Flopped 3 sets in yesterdays 6 hour session, all cracked by a board running out with 4 to a straight. Called off on one of them from tilt in a 200 dollar pot. Aces cracked by an ugly 2 pair. Got to the point I had monsters under the bed and was afraid to get thin value. Managed to break even but man was it a session from hell mentally. Love your vlog bro I’m from Fresno and often think to go out and play at capitol in hopes to run into you or Doug!

@@NorCal_Poker we have two small card rooms out here. Club One and also 500 Club. Club one is much bigger. 500 club only has about 5 tables. Ranging from 1-3, 2-5, 5-10. In all honesty the action is pretty good.

I think she might have 8,9 or king,9 so she might have thought she had you beat with 2 pairs and tried to get max value from you seeing how she didn’t have much left so, I think a call there would not be a bad call at all. Just my opinion anyway. I can’t see her drawing for a gutter or two over pairs and hitting that on the river.
@NorCal_Poker
@NorCal_Poker 6 месяцев назад
@@steveh5882 I like your analysis & thought process. I agree with you for 99.9% of players but JT improved to 8 outs to the straight on the turn. Had 2 overs & a gut shot on flop. The other day, she just called down with middle set on a dry board. So only lost to top set! But most players I would think they’d have worse & call. Thanks for the feedback, I always appreciate it!

I noticed when you connect on the flop, you tend to assume you're up against two pair or flush draws and totally ignore the possibility of them having a better hand (higher set) than you. And when you don't connect on the flop, you assume you're way behind and over fold.

Is it bad luck to play out of the rack? I don’t think it is. However, playing out of the rack at the end of a session lets the entire table know where your head is mentally: you’re relatively checked out and on the way out the door, and your range is probably going to be significantly wider than usual.

@@NorCal_Poker you normally play from 9:00am to 2:00pm? I understand your work schedule dictates when you play poker. I play mostly out of Atlantic City. Morning poker in AC is made up of mostly retirees playing 1/2, 1/3 or 2/3/6 limit limping in with AAs or folding to min raises. I try to start between noon and 2:00pm. Evening poker in AC is best fueled by the "free drinks". Sometimes I'll play through the night and into the early morning hours. It never fails; when the morning regs arrive, they kill the acton and it's time to go home. Good luck with the vlog and your career in poker!

When you hit your set why didn’t you jam with those combo draws out there? Giving there was a flush draw on the flop QJ likely would’ve folded

@BUFF4LOSOLDIER 2 месяца назад
@@loomtasticrainbowloom1305I disagree. Id raise this all day. This is something i see at 1/2 and 1/3 all the time. Bad players often donk lead with their semi-made hands like open enders, flush draws, or top pair no kicker. They don't pay enough attention to position pre flop, so they play OOP as IF they were IP and c-bet in these weird spots. Whenever I get donkeys into like this, if I have a similar strength made hand or strong hand I will raise 80% of the time. It's greatly improved my win rate at these stakes. Bad players here hate folding draws and you can charge them obscene prices to see runouts

I dig your videos, I live in LA, but I played a couple times at Capitol, when I lived in Fairfield and worked in Sac off T street. My only tip is to say On that AK diamond hand with J-J-8 rainbow. I love the check, but when the player to your right bets and the 3rd player folds. I would highly suggest a 1/3 reraise. You play pretty sturdy so your image would reflect A-J or even pocket 8s. If you get a shove you fold. But check raising in that spot from out of position with a sturdy image will get almost everything but over pairs(unlikely as he didn't isolate reraise preflop) a-j, 88, and 10-9 backdoor suited. If you get a call you can see the turn and will appear to trap and unless he has it will check and you get to see a river and decide from there Great job on the content, and good luck next time 💪🏽

@romedawg1204 6 месяцев назад
Yes 100%,(dependent on a couple of micro issues i.e opponents stack size, and table image)he thought of c-betting as he stated but didn't want to into 2 people. So a sandbag reraise will force everything but John's in the pocket for quads(obviously)a-j, k,-j and pocket 8s to consider a fold.(even q-j and def j-(x) should consider slowing down due to the preflop raise and check trap) Especially with my man's video image, lastly he had 700 to play so if a fold is needed do to a shove he still had a 500 dollar buy in left which is what he normally buys for. That's my arm chair opinion, May not be right with that hand in particular as he could have it....but def thinks he would improve with a couple of bluffs, especially after the board comes j-j-8 with only 2 callers and 1 fold. Only saying my opinion as he asked for us to comment on it, would love to hear yours if you have a counter point on why you think different.
