All he’s saying is you just have to be careful you dont go or do anything which will go against Islam. And he said being in lower level as a football player chances are high of you NOT doing anything haram but if you are in a higher level then chances are higher of you getting involved in something haram you just need to be careful! You can choose which match you want and the entire event only take a few hours, while the fight itself is always less than 30 minutes, usually closer to 20 minutes, and in the event there's plenty of time to pray, and it's statistically proven that there are actually fewer injuries in fighting sports than other sports. There's also no issue of group rivalries since you fight solo, and even when you're at the high level you still don't need to travel much, at least if you're in America since almost all UFC/Boxing/Kickboxing/Wrestling/etc. fights take place in America, which means that most fights will be in driving distance, and if not, you can still get their and be back to your home in a day at most. To my understanding from an Islamic perspective, Football or any other game as a sport is not Haram unless they involve in Haram activities. Now, why taking Football as a career or getting involved in Football in the world cups or in the clubs etc would be Haram? For a number of reasons: 1. You will miss salah should the match fall during the salah times. 2. It will be close to impossible if not impossible to fast if the match is in the month of Ramadan. 3. All Premier League clubs have a betting brand as their main shirt sponsor. The proportion is much higher in the Championship and it’d be rare to find a top club across Europe that doesn’t have an official betting partner. 4. Alcohol is widely sold and consumed 5. Music, nudity, zina and prostitution are part and parcel of these tournaments 8. Overall, Fahsha is glorified and spread throughout these tournaments 9. Israaf is done beyond any limits in these tournaments Players are paid a huge amount of salaries which directly and indirectly are generated from all of these Haram means and sources which make playing as a professional player or getting involved in it Haram.

I am here to warn any such Islamic Scholar who gives Fathwa by his own will which may go against the Will of Allah, he will surely be accompany of Hellfire.
