I would say there is strong evidence Oblivion is superior to multi-eternity, and by feats even LT, but I would consider TOAA still Omnipotent since the contradiction was only minor, and he is the author avatar, which I would consider Omnipotent as the author can do literally anything in the story. Author avatar rules are touchy but most people would agree author is omnipotent for having complete control of everything in the story (ie could write any power for them self, choose any outcome, know everything about the story etc) Mind you one important rule to remember is that you can never scale off author avatars, if for example they get in a confrontation for a gag, or something like that, since the author avatars chose to write the outcome that way, and could just as easily make the outcome anything else they chose, it does not scale. So no trying to say Lord of nightmares is omnipotent for beating on the author avatar in a gag for example.

TOAA and Oblivion are two sides of the same coin, one is the creator and one is the destroyer. Each one exist to give the other a meaning or purpose.

(1) But what about this: Oblivion may have existed before there was anything to speak of; which is virtually, paradoxically omnipotent in itself; but isn't it far more impressive that a being should then defy; nay; overpower the very essence of Oblivion by creating anything, within, and against the very nature of Oblivion (if such a creator exists in the Marvel Universe)? The character of Oblivion relates slightly to Lord Shiva as 'the destroyer' , The One Above All relates slightly to Lord Brahma as 'the creator' and The Living Tribunal to Lord Vishnu (although Vishnu is at higher level) as 'the preserver' .. Oblivion IS like Eternity, Infinity and Death (from now on, refered as Abstracts). The reason why he is percieved as more powerfull by the other entities is because of how "power" is defined on a cosmic scale, at least in Marvel. They are all omnipotent, and in that regard they are all equals (and by all i mean all the cosmic entities, like galactus or Lord Chaos), however the hierarchy does exist, because it sets the frame within wich their respective influence has a higher or lower degree. Given how the Marvel multiverse works (and we can assume the omniverse as well, however never stated), the 3 "lesser" Abstracts have much more "power" and influence within the Marvel Multiverse/Omniverse, because they ARE the rules by wich every story (aka comic) works and makes sense. As you can imagine, every single comic every written inflates their power, by the simple fact that expands their influence, bringing things into existances. Oblivion on the other hand, is completely forbidden from those comics. Even when represented, he isn't trully there. His dominion, his sphere of influence, is the non-comic, the untold story, the non-existance. As you can imagine, by the nature of... well, "things", there is more "unstuff" than "stuff", so his domain is FAR greater than the rest of Abstracts. However, also by the nature of "things", when a comic is written, his domain shrinks a bit. In this regard, he allways was there, or more accurately, "not something" was there (using the "was" loosely here, this is complicated philosophycal stuff), and for Creation to be Created, he "gave up" space of his dominion, given that what didn't exist, began to do so. In that regard, he woulded "created" the Omniverse, however, he is still under the TOAA, because he has the power to "push" Oblivion aside with his creation, something of wich he doesn't have any control over, not even in the Chaos War, where he was the closest to "victory". . TLDR: He is just like the rest of Abstract, its just his influence is bizarre. He is below the TOAA in every sense because the TOAA can weaken him by simply creating.

There is a classic question of what does a being who is omnipotent omnicient and omnipresent lack, and the common accepted answer is limitation. Paradoxical as it may be it points to the dimensionality of perception. Limitation invokes freedom, in that to be creative you must break barriers, you cannot have the same concept of creativity if you are a being without barriers.

The One Above All created all of existence in Marvel Comics, he is the highest being in the creation of the Marvel multiverse; the idea, however, I believe is that there are other multiverses that exist outside of Marvel. DCU, for example, real life for another, and Oblivion exists within and beyond all of those as well as the Marvel multiverse. To put it another way, Stan Lee didn't create Oblivion. Oblivion existed before all creation and before all existence.

Thank you for the video, Chuck. I subscribed. To try and clear up your questions about why Oblivion and The One Above All would have emotions and questions... well, we are created from them. They originated feelings like curiosity. Also, they and other abstract entities need to be personified so we can relate to them, read them, experience them. I think staring at black, nothing, void or bright light would be uninteresting. =) Also, what do you think about seeing Oblivion and The One Above All (TOAA) as being the Yin and Yang or Light and Shadow of the Marvel Universe? In World of Warcraft, in the beginning-beginning, there was constant tension between Light and Dark until, where their edges met, the physical universe was created. The very idea of Omnipotence is contradictory, and it was not based on logic, but on men of faith. Marvel just added to their universe, so it's basically pointless to argue about it. The concept of "being capable of everything" is a paradox: Is the being able to create an object so heavy, that he is not able to move himself? If the answer is yes, then he is not Omnipotent, because there is one thing he cannot do (move said object). If the answer is no, he is not Omnipotent because there is one thing he can't do (create such object).

I feel like a worthy contender for power to Oblivion would be Protege, because protege can copy powers without limit. The Living Tribunal couldn't stop him because Protege copied his powers, along with the Beyonder and others. He also can keep all powers he copies forever and without a limit to how many he can copy. The writers wrote in a one time celestial named Scathan to beat Protege, and wrote it that apparently the Tribunal trapped Protege in himself. I do think, however, that Protege could beat The One Above All, I mean, he the Beyonder by copying his powers, and the Tribunal couldn't beat him without plot devices. So, I believe that he could possibly either tie witt or beat Oblivion.

Everyone is attempting to explain a “thing” that is beyond comprehension which refers to the mind..unknowable undefinable. Using words itself takes away from the concept of being “all”. Just like the essence of an attribute of the “all” is what each character represents. Beyond duality is a concept of both polarities being one in the same. Before the “existence” of “one” there is “nothing” 0 but no “thing” is some “thing”. Which basically gives rise back to the concept of polarity. One wouldn’t exist without the other. Oblivion isn't mutually exclusive to Toaa, nothing exists outside of it in my opinion. It still exists as a piece of Toaa. I always figured Toaa played games with 'itself' essentially by watching it's characters learn & progress, because it is already everything with all power & all knowledge beyond infinite dimensional existence and comprehension of any single character. It's interesting to think about though.

He's kinda contradictory though. If he's nothing, the opposite of existence and creation, then he should just be a force, not even that. The fact he has sentience and can act at all implies that he is a part of creation, or at least he was given a form, that you could argue, came from TOAA. Cuz he can't be nothing and something at the same time unless you say TOAA technically came from him, springing from literal nothingness and then created an aspect to personify the nothingness, cuz then he's technically both, nothing and something, both a creation of TOAA and the original state of things before him. Kinda like a Schrodinger's cat situation, he exists and doesn't exist simultaneously so that implies he's both nothing outside reality but also something inside reality.
