I have an Ultra Luxe and would love to own one of these and a Deluxe in future. Love Fender’s more modern stuff.

The Elite series was replaced with the current American Ultra and the Ultra Luxe, which was a real shame. These had a totally new neck construction method for Fender. More in line with a Charvel DK24. The Ultra is effectively a high end Am Pro. Perfectly alright but nothing extraordinary and of course cheaper to produce. All to say that the Am Elite is a jem in a long line of discontinued Fender jems! This on has a rosewood fingerboard too, an extra rare one!

We had deluxe Strats, elite and now we have ultra :) No huge difference between each of them to be honest. They are all great!

Great video. I think it's a 2016. I have a nearly identical US Deluxe from 2015 which has a US15xxxxxxxx serial number. Only the Truss rod location and a slight neck heal joint shape are different The Elite replaced the Deluxe in 2016, so this is probably from the first year of production. The Ultra has since replaced the Elite.

Great demo of this 2016 elite strat I’ve just bought a used today after your review same Color and mint condition.

Hello! I own this guitar in blue and an American Deluxe Stratocaster (replaced by the Elite) in red sunburst on an ash body. The Elite has N4 pickups and the Am. Deluxe has S3 pickups and a C shaped neck. I personally much prefer the American Deluxe Stratocaster for playability and pickups. I admit it's a fine line. Love your videos!

So this looks like the American version of the Player Plus MIM Strat with some added electronics features. Pretty cool.

The really are great guitars. I've got a 91 American standard that I purchased new, that I am updating due to wear. I had a pot bridge pickup go bad, so I upgraded to set of lindy fralins with a freeway 10 way switch and locking tuners. I'm going to have it regretted to jumbos and a bone nut now and can't wait. It sounds great, better than ever now, and it sounded good 32 years ago when bought it. And I agree - the 3rd gen Fender noiseless have gotten much closer to a true single-coil tone.

I have the Gen 4 noiseless from Fender on my Harley Benton TE 52 and they sound amazing. These also sound superb Jon. This is the ultimate Fender Strat and it looks it too. Super playing Jon - cheers 😃👍👍❤️

Fender at it's best, these models are now sought after, they were made in the USA from 1983 to 1985 production was then moved to Japan until 1987. The one in this video comes from the 2016 series. I would prefer to find a Japan made sample, but at what price i dread to think. If you want one of the best Fender Strats, this one is worth seeking out, even the trem was a special design and stays intune far better than todays designs unless you upgrade to a vegatrem. Oh look another strat at another price point. Fenders are a rip off at this point.

Big time turn off for me, heel truss adjustment. Come on Fender, get ride of the tired, aggravating tradition garbage. Shessh. Variable back contour, why? 14" radius just for pitter patter play? So, let's see... 'modern' 14", vintage heel adjustment, that'll get 'em all hopin'. Put the pups in a good guitar, not this $200. starter one....
