Is frequency separation safe? How to preserve your photo quality 

good that finally someone talked about the issue and offered a solution, but I feel like people are using the blur layer (low freq) for heavy editing (like even bluring) and these small residual details can be lost during editing.

any chance that Median can be used instead of gaussian? When gaussian is used, it makes product retouching take so much longer.
