HI Don great video I didn't know about the drinks at the slots but now I do! Going on Ceasers air on 1/22 staying at the Tropicana so we will see how my luck runs! Happy new year!
Hi Kathy. The Tropicana is nice. Take a walk down the boardwalk of its not too cold. Lol. We really like the Hard Rock in AC. Best of luck and Happy New Year.
I enjoyed your video very much. I frequent Atlantic City a lot. I was just there last Sunday stay 3 days at Caesar and one day at resorts. I like the boardwalk side because you have more casinos and more places to eat preferred to Harrah, but I like Harris because of the openness of it.
You can definitely walk from Harrah’s Atlantic City to Golden nugget I have done it numerous times and I am not in very good shape so at night would be the only time I would suggest taking the jitney. Thank you for this awesome video my husband and I are heading to Harrah’s❤️🤍💙 Atlantic City on July 4, 2022 and we haven’t been there in several years. So thank you for the update. Even if you feel the hotel is a little outdated the fact that it is super clean and the staff are amazing makes up for any datedness . I am desperate to get to the Boardwalk since we will be there on the Fourth of July. Once you leave and exit harrah’s car park for daily trips you get charged to re enter. Not charged to park if your car stays put in garage. I was hoping to take the jitney during the day while my husband gambles to visit AC boardwalk not sure 🤔 anymore after your review I have all day to kill while hubby plays 🎰. Now I am worried instead of killing time I could be killed just riding jitney . Not gonna risk it. Thanks again for the current tour of Harrah’s NJ.
Thanks Don for the review. Harrahs AC looks beautiful. I keep getting offers from MGM to do 4 night air/hotel stay but we haven’t opted to yet. I’ve parts of AC are to be avoided.
That's why we go. The MGM deals are incredible. It's tough because Harrahs is so nice but off the boardwalk. Next time we might stay at Tropicana to be on boardwalk. We really like Hard Rock there. It looks pretty sketchy around the boardwalk, so I would stay on the boardwalk or Uber to Harrahs or Bogata.
I think so. The rooms are always nice and clean. I stayed at the claridge a couple nights ago and it was very dated. I always had a great time at harrahs
Harrah's used to be my favorite, until they got rid of the buffet (which was the best one in AC in my opinion) and then it didn't feel so special anymore. The pool is nice, and the hotel is large, but Borgata is newer (and still has it's buffet) and seems to have an easier floorplan to get around (probably intentional, but you have to walk through the whole of the casino to get to the hotel check-in counter in Harrah's; where other AC casinos have their check-ins relatively close to where the parking garage is), and has a larger amount of non-expensive restaurants in a basement food court.
@@gecko2738 Unfortunately Caesars Entertainment killed all of its buffets, sans one in Vegas. The buffet seating area in Harrah's has been replaced by a food court style place with a Bobby's Burgers (Bobby Flay) and some other places are coming soon. The Pool is now $20 for hotel guests for the first two people, and plays annoying techno during the day even though it's not yet time for the night club version.
@@RichV20 Good question, I have no idea really. They nickle and dime you these days at Caesars. They charge you for The Pool which is the one under the dome at Harrahs, but don't charge you for the Family Pool upstairs (which annoyingly felt like it wasn't heated when my wife and I went there, and it's quite small compared to the big pool). They also charge you for internet access if you have more than two devices and/or want a higher speed wifi connection. Without the Buffet and charging extra fees on what should be free with resort fees, Harrah's doesn't feel worth it anymore.
Is the pool at Harrah's heated 🤔 I've never been to Atlantic City and this video was very informative. I usually stay at Harrah's in Vegas and love it 😀
The pool at Harrahs is inside a huge glass-dome. The temperature inside the dome is 82 degrees all year long and the water is warm. Hope this helps and thanks for the comment Lisa.
Thanks so much for the nice video. Let me ask you something... Don't they have holdem poker tables in Harrah's casino? Only slot machines? If so, do you know another casino in Atlantic City that offers holdem poker tables? Thanks!
I'm not sure if they have hold em, but I do know that they have lots of table games as well as a poker room. Website says that they have 100 table games. Hope this helps.
Good video; I'm a little late getting to the party, but I enjoyed it. The pool seems very overcrowded with the over 60 crowd on the weekdays (the last time I was there was about 8 years ago). I don't mind a mixed crowd, but it was almost shocking to see the seniors come in and grab their chairs. Maybe you can buy a day pass or what have you and they all showed up right on schedule
I play at many casinos in Atlantic City and they changed the drink policy because many people will come in there and just sit down put a dollar in and order a drink. I so to control it they put a $5 min and or 15 minutes between drinks.
I understand why they do that. It's kind of frustrating though when we spend 5 to 6 hours in the casino and have to monitor the time to see if we are worthy of another cup of coffee. I'm sure the casino could afford a few free drinks to the people who want to take advantage of the drinks. Plus, I bet lots of the people that put a dollar in to get a drink end up putting another dollar in. Then another and another. Then maybe a 20 and poof now they are hooked. Anyway, it was fine after we got used to the system. Thanks for watching and I wish you great luck on your next trip to the casino.
@@MakeItHappenWithDon Ahh you’re out on the east side eh? I had a blast, it was my first time there and I’d say it was like a mini-vegas. Was there from May 26th-31st last year
Have stayed there many times but it's an Awful Long trek from the parking garage to the tower elevators with your bag! I've started staying at the Nugget as it's smaller, has Free Parking and suits me fine. I don't like the really Big places anymore at my age. My legs can't take it anymore. I really miss the Showboat where I used to stay the most as my measly Points got me good room rates at the front tower where the elevators dropped you right in the middle of the casino.
I know what your saying. The larger places can be tough to navigate. I always ask for a room close to the elevator to save from a long trek down a hallway.
Yeah, back in the day the casinos closed like at 5am and reopened at 7am. I remember they let us sit in the casino's all-night restaurant drinking coffee and having breakfast until they reopened. It was a long breakfast, but the waitress said we weren't the only ones who had done that
It’s been 30 years since casinos were permitted to offer 24 hour gambling. The big reason behind it was the traffic jams when all the casinos shut down at once. Imagine a couple thousand patrons who didn’t get rooms, driving home with a couple drinks under their belt.
I don't even like doing it, just having to wait for the waitress to return. Incidentally, I only order drinks when I'm planning on not winning much. Slots, which is all I play, seem to not mind you losing, especially when you can blame yourself, if you know what I mean.
I would, yes. I mean, as safe as any place in this crazy world we now live in. The resort/ casinos have an entrance of the boardwalk and an entrance on the opposite side. I felt very safe entering and exiting on the boardwalk. Like most tourist destinations, as long as you stick to the resort areas and boardwalk, your safe. How that helps.
@eventyoursofspirits wow!!! You will love it. We do those trips often. In fact, we leave Monday to the Beau Rivage in MS through MGM rewards. They take care of everything. When you arrive at AC airport, you shouldn't even have to get your bags. Just go on a bus. They will take you to Harrahs. Once there, they will have your room keys and welcome package for you. Within a few hours, "poof" like magic, your bags will show up in your room. Enjoy.
Dated room? Believe it or not, those rooms were just recently renovated !!! And they did a great job on them. So therefore, they are far from dated !!!
