Is Georgia the BEST Team in College Football | Kirby Smart, Carson Beck 

We need to retire the lazy myth that Georgia had a cupcake schedule in 2023. These are the final ranked Top 10 teams and the number of final ranking Top 10 and Top 25 programs each played in the regular season. Only three played more than one other program to finish in the Top 10 during the regular season, and Georgia was one of them: 1. Michigan: 1 Top 10 (OSU), 3 Top 25 (+ Penn St, Iowa) 2. Washington: 1 Top 10 (Oregon), 2 Top 25 (+ Arizona) 3. Texas: 1 Top 10 (Alabama), 4 Top 25 (+ Kansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St) 4. Georgia: 2 Top 10 (Missouri, Ole Miss), 3 Top 25 (+ Tennessee) 5. Alabama: 2 Top 10 (Texas, Ole Miss, ), 4 Top 25 (+ Tennessee, LSU) 6. Oregon: 1 Top 10 (Washington), 1 Top 25 (same) 6. Florida State: 0 Top 10, 2 Top 25 (+ LSU, Clemson) 8. Missouri: 1 Top 10 (Georgia), 2 Top 25 (+ LSU, Tennessee) 9. Ole Miss: 2 Top 10 (Alabama, Georgia), 3 Top 25 (+ LSU) 10. Ohio State: 1 Top 10 (Michigan), 3 Top 25 (+ Notre Dame, Penn St)

Regardless of how any haters in the comments feel. Kirby is still the best coach in college football. As great as Saban was Bama did not win it every year, when majority of the seasons they were the favorites to win it all. Kirby hasn’t even turned 50 yet, will go on another championship run before it’s all said and done. Go Dawgs!

We also need to retire the idea that Carson Beck's play was the reason Georgia lost to Bama - he had an 84 QBR in that game. The offense continues to get far too much blame. Both the offense and the passing game delivered in that game. These were the yards per pass when we played Bama and when Michigan played them: Georgia against Bama: 8.4 YPP Bama vs. Georgia: 8.3 YPP Bama vs. Michigan: 5.0 YPP Michigan vs. Bama: 8.2 YPP We got more YPP than Michigan, got more points and yards in regulation than Michigan. What was different? They made Milroe's life miserable, and we did not. They bottled up the Bama passing game and we did not. It was defensive underperformance, pure and simple. We over-respected his mobility by spying him and that made him a better passer. The Wolverines just came after him all day and he never got too comfortable. LSU, one of the most explosive offenses in the history of the sport, only managed 28. The offense (with the hobbled Brock and Ladd) getting 24 on THAT Bama defense did their job. The defense rolling over for THAT Bama offense when that was our most stacked side of the ball was a big underperformance and should be getting the blame for the loss.

Funny thing is ladt yr you knew who to prepare for each week with them having bowers and ladd this yr everyone has got to play the guessing game so wich will give Georgia the edge

The "easy" schedule you refer to included Mizzou who beat OSU. It was an easier schedule than this year but cut the propaganda about a cupcake schedule. I don't hear anyone telling us OSU had a "cupcake" schedule. This year is a schedule us Dawg fans relish. We believe we can go all the way again this year and the only factor that can get in the way is how fast can they learn how to function as a team. It's been Georgia's to lose for the last three years.

OSU has the best roster, and UGA hasn’t beaten a top 10 team on the road since 2018 Kentucky. You probably forgot UK was even ranked that high. They’ve only played one other in that span (2020 Bama). UGA will play 2 or 3 top 10 teams on the road this year.

Imitation is the purest form of flattery…Kirby is excellent leader and Coach. But - he modeled his program after Saban’s model. Yes he’s added his tweaks. Heck he even went out and got Monken to upgrade his offense (think Kiffin and Sark at Bama). I don’t ever hear people comparing Bama to UGA. It’s always the other way around. That said, if anyone can come close to accomplishing what Saban did at Bama, Kirby is it. I will say this though, and it is an intriguing thought…Kalen DeBore is a masterful offensive mind and leader. AND, he’s inheriting a loaded roster with a superior staff. I submit if Heupel had inherited this kinda roster (with his offensive mind) when he came to TN, it would be UT that we’re talking about. The jury is out on DeBore and Bama til proven otherwise. But don’t beat surprised if they “surprise” the Bulldogs yet again in Tuscaloosa this year. Just saying….
