The rotation direction is just a technique thing. The way you are standing and attacking the grass should be adjusted to match the rotation of the tool. You were walking and attacking the grass to your left essentially and if you simply turn around and attack the grass from the right you wouldn’t get grass thrown at you. Personally, I wish all tools would have direction selection like a drill. It would be much more convenient to change the direction of spin based on what was more comfortable at the moment instead of having to adopt a particular technique based on the static spin direction
@993ti
@993ti Год назад
I use them daily professionally and you are correct. I'm used to them spinning counter clockwise and as you say, it's the direction of attack.

@@jacobjohnson4763 That's understandable, I completely understand that concept of "integrated" units. It stopped running a couple years ago. So it lasted 8 years. I replaced it with one of the Ryobi 4 Cycle units and am on the 3rd year with it. I have 3 attachments, trimmer, blower, and edger. So IME, even with the middle ground stuff, longevity isn't an issue unless you consider 8 years a short life, pulling triple duty.

As someone who has years of experience using trimmers, as someone mentioned, if it spins opposite to what you're used to. You just need to adjust the direction and way you trim. Its not a huge deal. In gas trimmers, 2 stroke gas trimmers they spin counter clockwise generally, not often you can find one, but a 4 stroke one will spin clockwise. I prefer the four stroke ones personally, but all mine currently are stihl two strokes. You just have to get used to using both. Nothing more.

Also the reason why the harbor freight weed eatery spins the way it does is because it's lefty flipped, so it's made for people trimming in a different way than others

I know I’m late but here for Tyler Weed whackers are designed to either spin in a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction. If your trimmer is designed to spin counter-clockwise, it will cut best on the right side and debris will fly outward toward the left side. These machines are best for right-handed users.

The reason for the delay, HF has the battery in the back and the motor for the unit in the front the delay is due to the transfer of energy. The Milwaukee has the battery hooked into the motor unit

@rocksfire4390 yeah, don't get anything less than a 40v. I had a 20v black & decker hedgetrimmer, was CONSTANTLY changing the battery. By the end of the day barely got any use before I had no power, the batteries couldn't charge fast enough and I had 4. With my 40v atlas, I almost never have to recharge
@rocksfire4390
@rocksfire4390 Год назад
@@mirthenary battery capacity is normally given in Ah (ampere hours). the voltage of the battery isn't really important (in the case of capacity) as even low voltage tools can draw tons of amps and be equal in power output....however that isn't as effective and as such a lot of companies have multiple voltage lines. you also see this with electric vehicles where the higher voltage systems are much more effective, not just energy usage but charge times as well. yes i would agree to not get anything lower then a 40v tool, with the exception of the milwaukee products because they use high amps to compete instead of high voltage. there is a pro and con to that kind of system, the pro is that you only need 1 battery type. the con is that you need to draw many times more amps to get the same desired output level, this requires much thicker wires and beefier components to be able to handle those amps without melting. we also had black & decker stuff long ago and all of that crap failed so fast, likely due to how shit battery tech was back then. i doubt i would try their stuff again, given i have greenworks stuff and might as well just stick with what you got lol.

Professional weed eaters turn counterclockwise cause they hang on the side of your right hip, you pull it with the left hand trough the grass against the spinning direction (otherwise it can run away dangerously) and at the same time pull towards your hip, which acts as a stabilizing hinge. I have a gasoline weed eater turning left and a little electric one turning right and BOTH has the direction I like, so there doesnt exist one "correct" spinning direction ; )

Tldr: the 4x4 test favored the Milwaukee I'm pretty sure the issue with the pole saw is the angle, three limbs getting cut will be above the operator so the harbor freight would be more parallel to the ground when cutting, whereas you'd have to cut from the side with the Milwaukee and risk pinching the bar. The test Tyler does favors the Milwaukee because, being parallel to the board, it only has a cut width of 4" while the angled harbor freight is cutting diagonally meaning it's more like 6" or something like that. I seriously doubt the results would be completely reversed if he was cutting a high limb since I doubt the Milwaukee will stall without a big fight, but I bet the harbor freight wouldn't stall nearly as much.

A couple of years ago, I decided to give an electric weed eater a go, after yet another gas machine failed. I will say I was very naive as to pricing ! Especially the cost of the batteries, and charger ! Having pulled the trigger, and purchasing the Harbor Freight, I will say that I am quite happy ! Battery life seems more than adequate, and over the course of probably 3 or 4 years of service, it seems to be holding up quite well ! Something I just learned, and have verified, which needs to be mentioned, when buying Harbor Freight products, be sure to purchase their extended warranty ! As the warranty is about to end, you can return your used tool, and it will be replaced ! I was shocked when I learned this, to say the least ! But I did speak to a Manager, and he verified the policy ! So it seems like a no Brainer ! And I have begun to notice that Harbor Freight is releasing more and more new tools, and seem to be moving away from the stigma that was once their moniker of junk tools ! Likely not Commercial tools for heavy duty work, but for the DIY'er, pretty good !

I will always stand with Milwaukee bc when I was on a job with my dad I left the weedwaker up against the trailer and as we pulled out we ran over the the motor and the battery the next day we took it back to the store (just the motor) they took it and handed us a new motor battery and weedwaker head for free and then my dog chewed one of my battery’s and they replaced it for free no questions asked vs harbor Freight that we bought generators from and they didn’t work and they wouldn’t take them back after we only had them for a day back in the box drained and everything and this didn’t just happen with the generators it’s almost everything we have bought from there

11:30 As you see you almost cut the node. And there the wood is much stronger in close range
