It’ll accumulate quick.
I played all the fables and grew up with my older brother playing this game in my hay days! I am 22 by brother 31. Games have lost the touch of life to it in my opinion. Fable 1 is a nostalgic boost to my morale and I find myself revisiting it time and time again. It’s so simple yet elegant
Also, knothole glade and knothole island are unfortunately, not the same place. In fable 2 they explain that the people from knothole glade got tired of all the balvarine attacks and found a new island to call home. Kinda disappointing that we never got to see knothole glade again. It was one of my favorite places. It isn't even on the map in fable 3 for some reason
True as that may be, I'm pretty sure that Westcliff from Fable 2 is what use to be known as Knothole Glade, I'm not positive, but if not, it's at least the relative location it use to be, or very similar.
@@WinegedDragoon I mean, knothole glade was on an island, so unless that island crashed into the mainland between 1 and 2 probably not. But in a world of magic, I suppose anything is possible.
@hallows2729 Yea, the map also changed a lot between 1 and 2, not as much as me saying "a lot" means, but still. After all, it was a good 500yrs between the two lore wise, if I remember correctly. So there could have been a good bit of geographical changes.
@@WinegedDragoon I'm not positive on the time difference exactly but I do know enough time passed that people think heroes are basically just fairy tales or long past. The map started off as just old world Britain (aka Albion). Then in 2 they focused on the mainland while making the occasional nod to the surrounding islands. Then in 3 they changed it completely, the knothole glade island is just gone now, either that or it's the secret prison now and they just retconned it's size by a lot. Or I guess the island could have just been chipped away by the tides, something parts of the british isles are known for. But again, magic lol. If a magic tower can press the reset button on civilization I don't see an issue with magical alteration of the land over time. Still wish they would have covered it but they kinda just took themselves less and less seriously with each game. Big part of the company's downfall, granted, not the main cause.
@hallows2729 yea, I love the Fable series, but personally, I gotta admit they went downhill in later games. Also very true, could have just been destroyed or made into something else entirely over time.
19:56 Ackshually... You can buy every house and every business, except in Bowerstone South, where you can only buy the pre-purchaseable house, the indoors item shop, the barber and tavern. The previous owners just have to die first, either by murder, or "accidentally" when guards try to arrest you for vandalism or having your weapon out, while your summoned ghost swords and/or summon is next to a unfortunate person who just happens to die in the ensuing chaos (you don't get blamed for kills by summons). For Bowerstone, you have to have enough reputation/fame to convince the owners to follow you with the "follow" -emote, lead them outside Bowerstone and then stick ´em. Another way is to hire mercenaries, and then cause vandalism, and have the accidental deaths happen that way.
Fireball's splash damage (in TLC at least) doesn't count either. Just manual aim it next to the villagers. You don't get the EXP, but the goal is real estate anyway.
You don't have to kill anybody. Just have them follow you through a loading screen to a new area, have them wait there, and then return to town. You never had to murder all those people, you monster.
I own 5 copies of Fable (2 TLC, 2 original and one anniversary) as well as the limited edition dvd and the game’s soundtrack. It’s my favorite game of all time. On sponsoring a guards break: the guards will turn a blind eye to any crimes you commit. Also if you revisit the road to Bargate prison undead will spawn 3-6 at a time indefinitely. If you use the physical shield spell you can endlessly accumulate combat multiplier. I’ve gotten mine to over 1000… it took several hours though😂.
His original voice was more unique and interesting, and IMO suited his fairly normal, human look. The deep, evil voice almost made it funny that he was even trying to look mysterious and wearing a mask.
@@halo1989100it wasn't, actually. The original, non-Lost Chapters version that was Xbox only had a different, higher pitched voice without the reverb.
Yeah I remember his original voice evokes a similar vibe to The Beast from Over the Garden wall a voice so normal and even a bit on the soothing side coming out of someone so monstrous looking is infinitely more unnerving than giving him the generic demonic voice that they did in Lost Chapters onward.
That character that only appeared once (Rose), way better that she appeared once in the improved versions rather than the zero times she appeared in the original. She was just all of a sudden there in the end battle for me when I was a kid and I was like "who the hell are you? you have your own model and everything, you seem important, did I miss something? what's going on!?"
@@beelzeboss42 Where does she appear a second time in the original? Been looking around and as far as I can tell no, my memory is correct, she only appeared during the end fight in the original.
@@hyllsimon she appears in the Map Room when you return to the Guild after the Wasp Queen battle, rather than go to Bowerstone right away to see Maze you go straight back to the guild and she'll give you the quest card spiel, and then you never see her again until the end game. In TLC, after you meet her in the guild, you do a side quest with her in Darkwood to do with the Summoners that appear after you battle Jack in the Chamber of Fate
But have you noticed that Knothole Glade has a Scarlet Robe statue ( exactly where the chieftain on the white balverine quest) , but our hero suddenly recognises her in the same model statue in the Arena Halls :D:D
Wait hold up you didn’t get the sword “Avo’s Tear” in the lost chapters part? When Briar Rose talks about that it might have been a bad idea to throw away the sword of Aeons the guild master literally right after tells tells apyou and points you in the direction of Avo’s tear.
First game/anniversary is definitely the best just due to the variety in skills and weapon types, definitely feels like more of an RPG than the other games.
Fable 1 was like a dream, a very fun and enchanting dream I wished would never end. Maybe it was because this was on the Xbox and sat on the cusp of gaming's future and shouldered the hopes and dreams all young gamers now in their 30's and 40's today. I myself played this nearly 20 years ago with the greatest of feelings that just on the horizon something really great was coming and it all was all going to start with these new gen games, like Fable.
You can actually accept the bribe and then immediately tell the guy's wife for double the gold pieces, there's even unique dialogue for it if you go back and talk to the guy. It's what I do in pretty much every playthrough.
This game was my childhood. I got an Xbox for my birthday. Original refurbished . I must have played that game more than I played Skyrim. 3000 hours just walking around the world and roleplaying as a master hero that no one is a match for
Fable's demon door and interlude OSTs sticks like a distant childhood of every blokes born in the 80s/90s which played the game in it's hayday prior to even Fable 2's release just like 2009 It has the powerful impression similar to Xbox original's other former exclusive games akin to Ninja Gaiden Black to even early Dead or Alive games
Fable is my favorite, especially the first one. I find it super replayable cause you don’t need to go all three routes of Strength, Skill and Will. You only need one. I’ve beaten the game as a Super hero (all 3) a multitude of two played different ways or just one route only. Currently replaying a Pure Mage however I’ve restricted myself to specific spells and it’s fantastic. Also you can own all houses and building, you only need to get rid of the owners. Commonly you unalive them but if you want to be good you can simply have them follow you outside the town, have them stop and go back. Their home/store is now available to buy. Course the best way to exploit the economy is just buying and selling a ton of a single type of item non stop to single merchant and you’ll be filthy rich 🤣
Funny enough, since profit selling gets you Skill points, you can max out skill at the very start of the game without ever fighting outside the tutorial in the Heroes Guild, just straight up ignore the Wasp Quest and go to bowerstone south and start trading
Buy a house and upgrade it. Put the best trophies on the walls. Break the door, then sell the house. Walk back in, and take your trophies back. The price goes down and buy back the house for cheaper. 😂 Broken economy. The better trophy and house, the more money you make. 🎉
I don't know how you got through the game without making full use of the magic system which I think is the best of all the fable games especially with how you can use it to boost you're other skills like using the magic shield spell with the berserk spell and the double/triple hit spell in combo to make your melee combat op
The weirdest thing of Fable 1 is the most rememberable experience for me was clutch fighting werewolfs in a forest standing next to a house afraid its full of enemies only to stand in a brothel
Nice video! I want to add that sponsoring a guards break will make them ignore crimes commited close to them (in my experience). And you can very much break the economy by buying the entire stock of an item from a trader and then selling it back as the supply and demand system is busted. The trade "exploit" works very well in chicken mode but requires many more items in heroic mode. For example you could sell and re-buy health potions over and over once you have enough, it worked for me at around 100 potions
Ive been playing this on my handheld lenovo legion go lately. Such a great game! Great handheld too tbh! It has been a dream to play Fable on a handheld since I was a kid. I played the original even before TLC came out. A lot of people dont even realize this, but TLC was sort of an expansion on the original, with some changes. In the original fable, the sword of aeons did like 550 damage instead of 230 like in TLC. It kinda worked though, since the magic and all the other stuff was already OP.
I think Fable 1 is honestly the best of the 3, if you take into account how many years old it is this game really has aged like a fine wine and then the anniversary version came out because it was just that memorable that the community thought it deserved a remaster which I fully support :)
The first Fable was definitely the best one. I feel like the series got progressively worse tbh. They kept taking things out of each game, best example is magic powers. I miss the openess and freedom the first Fable gave me. I really felt like my destiny was truly in my hands and I could do anything at anytime which included going from a great dude to a bastard
Fable is a classic game. I love all three games but my favorite order goes Fable 2, Fable 1/Anniversary and Fable 3. Fable is still has more of a RPG feel to it so that I love.
3:13 I laughed so hard, thanks for that. This shows some of the subtle humor of fable, along with your comment 7:48 here. There was that subtle bit of humor in that you could kind of do what you wanted, and certain times it made no sense. I don’t remember how specifically but I think I worked my xp up vs whisper in the beginning by relentlessly beating her
_Fable II_ absolutely is my favorite of the series. I am still distraught that it never got a PC release. Even after all these years, there's still no PC port to speak of. 😭
Ehhhh only if the DLC isn't handled the way it originally was, that was completely scummy on Lion Head's part though idk if that was a them decision or a Microsuck one but it doesn't matter who made that call it was worse than Horse Armor in TES4 as much as people wanna shit on that particular DLC there's plenty that was worse content wise and more scummy...Fables 2 and 3 are good showcases of this fact unfortunately :L
My personal favourite is Fable 1, but really I don't understand why Microsoft doesn't put Fable 2 on PC, because they did it for Fable 1 twice (Lost Chapters and Anniversary, don't know about other markets but it's on steam) and Fable 3 which was removed from storefronts like steam. Whilst Fable 2 never received a PC release bizarrely enough, there are other titles of which I could say the same thing like I would love Microsoft to remaster the Gears of War Trilogy and put it on PC. I feel like a lot of people would buy those two titles on PC.
@@Arcanua you're comparing doc's with full story, and side quests, to a dlc to armor your horse. And claiming the fable dlc's are worse. You don't know what the fuck you're talking about
100% agreed. It was like with 2 and 3 they just kept taking away everything that made fable a great rpg. 2 and 3 are so different and worse imo than 1 they may as well be 2 separate game franchises
Fable 1 is defiantly my favorite out of the 3, the story is great, combat holds weight, the spells feel better imo, and the consequences can be felt as you progress through the game. I love the high fantasy setting a lot, and this game has it in spades. Something I like more about the lost chapters version (and the original) is the pause menu (at least on xbox) is designed to look like a book, and you're flipping through pages. It's a nice touch that ties well into the idea of it being a "fable" or fairy tale.
Fable 1 was just so epic with 2 clean goal posts that drove the story. The arena was so hyped up i felt on pins and needles when i got there, and jack as a final villain was a great final protagonist. Fable 2 obviously didnt want to double down on the exact same notes so it prioritized world building over the overall epicness, but for me that trade wasn't worth it.
All right, and this is going to be an oddly specific question here, did anyone else get the fishing hat and wear it throughout the entire game while being completely evil, by murdering every random merchant they came across, but only choosing good options during the story bits?
Its bin awhile since i played the game but Im pretty sure you can buy any house that is in a area that you can use your weapon. You just have to kill the current owner of the house.
Or if you can get them to follow you, go to the temple of scorm and sacrifice them. You can own almost all, if not all houses and shops this way. Then use the rent money at the temple of avo to "fix" you're alignment if you want.
Theres just no way 1 isnt the best. The sense of mystery and adventure, the genuine want to understand the story and characters, actually having interesting characters... these elements and so many more aspects are not just turned down, but completely gone in the sequels.
Idk I feel like Anniversary somehow made the characters faces uglier? I like the menu interface better too in the original. I think I just prefer Lost Chapters over Anniversary. But I mean, it's basically still the same game lol
@Fizhy If you yuu weren't made aware yet you can buy more then 1 building in any settlement, but if no ones selling you can't buy. So what you have to do is get the owners of the buildings to follow you through a loading screen then dismiss them and when you return their home will be up for sale. Or you can just outright kill them, it pretty much has the same effect but thats not important. Even if you buy everything, and yes almost every building can be obtained, you still can't effect the market through owning the building as you have no control over rent or prices for shop that you own. The passive income is nice but not really needed in Fable A.
I like almost everything about fable 1 better than 2. The main story, spells, quest boasting, enemy variety, clothes and armor, the loot from silver chests and demon doors, and having something as simple as a mini map. I do still enjoy fable 2 and think it improves in a couple ways, but I don’t understand why it’s the fan favorite.
I definitely prefer Fable 2 that is one of my favorite games of that entire console generation never mind the franchise However this original game was one of my favorite games on the Xbox for sure, it was one of those dream come true kind of games for me at the time. The way that it told storytelling and how you were able to interact with the world and form your character was so unique It stood out compared to even other open world RPG prototypes and even in my opinion holds up stronger than some of the ones that came after it It's funny that you are also tackling oblivion at the moment because Oblivion was the game that initially to me managed to outshine Fable, but these days I think Fable holds up way better Sure I also ended up falling hype to the broken promises of Peter molyneux, however despite the fact that he was unable to deliver on the grand scope of the game I thought they delivered on enough of it that it absolutely blew my mind and made it a blast to play through multiple times. There is a certain charm that this game has that is missing from the sequel as well just due to the fact that it can lean into more of the traditional fantasy backdrop that gets lost a little bit with the second game being in more of an industrial age time. But I fell in love with the overall concept for the game and the world of Albion, I loved that I could be a saintly angel or a reviled devil of a character or somewhere in between, I loved the quirky and distinct British humor throughout the game, and I loved that I could be a character with the kind of name that would make people tremble in their boots but yet my accomplishments were mostly that I was a real estate mogul with the world record for farthest chicken punt, who married a different woman in every town and routinely harassed them by inviting them up to bed only to then fart on them and run out the door Phenomenal game lmao
I think Fable 1/Anniversary is mechanically/objectively the best one. The gameplay/combat is not only fun but feels important - if that’s the right word - and memorable. The story is really well paced and despite the Hero of Oakvale never speaking, you can still see the arc he goes on. The world is well designed and feels like a real, lived in world. The tone and aesthetic of the game is consistent, charming and memorable. There’s a lot to recommend about this game and really I think the biggest drawback is how small the areas are, and how many loading screens you’ll be subjected to. But I still overall prefer Fable 2. A lot of it is probably nostalgia but I think it is a better experience even if mechanically all the pieces are there in Fable 1 moreso than it’s sequel.
While you can't really crash the economy like in the other games, you can slaughter the townfolk and then buy their houses only to rent them out. So yes, you can own every building in the game that's inhabited :)
This was the only fable game I've ever played and not going to lie i abused the hell out of the glitch involving the arena and the giant scorpion boss in it. I went out of my way to max out both evil and good or as I called it my paladin run
The more these Fable videos I watch, the more I begin to understand its charms more. I never really tried to understand much of it other than "silly English fantasy game with haphazard storytelling", but now I seen the potential it had and how I kept returning to it. I'm hoping, despite the red flags, that the soft reboot realizes the freedom of choice this game had for role-playing.
2:49 Ackshually the heroic mode also increases enemy damage and reduces the amount of health and mana potions in shops. It also stops you from insta-killing every boss with a single multi arrow. I.e. it's not exactly "hard" -mode, more like Normal mode, but still, it's a good change.
If you kill everyone in Oakvale and Knothole Glade, you can buy up all the properties, also the Darkwood Bordello is a source of income once you do the activities related for it
You CAN crash the economy with these actions: 1- as soon as you have the freedom to purchase items, purchase green or red apples, as they are the most abundant item. 2- have a gift item or multiple, and you may choose any gift items. 3- go to a general vendor that is willing to purchase and or sell, food items and gift items. 4- highlight the apples and click sell, but while clicking sell, push the d-pad, or whatever the change menu key is for the computer, left. 5- you know it worked when you see the gift items sell amount being the same as the amount of apples. 6- sell. 7- purchase a single gift item of every type, and keep purchasing apples. 8- repeat. I have made literal billions, and it is just fun.
Honestly I'd be okay with a challenge option that let you pick between the ability to die, and immortality. Because I found the combat in Fable III on Fable 2 difficult, even if you can get knocked out if you're trying to get that achievement where you can't get knocked out or you have to start the entire game all over again it's still challenging. So I prefer it give the players the option to have the ability to not die, but playing on that difficulty level would come at the cost of not giving you as much experience points. So if you chose the ability to die it would give you more experience points. And if you chose Minecraft hardstyle mode it would basically give you the most experience points but it would erase your file if you died😂
Sponsoring a guards break means that they'll either wander off a short distance, or stay in place and expressly NOT look at you. It was meant as a mechanic to help with breaking into shops and houses with the Lockpicking ability you got from Guile. It lasts one literal minute, and only affects guards. NPC's and other guards could still see you. Guards had to bribed individually, and if a regular NPC saw and reported to a bribed guard, it zeroed the timer and they would start going after you. || Sooo... you're technically not wrong when simplifying the statement, "You could sponsor a guards break, which does literally nothing." As literally almost all the time, it simply was not worth it, as you when you use the Steal command from the same Guile tree, you'd only get 1 of the items on the display, assuming you were not caught in the process as oppoaed to the buy/sell process which gave you access to the entire NPC's stack.
I remember the bandit camp quest. If you can aim well, you can shoot the bandits in the head and they will die. You can do that instead of sneaking to get past the gate.
I wish you used more magic it expands the combat and makes it more in depth. Its easy to fall into hack and slashing in fable 1 and not experience the whole combat systems. You can easily kill two trolls by using shield which protects you and consumes mana instead of health, using multiple hit which multiplys the damage you do with sword, as well as using enflame could have taken those trolls out with ease. Using more spells gives the combat more depth.
Fable 1 had proper cutscenes that Fable 2 took out. The Hero in 2 never changes their expression (the rare time you can see it). Fable 1 also didn't lean into the Monty Python style humour that 2 and 3 did - it gets old quickly. You can also die in combat, which is nice. The villain requires a fight instead of nothing, like Lucien and Logan. There's no annoying dog. The magic has variety. Guns aren't OP. Clothing has armor stats. You can punch children. Fable 1 is the best.
While i still enjoyed fable 1, its still forever plagued in my mind. I pre ordered and got fable day 1, i remember rushing home from school and getting my dad to take me to gamestop to get my copy. I 100% it in one sitting in 9 hours. I had fun, but was highly dissapponted. I was 14 or 15, and wasnt used to the game industry over hyping games yet, and was my first introduction to Peter Molyneux (though i had already played black and white, and loved it, i never heard of peter yet) Peter Molyneux said so many lies about this game, i dont remember exactly, but it was like sean murray from no mans sky but worse (at least from what i remember, it was a long time ago) peter made this sound like the everything game, go and do whatever you want, play forever, huge world, great character development, the best rpg ever. When i 100% it in one sitting, i felt so angry and lied to. The game was a series of narrow hallways, very light rpg elemts, basic story, very little to no freedom. Fable 1 was the first and last fable i played. Peter Molyneux was one of the worst video game shills, i never believed anything he said again. And then i remember him showing off this lame milo kid thing for the xbox kinetic years later, and knew everything he showed fornit was just a lie, and nothing ever came from it lol. He did make black and white though, and i really loved that game.
Have you ever played Kingdoms of Amalur? Quite different to Fable in a lot of ways but whenever I'm trying to think of games similar to Fable this one always pops into my mind first (and is pretty much the only one I can think of that ticks enough boxes). Anyway, would love to see a video from you about it.
if you ever wanted to check it out I'd recommend prioritising getting to "Relentless Assault" in the Might skill tree rather quickly as it prevents you from getting interrupted on hits while active. Also, Chakrams are the coolest weapon (imo).
Amalur is a great game. And yes, I agree, he is the spiritual successor of Fable. I hope that if a 2 is made, they will make a world with real consequences.
The economy in Anniversary is kind of broken if you know how to exploit it. For instance, if you purchase all the perfume bottles in Oakvale, then proceed to sell them back, you will gain more gold each time. You can repeat this process with other more expensive items like gems. When you have all of them, just sleep until the vendor's inventory is restocked, and buy more. This will continue netting you more gold every time you buy everything and sell it back. The idea here is the NPC offers a discount to you when he has a lot in stock. On the other hand, when he has none in stick, he will be more willing to pay you more money. You can amass 500k in just under an hour of starting the game.
0/10 because you can't cripple the economy? Did no one tell him? That's a shame. Though it was interesting watching someone play this game while knowing so little of the secrets, exploits and tricks.
Fable 2 improves upon the original Fable in a lot of ways, but the invisible walls were a turn off. The game needs an anniversary treatment. Fable 3 felt too linear, and I despised how broken the interactions were with NPCs. At the very least though, they improved upon the income system. This game wasn’t as bad as Angry Joe made it out to be though back in the day, even if the sanctuary was a step-back.
27:30 I like more farming two zombies in the passage to the prison, after the Isle of Man looking stage. There are one hit if you have The Harbinger or more power weapon, and with a magic shield, you can get a mil XP in less than an hour, which is like almost skills upgrades! 😂
The Fable economy is extremely fragile in this game just like the rest. All you need to make infinite money pretty quickly is buy all the diamonds in bowerstone, then sell them right back to the same guy. Price is tied to supply so when he has many diamonds he sells them for cheap, and when he's sold them all he'll pay lots for one. As long as you buy and sell the whole stock he'll make you rich in no time. Also murdering people makes their homes available for purchase
I grew up on TLC and always found it to be the best one. It was heavily simplified compared to the sequels (obviously). But. The magic systems and story was just so much better.
They are both fantastic, fable 2 rode the hype perfectly and came out with an improved game in almost every aspect (magic system). I thoroughly enjoyed both all the way through.
I haven't beat anniversary yet but I have the other two and I think number 2 is my favorite so far. I wish they would've kept the visual change in 3 instead of just when charging up (looked cool when charging up though)
I nuked the absolute crap out of the economy in Bowerstone North by buying all of the gems ec m and then selling all but one of each. By buying them all, I created a shortage which meant the merchant would buy them at an increased rate from me so that he could replenish his stock. Because he bought them so, he ended up with a surplus so he began selling them at a discounted rate. I just kept repeating this process over and over again and (albeit slowly) started raking in the gold
Its really a shame they didint do a Fable 2 anniversary edition. That game was just a lot of fun to play, even if the combat wasnt as challenging. Fable 1 and 2 are amazing.
First time I ever played Fable 1 on original Xbox I only !levelled up strength, then got owned by Maze later on so started over and leaned heavily into spells.
yeah, the whole dying thing gets real with this game. the first time that I played it, I was not prepared for the arena, and ended up starting the last round with no resurrection phials or health potions, and just enough health to die from a single hit.....it took me a good 2 hours to beat that round.
You actually can buy all property (though shop income to purchasing price is terrible), but it's janky. If you want to keep morality high you get the homeowner to follow you and take them to any nearby wilderness and let the enemies kill them. Go back to town and their house is for sale, which you can immediately buy and rent out. After about 3 days in game NPCs repopulate
How the hell did more than twice as many people say Fable 2 was their favorite? The first game is far and away the best, and everyone I know feels the same way. I actually just had this exact conversation with several of my old high-school friends a few days ago (on account of the latest Fable 4 Trailer)
The only thing I overtly remember fondly about this game is that your hair color would change from brunette to black or blonde depending on your alignment. However I did not care at all for the horns or halo so I played the game only slightly evil of slightly good just for the hair color.
The base game, though I still like it more than 2 and 3, felt very unfinished without the dlc. I never got to play the lost chapters as a kid so when anniversary came out and I got the itch, fable 1 with its dlc is THE definitive fable
no video on youtube has a complete playthrough .they never show the moral choices mini games that play as loading screens if i recall. was looking for all these for a art project. but cant find any online.
One of da best 1) GTA 4 2) Fable 1 3) Skyrim 4) Witcher 3 5) Red Dead 2 6) Sleeping Dogs 7) Assassins Creed Brotherhood 8) Oblivion 9) San Andreas 10) Mass Effect 1
