I know Lumix isn't as widely spread across the globe I love my Canon Cameras so probably keep them or at least one of them 😉

Hi. There is an option to set any function button to lock/unlock dials/buttons. So you dont need to have a "switch" like canon's. Every button is a switch on Lumix. I use the front fn button to lock unlock, without moving my hands at all.

Hi Baris (or is it Mark?) thanks for the info I have set mine with the front button now as well ? I like it and it maybe a simple thing but that's another reason to go for the Lumix over the Canon Cheers Hieth

Canon R6 mkii. Strictly speaking of image quality, I think Canon is better. I have both. Everyone makes comparisons between sony, panasonic, canon, but no one talks strictly about the quality of the image, only that one has a large HDMI plug, another is better in low light, one has the buttons placed better... We are more interested in the quality of the image , no log or raw...

You are spot on Adi hence why I have kept my Canon R3. Like you I have both and have now brought the Lumix S5MKIIx to go with my S5MKII - I have swapped out my R6 MKii as having 4 camera bodies is greedy but if the R5 MKii and R1 come out sometime this year that may change thanks for watching and commenting cheers Hieth

imho , Lumix has better buttons layout and menu, also more features for video, manual focusing magnification / picking ,zebra, screen in sunny weather looks brighter on Lumix . Lumix is just a brick , well made , bulky , yes . Flaws are : AF, photography side , and lack of widespread use of the system ( bad marketing ) . I have Sony a7IV and III , and Lumix s5II and Lumix reminds me Canon 5dm3/4 , but more technologically advanced and thoughtful ( what is missing in Sony)

I think you have nailed it with that Mex as I am 60% photo and 40% video I am probably going to go Lumix for my Video Content and keep my Canon R3 for Photos cheers Hieth

Hey Jay - you never know I might just do that if I decide to go Lumix rather than my trusted Canon as if I do I will get the S5MKIIX to go with the S5MKII in place of my R6 - it is just the speed of the auto focus on the photo side of things that is holding me back as I do a lot of sports photography - but I will probably keep my Canon R3 for that - thanks for stopping by cheers Hieth

The fact that you get a mechanical shutter on the non x is a bonus for that photography and rolling shutter

What do you think about the s5iix for sports . I love the video , but as you said I think the r3 is great for the photo part . But I do want to stick to one brand . Maybe the lumix g9ii

The Lumix lens isn't restricted to Lumix because of the L mount alliance ( God I hate saying that). You get native Sigma, Lumix and Leica lenses.

I looked at both in the store. Lumix is larger/boxier and feels "clunkier" than the more user-friendly, hand-friendly Canon.

It is all down to personal preference I do understand where you are coming from and although I love the colours and options on the Lumix I prefer my Canon R3 and may even swap my lumix to Canon when the R5 MKII comes out cheers Hieth

Hey Dude - they both have their pros, it is dependant on what you are going to use them for photos, video or both - I am just making another update video on who should choose which one - I love using them both but for different reasons - if it is photos then the Canon Wins if it is Video then Lumix Wins if you use it for both then that's the tough choice but I am staring to love the Lumix for video - hope that helps and if you are interested I will go into the detail a bit more with next weeks video (not the one tomorrow) - cheers H

Hi It has made it happen even better which is great to see as other brands don't appear to support upgrades like this the Auto Focus is improved and I love that it now allows you to select motor vehicles etc, the image Stabilisation has also got better but it was great anyway. I have not used the cloud function or proxy video yet hope that helps cheers Hieth
