Is Grid Legends GOOD with a Wheel? | A Sim Racers Review 

What's your opinion of Grid Legends? A game with potential? 😉

Misleading title. 5 minutes into the video and I still have no idea if a wheel is any good with this game!

I'm not a sim racer, just a casual racer who recently bought a g920, and I'm having a lot of fun with it, more than FH5, which also works great with a wheel.

As a sim fan it's a game that you have to approach with a different mindset... Just have fun

Been spending close to 10hours on this with a controller. Gonna try with my logi wheel soon! Wont be expecting much coming from ACC and Forza background.

Great video I found this game for $13 usd in a bargain bin at Walmart. Game is quite fun with a racing wheel.

It's a fun simcade. Plays so much better than Forza motorsport on a wheel(which is a shame because the physics and content is better on Forza). I think there are too many city circuits and not enough real-life circuits but the real track racing there is in this game is pretty strong. . I'd say it's worth it for like 20-30 bucks. Not full price.

I do hope they buff the AI because they're way to slow in corners and then cheat on acceleration and speed to keep up. Which is a shame because this is actually a good racing AI and wouldn't need that with a buff, so if you're considering to buy it and aren't that fast, you're gonna have a good time fighting through the field. However the story... it's good and bad. Took my about 6 hours to complete the story at highest difficulty without aids and I only had to redo 3 races (1 because of a bug). I do have to say that I was a tad underwhelmed by the story at times, especially in the middle it started to slowly slack off until it picked up once again and continued to be good til the end. The amount of cars is great and physics are awesome as well as enjoyable and understandable. Rain & snow however are only visual and don't change the physics of your car. I'm glad that I don't have to do a fully fletched review of the game cause I'd have a hard time deciding on an end score. The racing is great, however the AI is too slow for the really fast drivers. The Story at times is great but really cringe. I'd still always recommend someone to buy GRID Legends if they are in 2 minds about buying it. I was, and I don't regret that I bought it :)

I'd like to get this just for the single player custom races, especially drifting. So far I've only been using the wheel for the F1 games and would like to be able to have some fun racing more 'regular' cars. Hope this game will be alright for me if I don't care much about the story or multiplayer.

I couldn't play with my Xbox Elite controller (on PC), I'm terrible at giving subtle inputs. However, when I switched to my Fanatec racing rig, and adjusted the settings of the wheel, it was actually fun to play. So yeah, use a wheel. You don't have to spend thousands, you can get the good Logitech G920/G29 that works with PC, Xbox, and PlayStation for $300. P.S. Fanatec is pronounced like fanatic. Playing on CSL DD and the FFB is the worst I've ever played with. it's just really weird and doesn't feel anything like driving a car

If u have a good wheel pedal shifter brake and motion seat, the game is a blast. Racing serious, is well not so serious. Setting up ur vehicle is easy, and it makes a difference. Its funny, if you actually try to drive a clean race, the AI will do something to make you say, oh well I was trying to be nice, now you F'rs pissed me off, then you leave them in the dust.. well maybe in the dirt, :) Love the San Francisco Maps(Tracks). Awesome with a good set-up, you feel all the motion as if you are driving a real vehicle, and as the vehicles change so does the feel of them.. Its an Arcade Sim done very well.. they should have named it GRID EVOLVED..

With a good sim set up one can really have fun being Aggressive, without being penalized, this game rewards u for driving like a fool.. somewhat, 🙂

For my opinión it’s one of the best racing games to play with steerwheel! It Looks similar to Raceroom as Physic , of course its much more arcade but im having so much fun with this game! 9/10

It is now 2024. I purchased Grid Legends because I had 2 other previous GRID games and enjoyed them both. They are all a change of paste and just entertainment compared to our normal SIM racing games. I just wanted to select a car, a track, and go racing a few laps depending on what the game would let me do. Not worried about the graphics and most the tracks are fictitious, so I just like doing the racing. I use a wheel controller and works well with all 3 GRID games I have. I been modding Rf2 for few years now,i never could get how Codemaster could miss the center of pivot in 3d objects(vehicles)so wrong to make this garbage.All vehicles that have front steer must have the center of pivot located at the rear differential for turning right and left,thats regardless of what ever could the game be called or homologation.

I was a TOCA games fan back in the day. Just picked up GL on the Playstation Store for on sale at 90% discount, the proverbial "no brainer". Playing on a Logitech G29 wheel. Yes, the FFB is mediocre. I feel this game is similar to Project CARS 3 in a number of ways. I do prefer the career structure of GL with the free default cars and the car list comparable, just wish the physics were also comparable. Codemasters does know how to do it better, they could have set this arcade level of handling with assists on and programmed a more satisfying feel when the driving aids are turned off. As it stands, I can hurtle around Brands Hatch in a gear or two higher than in other games.

I'm still looking for a full on sim racer with an open world aspect as well as real life things like pedestrians and being able to wander around that open world outside the car. I guess I want reality ;)

I bought it from Steam tried to setup with wheel and it was an absolute dumpster fire. I was a Grid fan till now.

Let me answer, yes g29 works great but dont expect it to feel like a sim

TBH, this game is wayy to much arcady for being a sim game, physics and vehicle mech is so funny at times, i tried on free trial , was not really impressed with it, it just feels like a mobile game on pc. even forza horizon 4, 5 and arcade game gives you more liberty to do what you wish to with your car, turns brakes feel more real in that as compared to this. cant even compare this to ACC or AMS 2, those are miles ahead of this. even F1 2021 game, simcade feels more better than this in terms of driving and car control.

Apart from the cheesy story GRID Legends is way too much like the 2019 reboot. I'll probably wait until a sale before getting this one.

The cars sound like cheap hoovers, the car physics is non existant, all cars drive totally alike. Deleted the game after finishing 3 races on „hard“ first place with half a minute gap. Laughable

Its pretty bad isnt it. Full on arcade game with neutered physics and AI.
