One thing that bugged me was how quicky our character ran out of stamina, I mean we can chop trees and mine rocks all day but we can only sprint for 3 seconds before giving out 😅
I just bought it yesterday. A lot of the issues I have with ACNH are fixed in this game (lack of bulk crafting, weird stack limits, saccharine villagers, tools breaking, no way to tell where you're placing stuff outdoors, etc.) so I'd say it's worth checking out. I also love the exploration aspect. I'm hoping I'll be able to expand my house at some point.
The game is on sale now, 50% off and I'm really considering if I should finally get this or not. I mean, it's only 10€. I think the main question is, does it run well on the switch? Is there something missing if you have it on the switch etc. Because I don't have a pc.
This is the review that that gave me the information that I needed to finally commit to buying the game. The reviewer sets a pleasant tone and has a pretty voice, but most importantly she provides a bunch of useful information about the game mechanics. I especially appreciated the overview of the beginning of the game. More detailed than other reviews, but not so much that it spoils things.
Hokko Life has so much more to offer than ACNH does. I like the crafting ability, being able to grow crops, and mine just like a Harvest Moon game. That dog Oleander is rude, but in a funny way. Definitely going to purchase this game 😀👍
I think it offers a different experience that I connect with a lot. I also like that it isnt on a real life time clock so I can take guilt free breaks. Hope you enjoy it!
So I enjoyed Story of Seasons, but there were two major flaws for me: 1, the fact that it isn't in real time made me always feel rushed, and 2, the fact that it ISN'T in real time meant that I had to do things in a certain order in a certain way every time, or I'd be shooting myself in the foot. Like, if I had taken the time to read the full tutorial/s, this might not have happened, but one thing I enjoy about ACNH is that it allows you the luxury of exploring and figuring stuff out on your own without there being too many consequences. It's like the participation trophy of video games, and I'm all for it. So basically, my question is whether you (or anyone else who's played both games) would consider Hokko Life to be more "forgiving" than Story of Seasons.
Love your town layout! My switch version got cursed and I can't design anymore = can't advance the skill tree 🥲 probably have to restart from scratch so seeing what you did with your town gives me something too look forward too 😁
Thank you for your glowing review! This game has received a lot of flack lately so I was on the fence about getting it. Now I'm just waiting for it to go on sale🥰
I've seen a lot of that too. Like, this game was made by one person. He did an amazing job. He's still working on more content to add. He posts these adorable diary entries of what he's working on each day. I love his communication, I love this game, and it really deserves more love!
@@mushykins yess I feel like I'm constantly defending this game and directing people to the discord so they could see that the Dev is working on it every day.
@@RhythmEmotions If anyone is on PC you've got until February 7th to pick it up on Humble Bundle Choice for $12, which also includes DOOM Eternal and Oli-Oli World(plus some other stuff, these are just my highlights).
I love this game and for only $30 its well worth it! The fun part is mining materials and making your own furniture. also completing tasks for residents is fun and overall it will keep you occupied for hours. A very cozy easy going game for those looking for a game similar to animal crossing.
I am happy to find someone else who likes this game. I just bought it a week or so ago on steam only $6. It works very well on my steam deck. The beginning was slow but I am getting into it and I love the animals. They remind me of the characters of sofie the giraffe. They look like stuffed animals which really is the aesthetic I like. ❤ It’s too bad lots of people don’t like it. What I would love though is relationship building with the characters.
It just came on sale on the switch store! This video convinced me! I've been looking for something to re-spark that love for Animal Crossing (since I didn't like the new one)
Maybe I am impatient (and because I played this so early in development so it was different then), but I cannot sort out how to unlock fishing! Any help? :( I also feel in a general sort of rut like I simply wake up, have no clue what to do, sleep and repeat. I want to enjoy and progress but feel a bit stuck, I suppose. I think it's a cute and cozy game for sure, though. Thank you for your video.
I played a lot during EA too! Okay back in that mountain area there is that little lake area. You have to build a bridge to get over there. I went over there and cleaned up all the trash. Soon as I left the bear was there to great me! Hope this helps!
I still remember when this game was only digital. And I asked the company (on Twitter. Or...X) if there was going to be a physical release? And they hinted that there would be. And I was super excited. Now I own the physical game, but still haven't touched it. Sadly, MOST of my games suffer that same neglect. I've got hundreds of games that are still sealed. 🤪
I love this game! My husband bought it for me for Christmas to help me rewind. I just wish we could put houses and furniture at an angle. Also, is there a way to switch houses? I want to live in a bigger one.
Love your video and realy helpt me with making a choise to buy this game, but I was wondering wich one play better, on pc or switch. Thanks for your reactions and opinoins. 😁
Maybe since your playing on switch versus PS that we haven’t gotten that stuff. I didn’t realize I shouldn’t have gotten rid of certain items when I was clearing out the top section of the housing area and now I can’t make myself a fishing pole kind of defeats the point of doing the tournaments. Now I’m just kinda screwed atm.
are you missing grass tufts? you can check the store for grass seeds so you can plant more, the stock changes every 2 days or so, so keep checking back.
It’s a pretty subjective question. I play them both for different reasons. AC has more polish because it’s a billion dollar company. While Hokko is made by one person. I always lean on the side of indie to support. But that’s completely up to you!
My game has an awful glitch, my town is split in four with a rock “bridge”…..It’s impossible to fish in the river, I cast and it lands on the grass across it and lands and acts like it’s in water. 😡
I wont lie. I reset a few times till I found a map layout I liked lol. I have this cute little land chunk all by itself and moved my home there haha. Maybe reset a few times till you find one you enjoy more? I know it stinks getting your tools back, but you know what to do this time so it shouldnt be too too hard yeah?
@@mushykins that’s actually a good idea and you’re right not that difficult to play through again especially since I do know what I’m doing and how to play. I’m going to do that, thanks. ☺️
Update: I'm on the train! Not sure if it was connected to a certain character: Patches? Not sure, one of them said that they should have been by earlier. Noone has said that. Or it was a restart like Atomality suggested. Either way, thank you all for your help. Muah!
You know what I think is funny there's lots of people out there who for some reason think that this game is a clone of my Sims and what's funny about it is the fact that animal crossing was the first game to do this type of game play way before my Sims in fact my Sims is a clone of animal crossing just like this game is and just like the new Disney game is what's even funnier is there's people out there comparing the animal crossing clones to Stardew valley and start who valley is nothing like animal crossing at all Stardew valley is more of a farming simulator but yeah there's lots of people ate and on this game and I picked it up and I actually like it it's actually pretty cool I actually got very bored of animal crossing there's not much to do in that game believe it or not
Not a rip off a clone this is where people get it wrong other people are allowed to make games like animal crossing but they're not called ripoffs they're called clones One of the new great ones that came out is Disney dreamlight valley
While it does has a lot of similarities to AC, it’s very different. People who want a new AC clone will be VERY disappointed. It’s a completely different flow and experience imo.
Check out Dinkum, it is PC only right now, but it is a very similar game(but Australian themed) with multiplayer... and it was made by one guy no-less.
Wait I just noticed the mission where you have to collect a scarf that mission is way different than mine I had to collect it for a pig you had to collect it for a dog That's a little odd
