To quote from H M Sealey's Kingdom Rising series upon a character realising they are in Hell (I think it might be more Hades than Hell, Hell not yet being in existence but I forget the precise theology.) - "You wanted a place where the King doesn't reign? Congratulations. You have exactly what you wanted. Unfortunately, where the there is no King, neither is there any peace, hope, joy, food, liquid, warmth, sex, peace or pleasure, because those are all His gifts. But it was still your choice, and He still gave you a thousand opportunities to change your mind. Every time the sun rose you could have let it tell your dull brain who He is. But this was your choice. And however much it hurts Him to let you have your way, He's given you what you wanted."

@richjacobs Thanks for joining the chat. My view is that C.S. Lewis' understanding doesn't go against Scripture but is an elaboration of its imagery. He is also helping us to understand the nature of God and His cosmic plan for the universe.

Hell is permanent separation from GOD

maybe being let into heaven when one is unsaved is an experience even worse than hell itself...

According to Scripture, Hell isn't eternal. Though the lake of fire might be. It's open to interpretation I guess. Revelation 20:14-15 [14]And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. [15]And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Right, Hades/Sheol is destroyed, but Ghennah/Lake of Fire goes on. For the sake of non-Greek and non-Hebrew speakers, I generally differentiate between Hell now (Hades) and Hell later (Ghennah) in the same way I talk about Heaven now (Paradise/3rd Heaven) and Heaven Later (New Creation, New Heaven & New Earth)

Even if that God exist, the problem can never be solved. It's beyond obvious that God is a narcissist, admitting no blame, guilt or responsibility. While everything that ever happened is his will, he himself put everything in motion. The fate, actions, situations and qualities of every created being is a consequence of what God caused, which will keep resonating, forever. So, when God accuses the created of wrongdoings, he accuses himself, something that the narcissistic God deflects immediately. The attempt to blame Lucifer for causing consequences, is exactly what to expect from the narcissist God. Even if Lucifer exist and set something in motion, it's still not the fault of the created being Lucifer. The only solution to the Gordic knot, is for that God to publicly admit this, and apologize to every soul that ever existed. Not something a narcissist would ever do. Pride and narcissism means God is stuck in his own hell. Hence the paradox is insoluble & eternal “If you think you know everything, you’ll never learn anything,”

so how do you explain the people that ARE able to do good? In Revelation, it explains how the people who choose to be with God will be created with new bodies & live in the celestial kingdom with God after overcoming all the temptations Satan tries to create. God is the ultimate being of goodness and demands righteousness not perfection yet; even during the millennium, people could sin but it will be dealt with immediately. And after the millennium, people will be sinless. I think people who think God is a narcissist for demanding righteousness do not want to be held accountable for their actions and do not have the motivation to evolve into better beings.

Not everything that happens is God's will. In fact, if God had His will done, the world would be a very different place. Your starting premise is wrong, thus everything after that is also wrong. This is the God who created everything, gave authority over the world to human beings. The human beings promptly gave all that authority to Satan.(We're easily fooled) That same God then moved heaven and Earth to buy back the world (Jewish law allows this, but if you look at it in any depth, you'll see some fascinating reasons why the Jews were given the law the way they were, and how it all set the stage for Jesus centuries later) So Jesus became flesh, lived among us, gave Himself up to buy back what Adam lost. As you come to understand God, you start to realise how authority works, and how free will works. What you describe only works with an entirely different sort of deity, some sort of supreme chess-master, not the loving God we have whose heart breaks over the pain in the world but, because He has given authority to His people, does not snatch it back when His people mess up. Stepping into the world as Jesus was the closest He came to doing that, and before that, flooding it to remove the evil.

@@stephaniemiller1158 You need to look up the definition of a narcissist... God fit the definition perfectly...

@@stephaniemiller1158 It Is Very Ignorant To Say There Is A God or Gods. The Reality is that Nobody Knows if God or Gods Exists or Not. We know that life on Earth is built around compounds that contain elements such as Carbon, Nitrogen, Hydrogen and Oxygen. Complex sequences of these elements bond together, forming the very Building Blocks of Life. They form Essential Organic Molecules, such as Sugars, Enzymes, Proteins and DNA. However, these organic molecules did not naturally exist on Earth during the Hadean eon, when the first origins of life appeared. The elements required existed only in inorganic form, bound up within the rocks, atmosphere and the early ocean. The earliest Earth was a ‘naked planet;’ the Hadean Bioscience colleagues describe it as having no ocean or atmosphere when it first formed. These eventually appeared around 4.37 billion years ago after Earth had been pelted by aqueous asteroid material. Once there was liquid water and an atmosphere, there was a greater chance for prebiotic life to form (the chemical precursors to life on Earth). The first traces of life recorded on Earth are thought to be as old as 4.2 billion years, indicating that life may have evolved within 200 million years after the first appearance of liquid water. We know that all the key elements for life are found on Earth, but they do not easily form organic compounds. Early experiments during the 1950s showed that it was possible for amino acids to form in water condensation within experimental conditions that mimicked the atmosphere of the early Earth. However, for this to occur, a powerful energy source was required. The input of energy caused chemical reactions capable of creating compounds based on hydrogen, carbon and nitrogen that would eventually form organic molecules. The Hadean Bioscience researchers suggest that in order to understand how life began on Earth, we need to understand the specific environmental requirements that must be satisfied to allow this to occur. They identified nine specific conditions and unless all these environmental requirements are met, life cannot be born. As You Can See The Universe Has No Need For God To Have Life. It has all the Elements it needs to Create it... And No The Bible Does Not Prove God, It's a Story Book... Definition of Proof: Evidence Establishing a Fact or Truth. @@stephaniemiller1158 If someone claims to know God or believe God is real... Sorry but there is no evidence for the proof of God... If there was it would be World News, and everyone would know the Truth and the Proof... All you have is More Than 4600 Religions, Worldwide, With Thousands of Gods. They’re All Claiming to Be The One True Religion, Following The One True God. Either Only one Religion is True or all Religions are False? How can all Religions be True? "One can't Prove that God Does or Doesn't Exist, "But Science Makes God Unnecessary. "The laws of Physics can Explain the Universe without the Need for a Creator," All Religions and Gods are Nothing More Then Mythology. ( Mythology... Examples are Fables, Fairy Tales, Folktales, Sagas, Epics, Legends, and Etiologic Tales (Which Refer to Causes or Explain Why a Thing is The Way It Is). Another Form of Tale, the Parable, Differs from Myth in its Purpose and Character. Things That are Not To Be True...) All You Have Done Is Choose One Particular Myth. Religion Actually Define Religion as a Cult. Cultic Worship is Social, which means more than a Group Worshiping the same Deity in the same Place at the Same Time. A Cult is Structured, with a Division of Sacred Personnel (priests) Who Lead and Perform the Cultic Ceremonies for the People... A Cult is a Group or Movement Held Together by a Shared Commitment to a Charismatic Leader or Ideology. It has a Belief System that has the Answers to all of Life's Questions and offers a Special Solution to be Gained only by Following the Leader's and Rules. “If you think you know everything, you’ll never learn anything,” If You Can't Understand This It's Not My Problem... “If You Think You Know Everything, You’ll Never Learn Anything,” “No amount of Evidence will Ever Persuade an Ignorant Person.”
