The kids did great! They do sound like non-native speakers, but I think that's expected with your situation. Their accent almost sounds European, it might be the French or Spanish influencing their English accent!
Thanks for your kind words Lily! Yes, it is expected for them to have some sort of accent. And I would say you're right in that French is likely to influence their English significantly! But honestly, I am quite pleased with the progress right now, and I foresee their accent to get better in the future. And even if it doesn't, I think it's already good enough.
Glad that you made this video! I am not a native Spanish speaker, but I plan to raise my children by only speaking Spanish to them(majority of the time). I think that if your level is high enough in the minority language, it should be okay! Having access to native speakers will always be a big plus though!
Hi Chloe! Thank you for your comment. You are right, if you are confident in you Spanish, then I say why not! My Mandarin is only my 4th language, but I still use it exclusively with my kids. We need to just be careful to weigh the tradeoff between teaching the kids the target language vs potentially not being able to express everything we want (which may be detrimental to the relationship if it gets too serious). Good luck!
