This is good news, but we need even more measures because the unemployment rate is extremely high! The international students have been using schooling as an excuse to get permanent residency for years, which has led to rapid population growth, higher rents, higher unemployment rates, more crimes.

Not everyone can get PR , they can only get PR if they have a permanent full time jobs which I believe is not easy , I see they usually try to get married to locals instead 😮

Good, reduce it even further and raise the requirements more. Canadians shouldn't be out of homes because of degree mills and "temporary" workers gobbling up resources.

This is great but belated. Rents have gone up so much in the last five years, my studio apartment has literally doubled in price in that time. If I had to move out I would be forced to live in another country, the south of France is more affordable than Vancouver.

canadians need alot of time to grow and build themselves slowly, flooding the country with immigrants just gives canadians more competition

OHHHH, could it have anything to do with 45% fewer foreign students? Even at that rate it's still extremely difficult to find AFFORDABLE housing supply since greedy landlords are used to a market level disgusting high in rents. Never count on corporate news entities to tell the whole story.

😂really? … keep dreaming. Cost of living and inflation rising for everything else, but somehow magically rents will fall is it? What world do you guys live in?
