📢LIFE BOOK 📢 LOOOOL 📢 Thanks for joining me in this new format! I'm not used to being in front of the camera but it was fun putting this video together! Where you at, end of video gang? 🧢
After jumping into PLOTTER this spring, I wound getting a Hobonichi (Original A6) because I needed something dated and bound for record-keeping. I would love to see a video about your PLOTTER planning and drawing! 🐣
🧢I appreciate this video. To be honest 2025 is the year of simplicity. I will be using the Aura Estelle Catch All and Traveler's Dairy. I realize that I do not need all the things. Instead of being a tool, some planner items became overwhelming and I had to leave them. I love this video format🧡🍁🍂
I agree with the previous poster, great sweater. I definitely learned more about the Hobonichi planner from this video than any other video on YT. Thank you for the explanations and descriptions.
Job, the different shots!!! The cinematography of different poses, lighting, angles, locations, and even time of day? on top of the usual overhead recording? Such an exciting variety of shots while still maintaining a smooth script/speech- thank you for the hard work you put into your videos! Tomoe river paper isn't for me and I found that out after buying it in 2019. I use that weeks for ink swatching now I'm not a fan of the covers of cousin and avec either ; ; traveler's notebook leather has really spoiled me!
🧢1 - love the opening, esp it's kinda giving joshua weissman 🧢2 - Absolutely love that you're on camera. I dunno, it gives more credibility (for me) Like, "I stand by my words and here's my face to prove it" kinda thing, you know? Also I'm biased bec you remind me of my best friend
I use like a 5 notebook system Finances/ Calligraphy practice / Bullet Journal - weekly planner- / long form journal/ Currently Inked Pens jounal... Next Year I am going to use a 3 ring binder and HP premium 32 with a hole punch and my new Hobonichi Weeks for my currently inked pens we will see how this system goes I was always tired of not having enough space not being able to move things around and the weeks will be great for if I travel (which I dont like traveling) I will prolly use one of the 100 different empty notebooks that I've reviewed over the years to journal in and Ill keep my financial journal cause it mostly keeps my recepts, pay stubs, and rent checks so it really doesnt get used that much :) Keep up the good work ... P.S. Are you going to the Pelikan HUB I will be the ink master at the Santa ana MLovewell tonight if you are coming come say hi :) ttfn
Ah! You’re showing your face now! 👏👏👏👏❤️ Love it! I need to binge watch your videos! I’m back journaling after a lonnng hiatus, and you’re one of my inspiration! Thank you for sharing your life book journey with us! ❤🙏
I LOVE seeing you Job! This was a great video---it's nice to see how different people use our beloved techo. I'm in my 6th year of creative journaling in mine (just doodles and whatever I feel like doing, sometimes documenting, sometimes just creative outlet). You are the best! 🎩
🧢 I love and have loved the Techo since .. I think it was 2014, but it might have been Fall of 2013. It’s flexible, sturdy, patient, doesn’t mind if I skip a day, or stick things in it, or watercolor, or doodle, or … to me it reflects life, both mine and in general. It catches everything that is thrown at it and ends up looking well-lived-in and gorgeous. My secondary it the Traveler’s in original and pocket size, I switch those up. But my Hobonichi is my bestie Love seeing your face, too.
LOVE this video and seeing and hearing what you used your A6 for! Oooo same!!! Traveler's Co and Plotter are my 2 main systems that I use and carry with me every day, as well. Regular size and Bible size are what serve me the best. I Did use a Hobonichi Cousin A5 for 2024 but it never went with me anywhere due to size/bulk/weight etc... it sat on my desk- yes I use it, but its just too much space for me and just too big. This year I am going with the Hobonichi A6 Avec which I know will be exactly what I need. I also have my Traveler's inserts (regular and passport) and my Plotter as well. Plotter is my main use for planning, schedules, appointments and things like that while Traveler's is my memory keeping, planning, brain dump and all around everything!!
🧢 Love this new 'face to camera' mode!! Its great to see your enthusiasm and enjoyment! Yes - of course we all want to see in-depth TN and Plotter videos (I'm trying to talk myself out of buying a Plotter - I love the way it looks but I don't know how I would use it, and I definitely don't need it )
In 2025, I’m using Travelers, two Weeks, and a plain A5 journal. I found I wasn’t using my A6 Techo much this year and my Weeks much more. That is the switch I am making in 2025. I also use a Midori B6 for work. I found the A6 too small and the A5 too big. The B6 is just right for work. 🧢👒
🧢 it’s no nice to see your smiling face on the camera! I’ve been using a small diary along with a travelers notebook for journalling. For 2025 I’ve purchased a Hobinichi Planner as my diary and every day journal & will keep using my travellers notebook for trips/holidays.
Love this style of video! So cool to see your neighbourhood. Next year will be my first dip into Hobonichi and I have bought a Weeks to go alongside my usual bullet journal style notebook…. watching this I am wondering about the Original A6 now! See what you have done! 😀 Just kidding…. if I do decide on the A6 it will be for 2026… staying strong! 🤪📚
🧢 I bought a hobonichi weekly companion with the intention of using it for daily logging/memory keeping. It’s what I’ve been using the A6 TAN for this year but it’s a bit too much room for me. First time using something from Hobonichi so hopefully it works out. I’ll also be using different TN inserts and other notebooks for longer form journaling and collaging.
Hi Job, I loved this video! 🧢´My first Hobonichi purchase arrived earlier this week, I bought a Day free A6 and a Yumi Kitagishi cover. I think the day free will close a gap in my system, which is mainly bullet journaling. I'd love to watch an in-depth video on Travelers and Plotter.
🧢 enjoyed your video !! Hobonichi is definitely my go to for planner and journaling at home, but prefer TN on all my travels for its versatility, flexibility and portability.
I really enjoyed this video :) 🧢 I discovered Hobonichi last year around this time and went down the rabbit hole. I have stuck with my Hobonichi Techo weeks again for 2025 and you stated the reason why so accurately, "The charm of using a HOBONICHI techo is that it links you to this larger community of passionate paper lovers that are eager to share their love for documenting, journaling, planning and stationery as a whole."
I have been using my Hobonichi A5 and A6 and weeks...I said I didn't need new covers for 2025, but I caved!!!! I make my A5 very "CHONKY" by the end of the year!!! almost cant write in it by end of September! Great video! I do love seeing you and in different setting ...great music as well!
Thank you Job, I Love seeing your handsome face . I was using the hobonichi technique but I found I had to use it every day and I just couldn't keep up with it, so I went back to my travels note book. It works so much better for me. Since I have a busy schedule. And thank you for your videos.🥰🧢Love Kelly Your Favorite Nurse 🩺
🧢i love my Hobonichi A5 avec, i bought one for 2025 again. I daily journal in it. Sometimes i want to try my TN but the paper of Hobonichi is my fav ASMR so no TN for daily writing. Love your video🎉 thanks for sharing ❤❤❤❤
hai, Jobs! Thanks you being honest to us... really important for me who wanna try that planner system from Hobonichi, aside from my bujo and TN journaling system. So I already bought one last week , to satisfy my curiousity!..let's see...😁
How did you differentiate your use of Hobonichi vs TN? That’s what I’m struggling with. I love the Hobonichi but it’s resulted in me neglecting my travelers notebook.
Great review! I appreciate the take on multiple planners. I used to be a hardcore EC user along with Hobonichi. I recently decided to cut ties with EC use. I already use the Techo, Hon, and weeks and the EC was just a “shiny toy” to have cause it’s so popular. Since I cut the EC, I’ve been able to purge all the stickers and kits that went with it.
I love all your videos, and I thought I remembered you saying you weren't in a Hobonichi right now because you had refrained from buying one on your release day video. I'm in so many journals, and I must admit that the covers override my sensibility to what's inside sometimes. I am spiraling deep into the rabbit hole of inks right now, so I'm trying to focus on papers that bring out the best in different inks. At least that gives me an excuse to explore different notebooks and journals. You mentioned a video on Plotter. I was looking at TN stuff just last night, and I was drawn to the Plotter cover because I don't like the knot on the back of the TN. Still, I love everything about all the incredible stationery supplies they have put out, and it matches what I'm looking for in many ways. I noticed that the Plotter was ultra-expensive. If you made a video about that, I'd be interested in knowing more. Thanks👊
🧢 🎩 👒 I just started using my A6 Techo again after falling off for some time, and I’m really enjoying it! This is good inspiration. And I know what you mean by us plannerheads being distracted by all the lovely notebooks and planners out there. 😂
Ah I was so excited to see this video! I bought a Hobonichi to use for 2025 and I was already really inspired by your approach to journaling, so it was cool hearing you explain how/why you do things. Thank you for sharing!! C:
Great video watching you has inspired me to journal again. I joined your patreon aa well to keep me inspired. I am journaling in my Cousin and 5 year A6. I also have a b6 stalogy for when i need more space. Looking forward to more videos 🧢🧢🧢
🧢 Loved the video format and your willingness to try! I was "inspired" by you to use the a6 Hon (until the plot twist 😅) I am using the a5 Hon currently and having fun with it as a memory keeper. Will be re-dating a5 midori one day a page for 2025 to clear old stock.
I love this talking to the camera, Job! and I bet it feels a little freeing for you not having to worry about hiding your face. I am using an A6 HON this year and I like it. I do no scheduling and just journal in it. I think for next year though, I will be using one of my umpteen impulse-buy notebooks in an effort to use up what I have. The challenge for me will be to make sure I set up the dates in them beforehand so I stay on track with daily journaling.
Have always loved your videos - but now seeing your face 😁 takes them to the next level 🧢 Appreciate the candor of your “planner fatigue” comments - and your ability to put that into words
🎩 😊 I picked up a Cousin from 2023 for this year in July. I have commitment issues and I’m still not sure it’s the format I want, which is why I snagged an old one and am just redecorating it to be current. I mainly use the weekly section to track my 10yo’s online school lessons so our heads don’t explode from being overwhelmed. But I do love love love writing on the paper and the daily section is my random notes or journaling prompt section. It’s been a good option for trying out different formats and making myself stick to things for one month before deciding if it’s working for me or not, and I’m allowing myself the freedom to try new things each month.
🧢 Great vid Job! I also am using the Hon as my journal this year but I found that when I was traveling (unless it was for months at a time) I liked my weeks to quickly log what was happening so I could then make spreads in my TN. Planner fatigue is sooo real. I just collage empty pages to make my books pretty when I flip thru them or at least try to repurpose them somehow if I abandon them for a while😊. I would love to see an in depth video on the plotter system as I use this for my day to day task list work planner now (shiranami bible). Mahalo for all you do from HI🤙🏾
🧢 Love my Hobonichi techo A6! I am, however, going to try the Sterling Ink A6 common planner for 2025 just to see how much of a difference it will be so we will see how it goes.
🧢 I love the HON ever since they introduced it so I am definitely going to use one again next year! The A6 size just brings me so much joy just from looking at it when I hold it in my hand! For the most part I think I have my line up figured out but there is still time haha
Job I know it was a little scary but I love seeing your face while you're talking! And the opening of this video made me laugh out loud in public. So sweet.
We love a talking to the cam vlog! & Yes to learning to say no and understanding your limits 💖 I think that’s why journaling/planning is so fun - you really get to do what makes you the happiest. 🎧👒
Love this style of video! I think everyone goes through phases where they switch pens and notebooks. It's just natural so no biggie. It keeps things interesting.
I love seeing you on camera! You have such a warm and friendly face! ❤ could you share what pen you were using when writing in the green ink? Thank you!
🤠🎓⛑️👒🧢 Although I’ve never done it alone, I love when creators make cafe vlogs. I dunno why I always feel like someone would randomly come up to me and say, “You need to leave!” 😂
