We were in a church for 20 years. We loved the people and we loved serving. 3 years before we left, some things happened and we started to leave. We forgave people and did our best to stay faithful. God kept speaking to us to leave, we waited too long, because God got us to the point that we were miserable there. We finally left and are now serving in another church. When God says go, go. Dragging your feet makes it harder.
I love this. God makes it clear when he wants to move you. That’s how it’s happened for me. Thank you for your wisdom. 15yrs in one, currently attending the next for 12yrs. Stayed hungry and thriving.
Everyone needs to be in a small group where they can learn to move in the Spirit as well as a large group and listening to anointed speakers. Church is a lifestyle not a building only.
I love how Bill is guiding people to be humble and be thankful for what you have and make change in your local church for the glory of God. He could so easily look at the camera and be like "come on down and join our school and be a paying member of our church!"
If you have been a faithful, willing to serve member of a local church and you realize a church leadership setting is repeating a pattern of toxic family of origin interactions which God has been working to help you see, that your emotional pains are not being validated and you are in a vulnerable time in life where you truly need support of a local body of believers (and need more than an injection of quarterly conferences), I believe there is reasonable cause to leave your current church. A gaslighting technique Satan can use in this scenario is “you are a quitter who is not trusting God”. You must hold to the truth that you are the pearl of great price who Jesus saw as being worthy of His life; that you were worth dying for.
Happened to me. I felt like the Samaritan in the ditch that everyone passed by. Tried and tried to get help. When I told them God healed me, they said, “of what?” Here I’d been pouring out my heart to pastors and a friend. I couldn’t believe they didn’t even hear me.
This is exactly what is happening to me. My church resembles my toxic family. All churches are wrong , except them. Too many time talking bad about other churches…
We are the Body of Christ. When negativity motivates people to leave, they are fulfilling the desires of their flesh. While this may not be able to be seen by the person at the time, if they sojourn in the Lord they will find their way. There should not be pressure to stay one way or the other. The important thing is that the person continues to grow in the Lord and be supported in their decision. There is too much guilt and shame in the Church for people to make choices to leave to go to another Church.
I did had an heavy depression, people in the church just tried to not talk to me, at any time. I was very lonely and the preacher didn't preach anything hopefull. After church I felt three days more miserable than before.. Later on I was skipping going to church for months. People were just crule. Now im going to another church and they are much happier in life and much more kind. Focus on your relationship with God. What does that need, what do you need to grow in faith with God. Thats just my opinion. it was the best choice for me.
how can a false preacher encourage so many people to grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. Then he isn't a successful in being a false preachter. people who decieve always preach against jesus. he doenst do that.
When you go to church tell me what it is you are seeking,,,??? The paster??? Friends ??? Music,???? Or do you seek JESUS ,,?? HOLY SPIRIT??? & MUCH TRUTH & FOOD FOR SOUL
I am a teenager and I have never felt welcome in my church, I always feel like I’m being judged and none of the leaders say hi to me or acknowledge me. It pushes me away from God and it affects me. My parents won’t move churches since we have been there my whole life. They always judge new members who dont know Christ and push them away rather than try to help them. I have shed so many tears just bc my youth leader doesn’t acknowledge me and won’t welcome me, I’m also a good Christian. Please could somebody tell me what to do?
Blessings to you. It sounds to me like God may be leading you to start a church someday. Are your parents open to having you start a small group with your friends and you leading that small group? Also one person that helped me understand the fivefold ministry the best found in Ephesians 4:11 was J.R. Woodward when he nicknames apostles dream awakeners, prophets heart revealers, evangelists story tellers, pastors also known as shepherds soul healers and teachers light givers. When you receive Jesus into your heart as your Lord and Savior you get all five gifts, but one of the gifts tends to be the most dominant although it can change depending on your environment. Which one of these traits do you relate to the most? That is probably your most dominant trait. Apostles are dream awakeners and they help others use their God-given talents to glorify God. Prophets are heart revealers and they help other people see God as a loving Daddy. Evangelists are story tellers and they lead the lost to Christ. Shepherds are soul healers and they help broken people heal. Teachers are light givers and they have the gift of making people who are normally bored by the Bible to get really excited about reading the Bible because the teachers help them see how the Bible applies to their lives.
IF You Pray! ,please pray for this. My grandma has been seriously feble and weak because 2 days ago her heart Swelled up out of nowhere at about 3a.m. From what my Mom ,who keeps regular watch on her said at 4:30a.m. she was taken to the hospital via an ambulance. Later that day she was taken home and seemed to be recovering well, but then this morning it was worse she didn't even have the capability to move her arms where she wanted them. Again today she was taken into an ambulance ,because she got a stroke with my Mom and Aunt in to keep her company. So if you believe God is a God that heals then Pray Now and invite your friends to pray also so that my Grandma can be renewed in Christ. God bless and Thanks to all Amen
What do you think of the different church that has different spiritual lifestyle or transformation to each other that could change our life? and how is effected us and our family?
Of course it’s ok…people are allowed to do what they want and don’t need the pastors permission. I hate when these men are elevated as if they are qualified to determine what you should do with your life. They are the most corrupt and abusive of their authority and we need their approval to leave? What a joke. I’ve been through this….the leaders don’t want people who earnestly ask questions or need help when there’s toxicity in relationships in the church. If you have a real need almost none of these churches will help or hold sin accountable. Churches are toxic and unsafe places. He thinks it’s arrogant for people to say they aren’t being fed by the pastor when maybe the pastors are lazy and not actually feeding them. The pastor is not always right and they were never meant to be elevated like this.maybe he should consider that this might be valid feedback and take his role more seriously.
Do like the apostle Paul. Try to stay and speak the truth to let them have a chance to become free and let God have a chance to touch them trough you. Then, if they whant you to go, you will have tried your best and the divorce wont come from your side. "And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.
