Just like with the 3D Land & 3D World “no left/right press” challenges, I think a lot of the tricks are just because you push down firmly, while also nudging the clay or tape to the sides. But maybe there’s an actual thing in the physics that these tricks are possible?

I actually discovered a ground-breaking speedrun strategy while playing this game! If you don't fight bowser at 40 shines and just continue collecting up until 50, he wont be angry forever, and you skip the 40 shine fight and go straight to the 50 shine and final bowser fights.
