Having not gone to film school or studied it at all, I may sound biased but I really have never felt like i missed out by not going. Especially Wedding specific, you learn so much more on the job. Stuff you could never learn at school..
Agreed. If my life were different 10 years ago, I may have gone, and I feel like I missed out on a "heads up" on technique, but yeah, like he says in the video, no one cares what my degree in. My degree was in business which frankly, I think has served me better in my business. Another topic altogether; the purpose of college is dwindling. Especially considering the costs
No we did not go to film school. We don't post our wedding's on RU-vid we just have vimeo and Instagram. But we learned alot from you and your wife. We just started fall 2017. And so far we have done 5 wedding's. We later purchased your forestry film luts and followed your tips and techniques for a wedding we had in May and by far it's been the best film we've done 😭😭😭 happy tears.I'm sure we still have lots to learn. But thanks for all the amazing videos ECT.
my background is print journalism. I didn't know what exposure or aperture was a couple years ago and now I'm filming about 50 weddings this year and *now* pricing at $2500, having started at $700
I went to school for photography... I really enjoyed the process of learning step by step how photography works BUT I did learn everything about "wedding photography" on the job.
