2 Timothy 3 14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
My grandmother would have told you that you being concerned and thinking about it shows that the Lord is calling you and you are hearing him. She was the dearest Christian I ever knew.
@zae4557, if you have truly surrendered your soul to Jesus and proclaimed Him as your Lord and saviour, then nobody can pluck you from His hand. We all sin and fall short of His glory. Confess that sin and turn away from it. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you avoid whatever situation that may tempt you my friend. Don't beat yourself up when you fall. Get up and keep fighting our adversary. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
At 41'45" Spurgeon's introduces a head scratching statement about England. This makes me think about the second century Christian writer Tertullian who stated, 'What does Rome have to do with Christianity?' Or possibly not 'Christianity' but Jerusalem. It seems that throughout history various 'authorities' have tried to claim the title, 'defender of the faith'.
