I love how Swatch advertise their bio-ceramic and recycled fishing net straps as eco-friendly, but at the same time sell us a watch that isn't repairable!
Technically this one is, as the watch isn't hermetically sealed like other System51 watches are. If Swatch or an independent watchmaker are willing to take a look at it, it should theoretically be possible to replace any faulty parts.
It's true, lotta reviews don't mention it but it has a snap case back so technically you can remove the movement or replace it. But will probably cost as much as the watch itself to do either and by the time you'd want to do that (like in 2 years) I'm sure the rest of the watch will be completely shot. It's like servicing a Seiko 5, you technically can but no one does it.
Even without considering the humiliation of having to wait in line for hours without knowing if they have enough stock, $400 is too much for this. At $200 it is worth it.
Nice review thanks. I bought a moonswatch just for fun and I've worn it a lot more than I thought I would this summer. It is nice and light and ideal for wearing on hot days. The blancpain X Swatch is interesting too, agree that it is not worth the outlay but I like the colourful vibes from it and will probably get one. I recently picked up a Helm Komodo and that worked out about the same price as this Swatch release, but so much more watch for your money with the Komodo.
@@RelozoThis is really simple. Make a plastic mold and make as many plastic cases as you need. Stick an NH36 in it. Print a dial and the rest is just as simple. They make diver copies all the time, so the bezel is also made in a plastic mold. I have seen fake Rolexes for $200 to $300 that were were made of steel. Plastic is going to be hard? They will be selling copies for $50 and they will be better than the original.
It is a 100% a Swatch watch. There are no Blancpain parts in the watch. It is double the price of a normal Swatch watch with that movement. I have so many real watches to wear, I just don’t need it.

People don't get it, it's not meant to be a serious watch, it a fun collaboration, it's a creative move, go see what variety Casio or gshock has with resin..people shouldn't s*hit on this collab
Probably... Will be in the bin or collecting dust in someones drawer in three years, where as people with a real Fifty Fathoms will still have it on their wrist or are holding it for it's value

Mine changes 10 minutes before 12. There will always be a tolerance for date change depending on how the hands were set. At this price point for a mass-produced watch, it's expected. Even expensive luxury watches can have the same issue, but more uncommon due to stricter QA.

Just like everything branded. Just like Gucci shoes, Mercedes Benz cars, iPhone, Macbook, Nike, luxury watches, etc, the costs are a fraction of the price but the client decide if it is worth to pay or not.....besides, these watches are not compulsory to buy, no one is forcing us.
I didn't buy the moonswatch because it was made of plastic, and this one looks no different to me, so I'll just pass again. Now waiting for 2024 collab with Rado, and 2025 collab with Breguet to see if they still go with plastic.
It’s nothing more than a cash grab. Take a watch that you sell for $200, put a posh name on it and sell it for double the price. No different than putting some Lambo badges on a Golf GTI and saying ‘Look, it’s a Lamborghini’. It shows just how stupid we have become as a society when we revere the name more than the actual product.
