I am 18 now and an engineering student still i never received anything like pocket money from my parents but i have received everything i required. So, giving directly money to the child's is not common in my family atleast.

I'm 23 I still sleep besides my mom ,when I was in home it doesn't mean I need medications, its just I lover her

I still remember my parents always scolding me when I watch cartoons. They always told me to watch "Discovery channel".

I have considered my parents beating as physical abuse😂😂 I realise it now, that if I wouldn't have recieved that beating I would have ended up ending myself.

I am 23 and i sleep with my mom and sometimes i also sleep with my dad, in india we don't mind this, and we believe in joint family because we never want to leave our roots, we can't raise our voice in front of our elders and we can't even look into eyes of our elders if they are angry on us for some reasons. Family is everything.

If a child is 20 and still sleeps with his/her parent(s), they don't need counselling. It is perfectly normal

Respect your parents coz you can earn billions, you can have anything you want, but you can't make parents who first think of their children's happiness then after if sometime left they think for themselves and even that time they think to how to make our future... Even if get old i can't even think of living in any house where my parents doesn't live, bcoz i want to take good care of them, and let them if anything happens I'm there for you till my last breath, and i think every true indian feels the same... I am 17 and I sleep with my mom and sister and it's not at all wrong to live with parents when we get old. Because when our parents become old they also need care just like we needed when we were kids and we have to be with them at time. Toddler and senior citizen are similar . They need attention. And who knows how much time we have with them.

In India sleeping or lying with parents is not a strange thing…it’s actually a way to seek and show love …One typical thing in India is son normally listening more to his parents than his wife …and it can create tension in families…but still somehow the rule is staying together and finding the delicate balance..it is tough but is great when judged at time of difficult circumstances….however this is changing fast…for good or worst …cannot say

ohh...i still remember myself seeking help of mamma and pappa to do my homework.....papa at that time...was doing my hard drawing tasks...n mamma in dictating me answers from book.... n at tests n annual exams...they strictly were making me get up at 5 am...in morning...😑😑n asking n making me prepare for the exam day....🙄😅....n after exam....we all get nervous .....🙈 hmmm......now i m like....those were the days....🙃

I'm 30 years old and I still sleep with my parents until I get married. Then my wife and myself will also sleep with both the parents. It's a common thing. We may be older, but in the vision of parents we are still kids. Also, being independent doesn't mean living individually in India. We stay with our parents till their last day and our children will follow the same with us. Parents take care of us till we settle and we do the same taking care of them till the end. It's a cycle of life.

At the age of 30 or above live with parents is our culture because at child phase they support us ... when they getting older it is our responsibility to take care of them

This is more reflective of an older generation.. I related to this growing up but now it's very different, looking at most kids and how they behave these days.. ugh. Totally off on the education system tho 😂 my class had 60 students, there was no question of getting personalized attention. Teachers absofreakinlutely have favourites, so much so that others never got an opportunity to shine because the favourites always got picked for extracurriculars etc. Also parents never missed an opportunity to compare you with other kids. Everything I did in school was compared to whoever was the current topper in the class 😂

We have a special female sacred diety in the house which takes care of food - "Annapurna".We have a ritual in our family, after completing our meals we always say a Sanskrit verse " Ana daata sukhi bhava" which means- 'God give all the happiness who has given me this food" showing gratitude to food and food giver

Lol, as many of the things mentioned are relatable but they took it in a whole ideal level. Not exactly what she mentioned actually happens. I did watch cartoon, my parents did not told me what should I become but they just made sure I get good marks in school And specially what they told about school are really ideal, most of the school culture here is very different. They care about money and nothing else. I dont want to say the video was completely unrelated to a indian life but they just took it as people in India are too ideal. This is just not the case.

I myself sleep with between my parents since 10 to 12 years after that we sleep seperate , After that me and my younger brother sleep together till now and we fight a lot.

Instead of giving money to the child, better we can offer what they want.. That's really appreciatable... And certain things u can enjoy at that respective age... We always think that our child should not miss anything that what they want...

Beating kids in India by a parent is not considered as Cruel but it's a part of correction or creating discipline. And I got lot of beating 😁😛, if that was not given i couldn't be a good daughter for my parents, they nurtured me..💕

My mother is easy going not educated but very open minded she isn't conservative even my maternal grandparents are very open-minded they have never read a book but still they believe change ... If the change is good my parents are very supportive of that change .. but the change that is not good for me my parents aren't going to allow me for going in that direction ... It's just their protective spirit ... We Indians should be happy that we have caring and loving parents who don't give us up for adoptions or don't kick us out when we are in our very vernable period if our life during our 18 years of age when we are prone to make a lot of mistakes that could ruin our lives for the rest of our lives ... I used to fight for doing things which my father said no to at first . When I became angry about it my parents used to give in and let me do it ...only to lesson that my parents were right .. to be honest my parents experience has been helpful in my life too. .. my parents never left me to our relatives who took a lot of advantage of others kids and don't treat us well ... My parents saw that I am their responsibility for life and always have been responsible towards me .. be it poor be it rich be it middle class average Indian parents want their kids to live a life of less problematic life .. only when it comes to marriages parents want to choose a stable partner for their kids and seem to be little controlling but they don't mean harm for their kids ... When I was a child my grand mother I shouted at her my father taught me a lesson for it ... From then onwards I even respect an ant on the floor .. I can't even kill a mosquito since I respect it's life as well ... Sometimes being respectful is a pain in the ass so I just change my tone being strong and upfront in front of bad people and being respectful towards the people who are kind and good .. But India is changing too much ... The India you know today is gonna change into different India after every 5 years ...

8:35 u can not play around with the food,here it means u can not waste the food. Usually kids eat one two bite and they start playing or throwing foods or just sitting simply messing with ur plate is only acceptable for the kids below 10. And lastly,we always eat with our hand except soups 🍲 😋 😊

The main reason for forcing the children's occupation or profession by the parents in India is because until a few decades back to the professions ar based on family legacy if your father was a shoe repairman you were destined to become a shoe repairman so that's the reason for the parents wishing for their kids profession that they were not able to acheive or not allowed to
