Is Going to Michigan's Adventure WORTH IT? (2024) 

New subscriber here. MA is my home park, and I know a lot about the park. A few fun facts: 1. Shivering Timbers is the last new construction rollercoaster built at Michigan's Adventure. There was a Morgan hyper planned for the area in the woods between Shivering Timbers and Grand Rapids/Thunderhawk, even going so far as to have had some of the footers poured. Then Cedar Fair bought the park from the Jourden family, they canceled the hyper, installed Camille Mark-Jourden as head of park operations, and investment in the park dropped to nothing. 2. GCI just did a partial retrack on Wolverine Wildcat two winters ago. It turned a terrible woodie into a passable one. 3. Our Wild Mouse is an Arrow original to the park; for some insane reason, they only have one car on the layout as a time, so best practice is to start your day on wild mouse at rope drop; plus, it's relatively close to the entrance. 3. They repaired a nasty pothole in the offseason (the upswing after the first drop), but there's one just as nasty on the up from the second drop. If your viewers go, keep that in mind if you are prone to back injury at all. Hopefully we'll get some new investment from the merger: maybe a retrack?

I agree with you on Shivering Timbers and Wolverine Wildcat! I went during a trip to Cedar Point and it was well worth the drive.

Shivering Timbers…. “Phenomenal - Phenomenal Coaster” !!! 😮 Could not agree more! Man I really need to get to Christmas town and ride this Voyage everyone is placing ST second to.

I'm glad every time that I have been to. An amusement park or theme park that all the rides have been open.

I really enjoy my visits to this park. Wolverine Wildcat and Shivering Timbers are quite a bit of fun. I feel like Timbers is a front row ride, it had quite a bit of jackhammering in the back last year and I feel like that first drop needs the Beast treatment. At Cedar Point, we are blessed with a corkscrew that has an airtime hill and a loop. I really feel like the MA corkscrew is lacking without those.

I like wolverine wow cat better than shivering timbers. It was pretty rough when I went on it but shivering timbers they did some re-tracking work like two years ago I think running great.
