Histamine intolerance due to MCAS or DAO deficiency create severe gut issues. Learned this while having long covid. Did genetic testing and confirmed DAO deficiency. When I flare I eat low histamine but most of the time ketotifen helps control the gut/histamine issues. Found out after long covid that I have hypogammaglobinemia + specific polysaccharide antibody deficiency better known as Common Variable immuno deficiency (CVID). I get 3 weekly IVIG which helps with fatigue. But still don't know where the early onset of osteoarthritis comes from. Maybe due to hypermobility. Since having had covid the neuropathy is horrible.
I have Hashimoto’s and am starting to worry I am developing Fibromyalgia. Not even sure it’s worth it going to a doctor. Going to try and control my pain with diet and yin yoga
I think you’d know if you have fibromyalgia, it’s a consistent pain it seldom goes away ,well for me anyway. It’s a pain that’s hard to explain, it’s mixed with nerve pain as well. I really like this Dr and he has fibromyalgia, he totally understands the fibro pain. I think one day they’ll say it’s definitely an autoimmune disease. There’s lots of autoimmune diseases in my family, scleroderma, thyroid and celiac disease. I truly hope you don’t have it 🙏
I have vitaligo , lichen planus, intermittent asthma, intermittent pemphigus, and fibromyalgia,, guess what otherwise healthy at 80, but no doctors have ever acknowledged any links to autoimmunity and fibro,,, so what is right or wrong . Fibromyalgia for 50yrs, has this created autoimmunity or otherway round. If autoimmunity causes fibro, would steroids or prednislone on short courses give some relief. When on prednisilone for pemhigus fibro goes into remission for a short while.
Doctor apologies for the question, my mum has fibromyalgia type pain, she improved by taking biotics (embrel, humira) because she was diagnosed in my country with an autoimmune disease that was discarded in the UK. We know the biotics work but now they don't want to prescribe them. How can I proceed?
Yeah, it may sometimes work in some patients, while in others they may not getany relief.
