The only mistake I made in editing the video here was I forgot to put in the part where I do beat Teostra. So that was a wiff on my part lol. Also when I made a mistake with Nergigante, I nearly broke my controller out of frustration lol. And stay tuned for Part 2 in Master Rank. Will get to work on that soon.
Just a short thing: Tenderizing doesn't increase slinger damage. I'm not sure if it lowers stagger values or something, But dying whilst tenderizing is worthless. You really don't do more damage. Trust me, I farmed Safi for 5 hours just to make the most effective Slinger burst set for fun with a Safi SnS. You don't need to tenderize! Great video otherwise. I'm hyped for part two! Love your content! Slight correction: It doesn't matter IF: the head is already a weak point (which is the case on most monsters). If the head isn't a weak point (like on Val Hazak where I noticed this) then tenderizing is effective, because it makes it a weak point. E.g. Paolumu: always 10; Val Hazak: untenderized 6, tenderized 9 I hope this helps
slinger burst can be done with a lot of weapons i begun to honestly use it with a bow cos it looks Cool AF as you literally shoot the clutch claw with your bow XD. as for missions where you cannot complete a quest without due to using the cannon or ballistae then it is passable as a noted exception for those quests
Honestly I don't think the "restart if you attack with a weapon even if it doesn't land" is a very good rule. It seems like it just made this challenge way more frustrating than it already was.
Also, it seems kind of odd that the Claw uppercut was never used, since it's one of the things that make SnS objectively the best weapon for a Claw&Slinger run. The Clawppercut tenderizes faster than regular claw attacks, meaning if you get lucky you can get both a tenderize and a wall slam off when default claw attacks would enrage the monster and make it impossible to slam.
I definitely prefer this style of editing for challenge videos. While I've enjoyed your older videos (and even subbed because of them), most of the videos ultimately came down to "it was tough, but I beat it" for each monster. I like this new style where we see more of each fight, and it feels like the struggle of the challenge is more tangible. Keep it up!
For those who didn't know about the slinger burst, Like me, or that shotgun he did in the begining and want to do it on PC. for SnS(I don't know about the other weapons) you draw your weapon, activate the slinger(for me it was 'C') and then press 'Q' to activate the burst mode. would have saved me so much time if I knew of this before starting my near "Ultimate Ironman" run.
3:43 Yes they are and it’s glorious. With the introduction of the 1000 Dragons attack for bow, piercing pods are amazing. It’s pretty much dragon piercer and Slinger Burst put together when you have piercing pods. xD Also the bane of some hunters: Clutch Claw
I don't really get why people don't like clutch claw, it can be annoying to tenderize, but it adds new techniques and allows for you to do more damage without making you overpowered like wirebug moves
I guess that tendering van get annoying, but nobody said you have to do it, it's just there for some of the worse hunters to get confused on and the better hunters to get heavily rewarded and I love it. Tendering after a wall bang or mount feels so good and then on topic of the thousand dragon attack, with the right circumstances (slinger thorns, damage buffs, tenderized weak point) you can deal upwards of like 2k from each thousand dragons, it's truly insane and I love it.
Red drops are nice no matter what, gets you a wall bang of if you want some nice kinsect buffs. Anyway, if you wanted white drops wallbangs would be the way to go.
The video buffered at the perfect moment, so it sounded like he just said "today we're going to see if it's possible to beat Monster Hunter World." without saying any challenge.
Fun fact claw uppercut counts as three tenderizing claw attacks in other words counts as one stage of tenderizing. So on safi siege you can claw uppercut one part then move to another and tenderize a different part
Hey, I’m the guy who uses way to much slinger shots during a quest, you proved my fighting style of running around like a flailing chicken to be as effective as I thought, nice work!
Reaver, I really really like you and your content, and this video is really good, but I gotta ask, WHY? WHY did you reset after doing a ledge attack WITHOUT DAMAGING the monster 😭😭
Yes, definitely; using only those two you can slam the monsters into walls, dealing large damage, albeit pissing them off in the process. wait for them to de-rage by slingering or clutch clawing at them, repeat.
Ya, I didn’t know it dropped a carve piece, but head breaking is how you access the head critical, World jacked up the break threshold I think, as even my Fatalis LS has issues breaking it with Helm Splitters, I run lvl 7 Crit Eye, 7 Attack Boost, 3 Weakness exploit, and 1 Crit Boost for the record
@@onefastsled Hello from 3 years later. If you never figured it out (or anyone else seeing this) the issue isn't the threshold, it's the damage type. Needs to be blunt damage to get Barroth's head break.
Why self empose yourself with the rule of quitting if you attack, when the attack is nowhere near hitting the monster? Seems to add extra stress for no reason when your not damaging them
Hey @ReaverJolt I know this is a extremely late comment but when you fought Tobi and you pulled out your sword you didn't hit him so your first run was still valid
I'm not sure what it says about me that this kind of playstyle looks a lot easier than... whatever the hell I'm trying to do. But I also haven't played in months and only just got the game again so maybe it's just the video editing doing its job.
I like the dude that ask about beating the game with lbg only, as main lbg player i can tell ya lbg is super strong as any other weapon you should try a run with it
You didn’t hit the tobi on the first mistake your cat broke his tail there wasn’t any damage numbers so you never hit it and you didn’t have to quit. 9:30
It’s something that several weapons can do as part of the Iceborne moveset update, all he’s doing is aiming the slinger with his SnS out, Longsword can do it mid spirit combo as well, it’s a bit infamous for using thorn to shotgun onto a face, then roundslash almost guarantees a KO from sheer damage
