3rd party batteries in my experience are horrible. i bought 2 extra 3rd party batteries with my canon 60d ( about 10+ years ago ). only battery that survived was the original and to this day it works brilliantly. the 3rd party ones on the other hand died in a year or so. 1 just died and other one had like burn marks where the contacts were, at that point i just could not trust those. But I think you really may have some sort of curse with canon cameras im afraid .
Its wild because I've never had a problem with off brand batteries with any other brand, but the more I look into it the more I'm thinking that I've just been lucky for the most part. I do really love so many things about Canon cameras though!!
