Tucked in to a little corner of the Bahamas is Little San Salvador Island -- known now as Half Moon Cay. Aptly named for the crescent shaped white sand beach, it is the private island -- and popular passenger stop -- for both Carnival Cruise Line and Holland America Cruise Line.
There are many rental options at the beach, ranging from shady beach clamshells (around $39 for two people) to the higher end retreats (around $1600). On my trip, we were invited to review one of the cabanas, which normally rent for a little over $400 and are designed for up to four guests.
The cabana was an outstanding treat, and made the hot and humid day much more enjoyable. The star of the show, that day, was of course the crystal clear ocean water and the soft-as-powdered-sugar white sand beach.
