I think there's going to be a huge (at least 5-10 year) demand for coding skills, just because the threat of AI will scare people away from learning while AI still can't actually write code.
Love the video. Totally agree with all your thoughts. Your work ethic to break into the industry is such an inspiration. Idk how you stay so active with your Online presence and self study, send me some of that energy! 😅
I'm like you. A bit older than the average code learner, but bringing a dedicated work ethic with me that probably is not found often. I'm taking the self-taught route with an ultimate goal of doing strictly work from my own business, maybe several. AI is a great TOOL, not replacement. Perspective on this issue is paramount to seeing it for what it is. Being a dev comes with constant learning and adjusting to new technologies as they come about. One may start as a web dev and end up developing apps based out of AI systems in 5 years. The bottom line is that coding skills and what comes from learning them constantly will never die, just evolves. Thanks for the thought-provoking content!
You can learn the theoretical computer science concepts without attending university. A community college diploma or an associate degree covers the real skills used day-to-day. Build in-depth, real-world projects including non-web projects.
I honestly don't think it is anymore man, when you have people with years of experience struggling to find jobs, how are we supposed to get jobs? I've been looking for four years.....nothing. It honestly might be time to find a new career.
Well you're already well into your studies so it makes sense. BUT if you already have a good amount of professional experience and were going to start a CS degree soon not already started then I personally wouldn't do it.
