I think another thing you have to remember is even with seemingly vegetarian dishes there maybe non halal animal stock or fats in it and one thing we tend to forget is there are things that are vegetarian but it may have alcohol in it which is also non halal , for most gochujang pastes have ethanol alcohol in it . I live in the UK and I love Korean and East Asian food but I'm forever reading the ingredients in the oriental supermarket because ethanol is a sneaky one in the ingredients lol. May Allah give us ease in obeying Him ameen 💜

What you say im totally agree with you. I saw many bloggers who just give some food Halal name and im sure there goes Haram Fat. When i start to point out that things . And ask whats the proof that this Halal whatever its vege but how can you call it Halal. The answer was i got blocked. And tnx to them i start now blogging from Korea co of them. And im exposing every thing. What ever its Halal or Racism. And im working hardly on it.

This is exactly the point I wanted to make. Like eating vegetarian options is not good enough because there's alot of alcohol used, cooking wine etc in basically every type of dish, sauce, stir fry etc. Just try to find a Halal based restaurant if there is,if not then source your own ingredients and cook it. Because if you go to any restaurant just because they have halal or vegetarian options remember they use the same cooking utensils, pots, cutlery, dishing plates etc that they use for pork and other haram stuff so stay away from those as much as you can too. As regards the gochujang you mentioned I love that as well but wouldn't know where to find one that's not laced with alcohol,do you think it's possible to find halal options of it? There's also the use of alot of pork by products in everything, baked goods (cakes, cookie, even creams and milk) can contain and use alot of lard which is pig fat. Every Muslim needs to be careful about what they consume pls. It's not enough to just not eat pork or drink alcohol, you have to be sure that everything else even if not obviously those two,be sure you check that they're not laced with alcohol or pork by-products.

Yes.true.in my opinion, if you stay in non Muslim country,it is better to buy fresh ingredients like vegetables, seafood etc and cook it yourself.and I usually avoid unknown seasonings.since I cannot be sure how much the product didn't have alcohol or animal fats in it.eating clean maybe the way to go.use sugar or salts or herbs or fresh ingredients as natural seasoning.both of sisters study in USA and Germany, and they usually cook themselves.even bread or cookies need to be careful since some of them might have animal fats use in it.

when I lived in Japan the people from Southeast Asia were so friendly! It made me want to visit Southeast Asia and I went to Singapore in Dec 2019. I wanted to visit more in 2020 but then the pandemic started. I hope I can visit one day. Everyone seems to be relaxed, bubbly, smiley, and upbeat. Here in Austria, the weather is really cold for half of the year and peoole are more distant, so you get depressed easily. We may have a lot of affluence but we also have mental health problems.

I lived in Korea. Be careful about believing the waiters' answer! My two friends from Germany were vegetarian (it was horrible to find sth for them!) and sometimes the waiters said it's vegetarian but there was still fish broth in the jiggae, for example. Idk how you can eat there peacefully without worries. Maybe you can just say "I will try my best and if mistakes are made, forgive me" or sth like that? Don't beat yourself up, it's VERY difficult cause they have a dozen of ingredients in every dish.

@@NoctLightCloud correct, according to ISLAM all we have to do is try our best. If we eat something non-halal accidentally without our knowledge, God will not punish us for it. We will automatically be forgiven 👍💯. Islam is ment to be easy for those that practice it with true knowledge.

Although I'm grateful that you interview muslims, it would be nice if you could also find muslims who aren't from muslim majority countries, since their experience living in Korea may be much different than those who come from muslim countries. 아무튼, 영상 잘 봤고 다음 영상도 기대됩니다^^.

A little note, I heard from a sheikh that as long as the place does not specifically say how they slaughter the animals (like in the name of someone else other than allah etc) AND you live in a country that is part of ahl al kitab (meaning Christians', Jews etc) then you can eat the food there like chicken, beef, meat (no pork obv). In other words it does not apply to a country like Korea with no specific religious affiliations but can apply to countries like USA, Canada, Germany, UK etc...

I discovered these three unique types of muslim during my stay in Korea. 1). Good-Quality-Muslim: They eat only halal meat of halal animals and avoid meat of forbidden animals (non-halal). They only go to halal restaurants. Also, if they visit the local Korean restaurant / Burger King / McDonald's, then they eat only shrimp and sea foods. However, they don't know that all beef burgers, pork burgers, chicken burgers, and fries all are fried in the same oil pan. This is barely 5% of the total Muslims population living in Korea. 2). High-Populated-Muslim: This type of muslim eats the meat of a halal animal but doesn't care whether it is slaughtered in a halal way or not. They eat beef/chicken/mutton from any halal and non-halal restaurants, but they avoid haram meat (pork and dog, etc.). They go to Burger King/McDonald/KFC and eat everything except pork. This type of muslim contributes 85% of the total Muslims population living in Korea. 3). Secular Muslim: They don't care about anything. They eat whatever pig/frog/dog/cat/alcohol/soju/beer comes in front of them. Mostly, they are married to a Korean or have to eat at least two meals with Korean colleagues at the workplace. This is 10% of the Muslims living in Korea.
