Watching this again as I'm heading for County Durhamshire for a few days next week and your video has inspired me to plan a visit to Hamsterley Forest next parkrunday. Super excited, those monkey bars will be a challenge! 🌲🏃♂🌲
We had Roger P as a tourist at our Parkrun today, he came for breakfast with us afterwards and had his ‘With me now’ gear on. As soon as my wife saw his WMN hoody, she said “do you know Nicola?” 😊
@@NicolaRuns yes, it was our pacer week, so Roger paced 35 mins. We’re quite a small event in terms of participation (ave 77 per week) but he complimented us for being very friendly volunteers. We had a nice chat with him over breakfast 😊
@@RMSM0204 I always prefer going to smaller events as they're much more friendly because there's not an overwhelming number of people. I love pacing events 😃 I used a wonderful pacer last week at Huddersfield to get a course PB 🎉
@@RMSM0204 you might have to keep waiting 😜 as I've filmed Harrogate before then I didn't film it. Next video is Marple parkrun over Manchester way... Stockport to be exact 🏃♀️😃
What a lovely place. I can imagine that it would be even better in the middle of the year. Can you combine any other achievements (letters, etc) with the Wilson numbers that you need?
You're right, warm weather and sunshine make everywhere better although given the time of year we were very lucky! It's hard to justify revisiting parkruns far from home when there are so many parkruns I've never been to! 🙃 I'd totally love to though 😍
Hamsterley parkrun looks awesome Nicola. I've done a couple of parkruns recently, my first since February 2020 just before the lockdown started. I took it steady for the first one back but last Saturday I wanted to test my fitness so ventured to Dulwich parkrun in South East London which is a pretty fast course as relatively flat and 3 laps on smooth tarmac paths. Dulwich tends to attract a lot pretty fast runners (sub 15 mins) and there is a different vibe there to some other parkruns where the atmosphere is more chilled and laid back. I managed 22.03 so will go back in a few weeks and have another go but plan on doing some parkrun tourism as well where I can take it easy and enjoy the sights. All the best for 2023.
Oh wow!!! That's an awesome run! 💪 Interesting to hear it's a different vibe, I've never run there before. Enjoy your tourism and good luck beating that time if you go back 😃
Have you done Rushcliffe parkrun? We had a fab time there yesterday - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JKC7QNlcc9s.html - so much to explore and do for Iona and Ewan, definitely recommend. Looks like we will have to check out Hamsterley soon to compare 😀
Great video of one of my favourite parkrun. BTW your recent video influenced my decision to run at Newbiggin-by-the-Sea a couple of weeks ago. So thanks!
What an amazing Parkrun!!! I need to get to more of the woody runs. A while back I mentioned the Two Castles Run - entries open 1st March if you fancy it!!
Yes I love the forest runs! There's something so special about them! I'm not around that weekend or I'd definitely look at entering. Thanks for the reminder 👍😃
Great fun , monkeybars while stuffed with cake lol , just think when Al completes his van you can " borrow " it and have cozy naps before a run , he left himself wide open for van larceny im afraid 🤣🤣
Great video! Such a lovely reminder of a beautiful parkrun! I particularly enjoyed pretending to be an airplane coming down the twisty hill! But my son was having none of it and just said "what are you doing mummy?" 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I got told off by Poppy for not putting my wings out on the turnaround bit of the out and back AND for not jumping off the rock on the chicane! There's no pleasing these children 😜🤣🤣🤣
I think the cops brought half of hamsterley forest out last week, three doors up from me, stunk to high heaven 🤣🤣🤣🤣🌿🌿🌿🌿 Be careful of adders round there in the summer, seen quite a few
Lovely video, Nicola, definately one of your best. I love that cute hamster. I’ve got a day exploring Co. Durham in between my parkruns at Jesmond Dene & Fountains Abbey so I will explore Hamsterley Forest if I can squeeze it in after my visit to Barnard Castle & High Force.
Oh wow, sounds like an awesome trip you've got planned! Don't forget to explore Brimham Rocks when you're in the area doing Fountains Abbey. It's definitely not to be missed 😍
Thanks, Nicola, I am going in July. Thanks for the tip about Brimham Rocks. I nearly went there on another trip but I chose to go to How Stean Gorge instead as it is where “Powerplay” one of my favourite episodes of Blake’s 7 was filmed.
Ooh ! A famous Harry Potter film site. Yes, I’ve been to Malham Cove. I’ve done the rocks at Ilkley Moor too. I’m planning to walk the Cinder Track course at Whitby as it has stunning views as well.
Wow, what cool place. My parents are from Co. Durham so I really liked looking at this place I've never heard of or be to before. Maybe next trip over to the UK. Poppy really got herself an entertaining run with all the distractions....and her mom wasn't far behind! Congrats on your #57 and thanks for the explanation.
