Is It Possible to Save Myla in Hollow Knight?

I got a comment once a couple of months ago saying that it was possible to save Myla with a delicate flower. I never had a chance to test it until now.
The theory is that if you talk to Myla while holing onto the delicate flower she will be saved. I was not sure if she would take the flower or what would happen.
We will go over all of her dialogue and see what really does happen!

@@RelyeaGaming you can save myla without mods. You just have to skip getting crystal dash and desolate dive. It's difficult but possible with the right equipment. I did it like this week

@@rollernkg68 literally how. you need isma's tear or crystal dash to get to monomon's chamber. if you fall in the acid you teleport back to the last platform you were on. literally what works

@@caterpillarplanet Simple. you get double jump with a shade skip, beat dung defender and then go to isma's grove. and now you're maybe thinking, "but it's impossible to reach isma's grove without crystal heart." well yes but actually no. if you go into the broken elevator shaft with dashmaster equipped, you can dash into the spike corridor leading to isma, do a pogo halfway through and then do a frame-perfect dash to make it over the spikes. it's really difficult, but possible. oh, and you need the monarch wings to get past the section that requires crystal dashing.

You actually can get mew though. Look up “nugget bridge glitch”. It works. You basically beat the nugget bridge then make your way left, as soon as the trainer sees you, open you menu and teleport. If you did it right as soon as you move you’ll get a random battle with mew.

You missed a phase! You can get to a phase where myla will be infected, but wont attack and can be talked to!

There are only a couple of phases according the the Hollow knight wiki: Before infected: First encounter Listening again After acquiring Vengeful Spirit Listening again after acquiring Vengeful Spirit Dream Nailed After Infected: After acquiring Desolate Dive---> OOps I missed this one. Eclipse sadly, after killing the radiance it resets to your last save before you fought hollow knight, so the radiance will never be gone permanently

I saw her near the start of the game and came back about 10 times and by my 6th time back she started acting strange and near the 9th time she was fully infected but I didn’t kill her till my 10th time there . That was sad but kind of had to because I felt to guilty letting her be infected and this is only a game that made me sad . Only 3 other games made me this sad and that is undertale’s ending , the near ending of the walking dead season 4 (the game) and minecraft after my pet wolf passed all I could say was ahh man in a sad tone

WittyPractitioner I do use phone, and you don’t need an app for it either, just go onto Safari/google and ask for an English to Elder/Younger futhark translator, you can then Copy paste it into almost anything.

Yes, just don't kill her and she goes back to normal after you kill the Radiance. She isn't an animated corpse like some of the other bugs we see. People seem to think that "Under the Radiances Influence = Dead" for some reason. The Hk also just walks out of his chamber in the Godmaster ending after he's freed Not an in game solution but just thought I'd mention that lol

When she started to attack me, I dream nailed her. I saw her thoughts were saying "bury my mother" and "burry my sisters". I thought she was attacking me because the bugs I killed on the way were her mother and sisters. Then I sent her to the place where she can be with her mother and sisters for eternity.

@@LucidWeedy I actually think ending 1 and 2 don't save her because you only contain the radiance. meaning that the already infected bugs are still infected. But you can get ending 3 or 5 and she will be safe and happy.

You can beat the game without picking up the chrystal heart and the desolate dive, meaning she doesnt get infected. You can just get Isma´s tear and monarch wings by doing a shade skip in basin to get to the Broken Vessel and you can use the Dashmaster charm to dash-pogo-dash through the spike tunnel in the elevator shaft to acces tear. Those skips are actually quite difficult to pull of, but playing the game that way causes her to stay completely unharmed.

There was something so haunting about that first time I noticed she was slowly becoming infected...honestly one of my favorite moments my first play through. She seemed so uninvolved with the rest of the world I experienced outside of that little area only to become completely enveloped by it.

I actually think the song is from the radiance about her fallen enemies or just alive but can't do anything enemies. The knight with the broken nail is the ghost or hollow knight The priest with the gown is the soul master. The beggar with his crown is the pale king. it all comes together.

What if, you avoid killing Myla when she's infected, and then get either the Dream No More or Embrace the Void endings, which kills the infection, right? So you could save Myla that way!

I kept going, but I did feel sad. I started Hollow Knight Almost immediately after playing Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps back-to-back. Apparently, I like beautiful games that put me on emotional roller coasters and/or make me feel like an absolute jerk. 🤷‍♀️😆

In my first playthrough I thought I could save her by dreamnailing her A LOT, because when you do it she starts singing, so I figured out that if you dreamnail her she would somehow escape the radiance

Her dialogue actually do changes after we defeat that wizard and get desolate dive. What i saw is she stop digging, her eye look difference and she ask how long do I have to dig. The first time I entered the mine, I was wondered why the other miner attacked me while the one at the entrance was so kind. Now I know the reason. 😭

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the song she's singing... the knight: either us, or the white knight in front of the palace, or the broken vessel, might have been a female knight? the lady, it's the white lady isn't she? the priest in the tattered gown is godseeker, in the state she's in in the junkpit and the beggar with the crown is the king, since he was so desperate at the end, to create the knight

There actually is a way to save her. Don’t kill her, and get an ending where you destroy the Radiance. The death of the Radiance cures the infection (as shown when you beat the Pantheon of Hallownest) and Myla would be cured

Guys it’s all an allegory for the Knight. The Knight is a parallel to the Hollow Knight. It’s metaphorical shattered nail released the Radiance. The Lady is the White Lady who shunned her kingdom and ran into isolation. The Priest is the Pale King who left his kingdom and children to die, and forsook his duties. The Knight is the beggar with the crown. It bears Hallownest’s weight on its head like a crown.

Poor Myla. I think she's really just in the game to show how the infection affects the bugs in Hollownest. I don't know how Myla managed to stay sane when all of the other miners are fully infected and crazy. Maybe she's not actually one of the Hallownest miners and is an adventurer who came looking for treasure after the city fell. She spent so much time in the mines close to the infection that it finally got to her. I think if the Knight doesn't find Sly and Bretta that technically the same thing happens to them. We just don't see that in the game. After all they are in the trancelike state mumbling nonsense when the Knight first finds them. That's about the same state Myla is in the last time you see her before she starts attacking you.

Once I went in crystal peak and saw the infected bugs I was proud to say that my ‘friend’ (actually and genuinely considered this npc as my friend) would never become like them and that she’s too nice. I decided to come back to her place to visit her again and once I entered I felt this eerie despair in my guts even though I literally went inside. I was like ‘hey why isn’t she singing?’ AND WHEN I TELL YOU MY HEART SHATTERED WHEN I SAW HER INFECTED. I took a break from playing hollow knight for a few days because of that 😭

Out of all the people I’ve spoken to, I seem to be the only person that’s seen her in all of her stages first hand. I’m not sure why but when I was playing through it she intrigued me, as well as the crystals before I had desolate dive so I kept going back as I progressed and saw her in all stages. These are all the stages I saw myself: 1.Happy, singing, mining, original dialogue. 2. Happy, singing, mining, second dialogue. 3. Sad, tired, not mining, dark lyrics in singing, small amount of orange in her eyes. 4. Fully transformed husk which attacks you, but when killed, myla lets out a scream that echoes. Not sure if these are all the stages, but from the people I’ve spoken to, nobody else seems to have seen them?

I saw all the different dialogue, but somehow I missed her having some orange in her eyes. 🤔 Can't tell if that was optimism on my part, or being distracted by the kids. Edited to add: So when I mentioned this stage to my 12-year old, she said I did get it, and we even talked about it. So apparently I did get that phase, but was so tired that I forgot about it. 😂

I don't know what happened to your save, but Myla really has a semi-infected stage once you get the desolate dive, in this stage she stops mining and just stare at the crystals with her orange eyes, but still doesn't attack you. The dialogues also change

I kept checking in on her every time I could, even between getting Desolate Dive and Crystal Heart, and somehow I didn't get that phase. I feel kind of cheated. 🤨 I wonder if it makes a difference that I'm playing the Voidheart Edition on XBox One?

I just got desolate dive and then Crystal heart 2 days in a row and in between them I visited her and there was a phase that you missed where she stops mining and humming, I don't remember the exact dialogue but it was something about the darkness closing in in all caps "dangerous!!" And then seeing the light, it was so sad watching her struggle... I've not visited since I got Crystal heart but I don't think I will, I don't want to see her like that..

there is a stage for her between humming & mining and not humming & still mining, she will not hum or mine and orange gas will come out of her eyes (kind of like how you first find Sly and Bretta)

I love him, but at the same time i kinda regret finishing the entire game with his help. No self effort at all outside of parkour and boss fights, i left ALL explorations to him. Hollow knight is my first ever metroidvania after all.

I had to look up a map a couple of times in my first play through. I honestly didn't always have the time. You are still the one who has to do all the work of platforming and beating the bosses. If you were able to do the pantheons, you are still better than most.

Even after all this time people are still mourning her death. I remember when she was fully infected I saw her still mining so I went up to her and she attacked me. I killed get and heard her scream out and that was the end of that. :(

Myla still has a chance! her dialogue changes after you defeat the soul master, usually this is the same as getting desolate dive but you got dd without defeating soul master so it didn't work.

To save Myla you just have to defeat The Radiance, well, if there is no infection, Myla can't be infected, right?

Yeah, the fact the game ends and you cant walk on the kingdom anymore make the people think thats a loop, and thats isnt, when you beat radiance the infection go out, and myla (also all the other bugs) comes free from the infection. The final scene of this game is just a cliffhanger i guess. Maybe silksong can explain thoe things alot.

Fer real! It speaks very highly of the storytelling skill involved. I started Hollow Knight almost immediately after playing Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps back-to-back, because apparently I enjoy visually stunning games that emotionally abuse me. 🤷‍♀️😂 So far, I've had moments in HK that made me sad, but the Ori games made me pause more than once so I could just sit and cry it out (especially the second one, which had some truly soul-crushing moments). For me, HK has a more generally depressing feel to it, but the Ori games were emotional roller coasters that were cute and funny in one scene and then absolutely heartbreaking in the next. If you enjoy HK but haven't tried the Ori games yet, I highly recommend them both.

I think killing Myla only made me a little sad because I started playing this game almost immediately after playing both of the Ori games back-to-back, and those games wrung my emotions something fierce. Not sure what it says about me that I keep picking games with stunning visuals that emotionally abuse me. 🤔😂
