Thanks so much for stopping by and the positive feedback. Tomorrow we are doing a 6 hour long sale with over a million dollars of Mark Lyon's inventory. It should be a fun fly-on-the-wall event.

Super glad to hear that. Of all the hundreds of people that contact me every week asking for me to look at their sample I'm surprised when they don't even have $25 worth of faith in their own sample. If all video submissions from my Patreon members are of this quality it will continue to be a fantastic series.

I've got one very similar, however mine is slightly magnetic. I found it way off the beaten path in Utah and sent many pictures to the Geological Science Dept at San Diego State University... they responded with the limited data... "more likely than not, late 1800 slag." There wasn't any sign of a prior mining operation or smith-works out in the open desert but a passing military encampment could've been the culprit.

Very interesting feedback. Thank you very much. I am going to actually research different types of slag through the ages and see if it helps me in our identification process.

Yeah, I would also very much say it's not a meteorite. On top of what was already mentioned by the crew, I'll add a few more observations that were not mentioned. Pitting on the surface is of the wrong scale for a meteorite. In meteorites you can have a 1mm-0.5mm round surface features (protrusions and pits) on a weathered chondrites which this is obviously not. You can have burst fusion crust bubbles on the sub 1mm scale, nowhere near this large so I would not say that there is no evidence of vesicles in the form of melted and burst bubbles at the surface (compatible with it being some kind of a terrestrial melt but not meteoritic melt). Also there is a rounded inclusion on the "flip side" that seems to have clearly layered, concentric structure that would be completely incompatible with it being a meteorite. But, great video nonetheless! I wish all the ID requests were make with this much care and effort.

Thanks for an interesting video Topher! Does anyone think this might be a boomerang meteorite??
@TopherspinMeteorites

No, the crew I believe successfully identified this item as a splash form industrial waste slag/flux.

To me,it's a kind of multi- metamorphic rock that been formed by dynamite

Hi Topher, there is incontrovertible proof that this rock is natural and not man-made. Sorry this was not communicated to the crew earlier. Now that the abundant melted features cannot be explained as man-made, what else do you think it can be?

That's one way. Also, don't discount the amount of slag that was used around railroad tracks that no longer exist.

There is a way to use RU-vid to translate into about 25 different languages. I'm sure Greek is one of them. You would have to change this setting once you start playing the video.
