Alone, I couldn't even fathom the thought of such a meal, but with this great RU-vid community and my friend Lois joining, this is a celebration and immensely grateful to get to share this with you.
On our visit to San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area, we found a very unique brunch! It's like a buffet, but the items are made to order and plated perfectly to your table. Fine dining mixed with the fun and curiosity of the buffet/AYCE. However, after looking at the price, we did somewhat of a double-take. Priced at $200 - $250 per person (depending on the dates), and an extra $50 per guest for a window seat, we debated long and hard. Perhaps, it was the "revenge travel" after these last two years, or just celebrating that we get to see each other in person, but we decided to indulge; and indulge we did!
Gracious and welcoming hosts like Aura and Jeff made the brunch special as we were guided through a menu exquisite dishes; all of which garnered the muttering of "it's the best I've ever had"... From the beluga caviar taster at the start, to the lobsters and steaks and seafood, all were outstandingly prepared...and to guild the lily a bit more so to speak, shavings of truffles adorned the best egg dish I've encountered.
And just as one could not contemplate eating more, along comes a tower of desserts! You would be satisfied with a coffee and a cookie you say? Well, you don't get to pick and choose unfortunately (or fortunately), they bring each and every dessert item to you! What a nice problem to have.

Lovely you and Lois were able to splurge on this meal. The scallops were cooked properly. so often they are cooked too much on the top. Desserts looked beautiful.

Cooked to order buffet looks like a winner, the price is pretty extreme but the quality looks fabulous. I would definitely give the whole menu a try! Great to see Lois again!

This buffet used to be self-served before the pandemic, there were a lot more selection and of course it’s always fun to go out and get whatever you want on your own. Sadly, I don’t think they’ll operate the buffet the same as pre covid time😭glad you enjoyed it though!

Great meal with so many great foods, I would prefer a buffet as to being served. Worth the money for expensive foods. So nice to see Lois in your videos as she has some good input and a wonderful personality, great for having her Tim. That price.. PLUS the time limit.. PLUS you have to wait on servers to bring your food.. nope... price is not justified in my opinion even tho the food looked and sounded fantastic.. that's still too steep for my books. Thanks for all the work you do showcasing these places. Really appreciate being able to live vicariously through you lol

Hi Tim, My niece was married at Oceano Hotel, Half Moon Bay 3 years ago this August!.Very sunny day & a gorgeous spot.Mavericks is near Ritz & has the highest waves in the country ( 50+ ft in January!).It's v famous for surfing.The brunch was v extravagant but ur paying 4 Ritz Carlton level of personal service and ambience plus v.expensive top quality caviar,lobster,meats, etc.made to order with attention to detail that is unobtainable to the general public.What seafood u can buy right now is out of reach $ wise, even at my go to,Trader Joe's. Also, CA has much higher labor costs. If u can afford it,I say go for it.Special occasion only.Leave the kids at home.Ur spoiling yourself, Tim!!!Lois is always a nice dining companion but wld like to hear her speak more.

Only once is my life did I have an all you can eat buffet with Beluga caviar. It must have been in the early 1980's. That kilo blue tin had a tablespoon so you could actually serve yourself as much as you wanted. The buffet was around $40. and I am sure I got my moneys worth on caviar alone.

This buffet food channel you are in charge of is allowing you to write off your meals as a business expense. And rightfully so. You are a good representative of all the places you are eating in. Hey again Tim, and hello Lois. Mate, I started to watch this video five days ago but became chronically ill (Heart Attack and Stroke three years ago which is still causing some concerns.) and had to go to bed and stay there until today. When I went to bed; we had beautiful sunshine and today is the end of Autumn and Winter starts on 01 June. The Weatherman tells us to expect snow tonight so I am in the right place for it. I just had to watch this video, because I visited my late sister in Contra Costa County (San Francisco) back in October 2015 and I loved the place; especially Oakland. I remember going to Fisherman's Wharf but could not find any of the legendary crab restaurants as there was some sort of disease in the crab population at the time. I bought a half dozen cooked crabs but had to ditch them after that scare. I had been so looking forward to them as well. I came t the conclusion that had I become an undertaker; people would have stopped dying. I remember the Embarcadero well and Jack London square. We had a ride on the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential yacht The POTOMAC that was tied up in Oakland. Fantastic memories. Mate; that meal at the Ritz Carlton was a bottler. I thought when it said THE RITZ Carlton in the introduction, that it was the Same Ritz Hotel in San Francisco, where I had lunch. Mate the cost of your lunch at USD $250.00 which amounts to AUD $348.18 would have to be so special. Fantastic videos mate. Keep it up. I look forward to receiving more podcasts. Cheers my friend.

They keep bringing wonderful dishes to try but it's always the desserts you can not resist.. At least you took us to this restaurant & show case their menu. Nice to see Louis again. Love that you still collaborate with so many friends from across the years. But wow, this place is Michelin quality. A little pricey but you definitely get the quality you pay for. Question; do people request not to be in the episode hence the blurred individuals? When using cell our phones we tried to use portrait mode or the food mode because it automatically blurred the background. Anyway, the seafood and everything looked fabulous but that Lamb alone seemed worth the visit. Love your what you do. Stay with the expensive items and stay away from carbs. You then will get your moneys worth. You can eat so much more. Carbs like pasta, breads are your enemy 😊
