I‘ve been playing mario kart wii since I was young and even now when I play it once in a while there are still characters missing and honestly never bothered to look it up apart from funky kong.

so what u need to do get 3 stars on every cup like rosalina on the wii? to me it's weird that you can unlock almost everything with coins and then need to play offline for something i might never use. gold mario must be a heavyweight i guess, only class i used but as far as the gold kart goes.. why isn't there a gold bike? since karts i don't use
@@theelitegamer1980 It would be neat if there was a golden bike. Ultimately I'd likely use the Master Cycle Zero with BOTW Link more often but it'd still be nice.
@@Life_tbh I don't recall which goes to what, but the unlock requirements for full gold are gold cup in every mirror mode prix, gold cup in every 200cc prix, collect 5000 coins, and beat all the time trial staff ghosts. Luckily, you only need the base game tracks, not booster course.
Actually, gold Mario is Metal Mario except is gold version. Edit to add: to use gold Mario after unlocking him, you have to select Metal Mario first and then choose gold Mario from there.
I wish they done something similar to MARIOKART 7. Half of the roster in MK7 was unlock able through cups and I think personally it’s better having them as unlockables than just getting all 50 or whatever for free
@@yasgamer Still, they had like 30 characters in MK8 and I don’t think they did unlockables. I think for 8 Deluxe they could’ve at least made the new characters like Link, etc. unlockables
hmmm, pro if you turn off weapons maybe.. you can also say wow you spend many hours on the game. i never even cared about 150cc, because i unlocked almost everything online.. and i never use karts so to unlock a golden kart for me is useless.. 200cc i never played they added it in the last dlc on wii u i think.. but kids decided to choose moo moo meadows 10x in 1 hour.. while i just bought rainbow road (and did not play offline) so i buy dlc to play old tracks.. it pissed me off and i never played again

whats funny is that for all of the grand prix i had used metal mario only, and thought that if i did that (every grand prix) with another character they would turn gold as well
No joke, I didn't even realize this is how I got him. Me and a friend of mine have made it our personal mission to get every star on all the grand prix races, and it's been a fun journey indeed! Just have the mirrored races and the new maps in 200cc left

@@rainywolf4443 well i like playing games, but they need to be fun. mario kart 8 is not fun because i've played the same game in 2014 on the wii u. people that play mario kart now never had a wii u. i'm 42 now and many games just annoy me, like wwe 2k22.. wwe 2010 was better gems of war makes no sense with it's random rewards. nba playgrounds was nice but idiots added powerups like in mario kart so you could make 10 pointers onrush i loved but 6 vs 6 not make any sense, since yeah go find 5 friends who play onrush when you are older then 12 XD evolve was cool but crashed and also had gay players that would kill a level 1 monster when it's clear to see it was his 1st time playing.. i not wait a long time for the match to start just to end it in 1 minute. mario kart needs to be random that means all tracks need to be played and in 2014 i got moo moo meadows many times in 1 hour.. now with waluigi it just looks stupid if everybody is using the same combination.. it's all about stats that's why many county's are scam in fifa, if you are a supporter of the netherlands and then play with other country's because of a higher rating.. kinda stupid.. you see in 2014 i bought the dlc after not playing mario kart for 6 months, i got a very easy win on snes rainbow road and why is that? the others love moo moo meadows which is a noob track

I must admit, I did miss not having more unlockable characters in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I have fond memories of unlocking new characters in Mario Kart DS, playing for hours just to get Dry Bones, or Waluigi, or ROB, and it would have been fun to get something like that in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I know you can unlock Karts in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, albeit based on coin acquisition rather than winning races, and that - realistically - these matter a lot more than characters, but it just doesn't hit the same. I definitely hope they bring unlockable characters back for Mario Kart 9, or whatever they call the next one.
Compared to Waluigi you might be giving up a slight bit of speed but that is made up for the fact that your weight allows you to bump common combos and a smaller hitbox that might just save you one day
i dont get wiggler plus roller, it controls horribly (yes i’ve tried waluigi) unless there’s some hidden atv feature i dont know about the i cannot see wiggler plus roller being viable in anyform
i was really disappointed that you couldn't unlock characters, unlockables give you a reason to play the game solo! sure i unlocked gold mario which took a long time, but i don't even use him so it doesn't feel rewarding! it would've been cool if it was like smash where you start with a small roster and unlock a ton of characters as you go. also kirby and captain falcon should've been playable characters they both have racing games
but in ctr there is something called champion wheels which can be collected by completing every time trial against the top racers and most people had those wheels wolfy playz was one of them in a few retries and chilled unlike the other one who spent like 50 retries to complete the first one
well since i played mk 8 in 2014 you can never expect me to play it on switch to get 100% on the wii u 200cc came later i think, but yeah most i unlocked by playing online
I miss the fun of unlocking your favorite character! I remember how long it took me to get Toadette on Wii, so tedious but worth it! Got everyone but Dry Bowser

Just wanna throw it out there that the wild wiggler + rollers is the meta for any character on 150 and biddybuddy + rollers is the meta for any character on 200
I don't care about the statistics, I use the all gold combo of gold Mario, gold kart, gold glider, and gold wheels. I still win 1st place so it proves you don't need the perfect setup to win
Quick guide for all mk8d players: Gold kart: Gold cup all 150cc Gold wheels: beat all staff times (the nin⭐️ names) in time trials. Gold Mario: gold cup all 200cc Gold glider: collect 5,000 coins in total (You can view these in stat in the main menu) All of these will be done in the base game, you do not need to do the time trail and cups for the new dlcs
