What an awesome time, I think you captured it perfectly!! My only gripe was this one weird dude who kept crashing all your shots and following you around all three days. Can't believe he was so rude to flip you off 😂. Cheers man, it was a blast hanging out with you, can't wait for the next one!
BTW, I recently heard of the New England Homebrewers Jamboree. It might be something for you to check out (in Tamworth, NH). It might be similar to the Mid-Atlantic States campOUT (MASHOUT, in Maryland) which I have attended several times.
Yea I went in 2016 when it was In Baltimore our club still talks about how crazy club night is totally worth it and all the shenanigans everyone got into
Nice meeting you at the Brülosophy booth! Great video, by the way! I think you did a great job summarizing everything. It was also my first HBC, but it won't be my last! (and yeah, I'm glad I packed a few meals with how meat-heavy the options were)
It is also pretty easy to come home with $150 to $200 in giveaway items (hops, yeast, grains, flavorings, etc.). At least in Pittsburgh, there were some pretty solid items given away in raffles (I heard it was even bigger years past). Between the the beers, educational seminars, beers, give away items, beers, entertainment, beers, food, and beers, it is pretty easy to justify the conference price. Last year I spent about $450 to split a hotel room. This year I would have had to add on a plane flight. I am not sold on the combined HBC and GABF. I really like the idea of meeting up with folks from RU-vid and homebrew forums though.
I’ve gone for the last 10 years, back when the cool kids called it NHC. This year was an improvement over last year. Hope we can get back to the pre Covid size. Still had a blast. The Homebrew this year was some of the best I’ve ever had at the con.
Was able to go to Pittsburgh last year. It was an awesome time. Although I’ve heard AHA lost a ton of money in Pitt (still waiting to see about San Diego), and they are considering making Denver/GABF the default location for now on due to cost considerations. Pandemic and inflation has done a number on the conference/AHA.
