I just came to Ecuador about a month ago to a town called Zamora in the foothills of the Andes about 1.5 hr plane trip from Quito - this is not a tourist area so almost all natives and no or very little English - I am actually teaching English at a small school here - so I am getting the real Ecuador - authentic...so far it has more positives than negatives - not many negatives actually - and a nice change from the US
Robert Bermudez Despite its size, Ecuador is a very diverse nation and if you have the chance you should visit other cities and regions in Ecuador. I can tell you that the city where I live, Guayaquil, is totally diferenr from Zamora and the other Cities in the Andes, to give you an example
Thank you very much guys for this video. The video indeed worth it guys. Im Ecuadorian and american citizen and I will definitely share this video to my friends in the States. I know Cuenca my mom is from there and is a wonderful city I enjoy every time I go there. Every thing you say in the video is true. Im glad you enjoy the beautiful Ecuador
Ecuador is located in the middle of the world which is the equator and that's how it was given its name and its know for exporting of bananas and also for the Galapagos islands where the scientist Charles Darwin had his evolution of theory idea. beautiful country with very loving generous people.
SO NICE WHEN YOU REALLY TALKED NICE ABOUT MY COUNTRY, ENJOY IT, MUY LINDO SABER LO BONITO QUE SE EXPRESAN DE MI PAIS ECUADOR, MAS BARATO QUE OTROS LUGARES SINO COMPRUEBENLO Y CON SUS PROPIOS OJOS, thank you, greetings from Las Vegas, Nv.
NICE, LOVE WHAT YOU SAY, MY COUNTRY IS FOR EVERYONE. WELCOME TO MY COUNTRY, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO STAY, BUT MY COUNTRY IS UNIQUE, LONG LIVE ECUADOR, QUE VIVA ECUADOR
Cuenca (i live there a couple of years back) is the new retirement community for Americans due to having easy immigrant laws, same monetary units and great healthcare. Is one of the safest compare to Chile, Argentina, Colombia and forget about big cities in Venezuela, Cuba or Brazil. Food and cost of living are affordable and a short flight to anywhere in the Americas. Good video and good luck on your travels. Que viva la atenas de los andes y Ecuador.
Ecuadorian people are very friendly i was born there but grew up in the US and I’ve had the friendly welcoming vibes imbedded in me since i was a little girl. My moms from ambato but i have family from Guayaquil and it’s so awesome the food is so goooood
Ecuador is amazing. I haven’t been in almost 14 years but my parents are both from there. We used to spend our summers as children in Sangolqui. My mother was born in Quito but most of her family is from Loja. My father came from a tiny town called Puellaro. I fully plan on taking my husband and son this coming summer. It is certainly one of the best places to visit. Thank you for this awesome video!
Loved the video. You two are so cool, and I am 55 years old. You two have so much energy and you are very easy going....definitely a big plus! Thanks for the info on the surfing...yes, I am a surfer and would love to do that. Where are the best places to stay along the surf beaches? I know you two live in Cuenca, but that's pretty far from the coast..at least a few hours or more right? I know some spanish, but would have to attend a formal school to really get it down well and practice it. Cool that the people help you with language and conversation. I really like the slower pace of life there....I could fit into that well. I will continue to follow your Ecuador adventures. Thanks so much. Peace..out.
There's so many different around the world people that want to visit in Ecuador as a tourist that you see the beauty degrade the people the kosher and the greatest food ever in Ecuador and even a beautiful beach have a Galápagos Island defense
Oh no you guy's forgot about me ha ha ha, You guy's are awesome man i love you guy's, I like your videos to there very good info from Ecuador I love it Saludos Desde Florida Mis Amigos :)
I am dental hygienists I make decent money but I want to buy property in Ecuador or Colombia. I feel like Ecuador is boring not trying to offend nobody
Guys I was in ecuador too and the only thing that I can say is Ecuador is fantastic and awesome, I was in cuenca and the weather was fantastic the people kind and friendly and the view was great, I was in beach montañita and guayaquil and both places were cool keep it up like this guys congratulation ecuador
Haven't been here in awhile, but, you two are just as cool as ever.... If/when I get to Cuenca, have to stop by and chat a bit. Your laid back style is very appealing, especially when I'm coming from stupid, stressed out North America. Ecuador Si !!
Congratulations guys, great video, I’m Ecuadorian and las week I traveled to my country, I fall in love with Cuenca compared with others cities, the places, the people and the wether it was a amazing, definitely I recommend Cuenca to visit and why not to stay!!!
....Very helpful video...I used to work in a 100% Hispanic town in the USA...I won't say where, but trust me, it was all Spanish...I learned Spanish "un poquito"....It was the only town and place of business in my life that treated me like a king....The Mexican or Spanish cultures in general have a superior life- style than American in my opinion...The grocery baskets had 4-5 kids each....the man wore the pants in the family...There were more $100 bills than I've ever seen ....they had a wallet full of $100 bills.....and I found out why when I looked outside and they were driving 1963 Chevy's, sometimes rusty with bald tires......no car payment so money to spend....
Hello, Cuenca is a very beautiful city, Ecuador actually isn't dangerous like Colombia for example, but you have to be cautius because is a third world country in the end of the day
I have lived in USA practically all my life and we are Third world here as well. I Jamic - the whole world is beautiful but there is a third world everywhere, having visited my Ecuador countless times thru the years and being able to compare it to many nations in Asia and Europe, yes there is ultra modern and OLD WORLD CHARM ... You could not tell from this video because it shows Nothing ....
+Bobby Hill can you stfu. no one cares about Colombia. this is a video about ecuador lol people don't just visit countries for women either and ecuador has just as much if not more to offer than colombia and probably has less crime as well.
simply wonderfull! Ecuador is a tiny country but is a piece of paradise that we are not allow to waste as human beings, resourses should go to countrys is development and cities that start fresh and new to apply diferent systems and preserve mother nature. dont let the extractivism win.
Thank you for the video and tips. Are there cool activities to do? Like theater, concerts. Is there a nightlife at all? Is there anything open late for a drink or coffee?
I'm an expat Texan and have been in Buenos Aires for 3 years. Prices are very high with an average of 40% inflation. I love the people and the European atmosphere, but it's getting too expensive in B A. . I teach English and have thought about relocating. is there a demand for English teachers? And what does it cost per month on average fo a small apt. and living expenses?
Thanks for visiting my beautiful place and I hope 🤞 you can upload a picture and videos from all my country and enjoy 😉 you time here have a nice vacation
You guys live there and your English is very good. Is english spoken by a % of natives? I assumed spanish was the primary language. We are coming in a month! :)
Good morning guys and Happy New Year... I have a question (s) in regards to moving to Ecuador. My brother currently lives in Managua Nicaragua and he's thinking about moving. I've been watching your videos describing your thoughts and opinions about living in Ecuador, especially Cuenca. If he decides to visit Ecuador, how long will his tourist visa allow him to stay there so that he can start the process to obtaining temporary resident status?
I have 3 weeks off coming this January. There are regions in the world that I have never been to. Asia and South America are places i want to see. I can go to only one place this trip. Im thinking either Thailand or Ecuador are my 2 top choices. If i go to Ecuador ill go Quito for sure. What are 1 or 2 other must see places in Ecuador ? Ill have only about 17 days tops to see it all. I want to get a overall good sense of what Ecuador is all about. I heard the train trip thru the devils nose is an interesting one to check out.
Hi, This is the 2nd of your videos I've watched now. I like this one a lot for the color and street life it shows. I wanted to get on a plane just to get one of those wraps they look so good. And the people did look friendly. One suggestion I'd like to reiterate is this: When you're talking about prices and values be specific about everything. Avoid saying things like 'super cheap' or 'really affordable'. It would be so helpful for instance if, in addition to telling us how much a bunch of bananas cost (great price and bananas are endangered) how much did that wrap cost? I wanted to know right as you bought it. I hope it was like $2...that would be a deal. If it was $5 that would be like the states or even more than you'd pay in Texas. Again you mentioned 'super cheap' airfare. What would be helpful is if you told us what the best deal you've heard of...like I've seen on CheapoAir R/T from NYC $350!!!! Is that real. If that's real, I'm coming. If it's $1500 not so fast...you know? I'd really like to know more about availability of studio apartments and cost/location. I think you mentioned that yours cost $350 which is very good but not 'super cheap'. Super cheap would be like $200. So, be as specific as you can. While you're walking around give as much detail as you can. Show us a couple of rooms or studios that anyone getting off the plane could get without contacts. This sounds like a lot but really I'm only asking one thing...BE SPECIFIC!!! Please! So, is $350 R/T realistic or is it a scam? Is it possible to stay beyond 90 days? That's important to know. I'd be much more inclined to come if I knew I could stay for 6 months or a year. Is it enough to just leave by going to Peru for a couple of days? Thanks again. I'm becoming a fan! One other question: In the last video you mentioned internet speed is abysmal so I wanted to know if fast internet is completely and absolutely non-existent or just hard to find? If it's just hard to find, where do you find it? How much would it cost to have it at your residence or is it absolutely not possible? These are the kinds of specifics that really would help. Thanks again. Peace
Wow! That's crazy about the internet and yet you put out all these videos. You must be very patient and spend a lot of time at it. I appreciate your efforts. You are bound to be successful as guides for sure. You can't miss. I'm encouraged by this additional info. $400 for a 6 months extension wouldn't break the bank so it really helps to know that. What happens after 9 months? How does one go about applying for residency? How much does it cost? Is it doable? Thanks for the feedback...appreciate it! Peace
I've seen a lot of videos in my research but we're city people and nobody has anything to say about living in, or closer, to the city and the high rise buildings. Can you tell me anything about it.
carolyn lucca well I was born and raised in nyc surrounded buy high rises . They don’t have high rises in Cuenca ... only a few in Quito. But Cuenca is quite modern and there is a neighborhood called new Cuenca where they build modern apartment buildings and lots of gringos live there where they have modern supermarkets , restaurants, malls, movie theaters and pharmacies/ convinience stores ... alll walking distance. I had no trouble moving here - Karen
I'm thinking of visiting Ecuador to learn Spanish I think ecuadorian spanish much easier than the rest of latin countries but I'm not sure how it's gonna cost me living there lets say for 4 months
