That is a beautiful box but…$$$$ I would recommend Volta as a middle ground between a custom and bottom end case. Plenty of space between watches and the pillows fit my 7.25 wrists perfectly. The wood finishing is not as nice, but overall quality looks really close for 1/5 the price.
Got a beautiful custom-made watch box from my girlfriend's dad who's a carpenter for my birthday! Over the moon with it. Even the little cushions were sewn and handmade by his friend! This one looks great too, gorgeous wood!
I like the review you did on the unbranded box with boslterenig on the inside of the lid. For the money like you say is the best box for the price. I would take pics of that one and have it made.
Great review. I have seen other watches move around in their boxes. Is it a snug fit to prevent movement or do the watches have room to wiggle out of place? Example, dials face in different directions over time.
I'm looking for some time some of your videos and I came across this one. I have 2 hobbies: wood and watches. I'm adding the wood production to my business and I'm looking to produce watch boxes. I can tell you one thing: this box is made from sapele (most probably) or mahogany. Cheers.
Customizable is nice, but the price point, yikes, I'd prefer to put that toward another watch. Plus, it's a lot to spend to not see my watches. I'd much rather see my treasures than look at a box, but that's me. I'm the opposite on the limit. I'd be sad with only eight, lol. I display all of mine (300 plus now), and the watch boxes I have are glass windowed, solid wood build, perfect cushion size, plenty of space, and under a hundred bucks. I'm glad you like it though, and it's a beautiful item, for sure and a fantastic review. Reminds me of a fine cigar box. Excellent craftsmanship! Congrats to you!
A very nice case for a very nice collection indeed. Really like the smart design, thoughtful customizations, and overall build quality (trusting you on that last one). Value for the money, looks like a nice place for a collection to stay safe as they wait for another day on the wrist.
I love the designs by Scatola Del Tempo. They keep a special cushion on lid to protect the glass of the watch. similar to other watch box you got from ebay. I scrambled ebay and etsy and trust me, I could not find anything similar and the closest I found was Scatola Del Tempo, which is priced in 1000s.
Nice case no doubt ... but I really appreciate a glass top for viewing the collection and ... "charging the eco-drives" :) ... I know, unnecessary but still, the visual aspect of glass tops gets my vote. Love the quality.
You're the second person to comment about that, I never even considered charging of Solar watches as an issue.. Thanks for bringing that post up 👍👍 cheers
It's beautiful! I think the only downside for me personally would be with some of my solar and ecodrive watches not getting any light. That's why I love the idea of a solid wood case but with a glass top also. I have also found a few watch boxes with wider pillow compartments so I haven't had issues with my watches touching each other. And some of my watches are big. Anyway, great video as always bud...
If you can recall, please advise the size cushions that you ordered. I know that they give a sizing guide, but I would like to benefit from your actual size experience.
Got to make one on my own. Got some solars, need glass on top, plus i can then make spacing according to small/big watch cases. Oh, and the joy of self pleasing with wood...LOL Wish me wood luck! 😜😉🤣 Thanks for this mate, be well. PS Forgot the olive tree trivia: answer is 75+ years...! That one was mid-large size, got many! PS 2 Tell me that huge caliper is not a Starrett..... if yes this case is cheap compared! LOL!!!!!!
@@PeterKotsa Yep, if you can reach'em...lol, or else some nets under and wait (but others get'em before you!) Btw some of those big old ones have the ability (depends on weather/season) to give "sweet" olives right on the tree, we call "stafido-elia" (raisin olive). Can be eaten at once. But once you try these all other olives are... meh... HAHAHAHA Didn't tell me, is that a Starrett??? Sell it to get a (decent) SFIKO!!! 😉😋 Larrikinfor life!!! hahahaha
It annoys me when the cushions are not the right fit for my watches. My wolf watch box is nice but the cushions are made for a man with a 6 inch wrist. Mine is 7.25 inches.
Idk what their diameter is but something like a closed cell foam pool noodle comes to mind as a possible option. Call me silly but I use them for things in my RC boats but they cut cleanly and work well for what they are 😇 ..
Hi Tim, good to hear from you brother, yeah that case is definitely gonna go the distance. Here is a video I did recently of the Rolex.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-u9ZSsXZ4lBE.html cheers mate
Hiya Pete! I cringed a little when you spoke about mens' jewellery 😂 Recently I got a new watchbox for 12 watches and I was delighted as it was more spacious, leaving more room for every than I had expected!
I mean it’s beautiful but it’s the same as me buying a MacBook Air as a laptop and a pc as a desktop, why do you buy premium when it’s in a bank safe. If go with a pelican case
Beautiful cases, but as I saw on their site you do pay for the quality.. I do like the idea of having a solid case I don't know if I like the glass/plastic that is on some of the cheaper ones. If you ever decide to give it away just send it up here to Q.L.D and I will find it a great home.. hehe
Quality wise, I cannot fault this in any way, it really is finished and built properly. Price wise however, I totally agree with you. As for a watch box campaign, I don't quite follow?..please elaborate cheers
Oh I see. I’ll give you the back story, when I asked NN to send this custom box for review, it was 110 days ago Unfortunately due to COVID and world situations, this parcel spent over 3 months in transit So yeah, definitely a coincidence if you’ve seen others just recently 👍 Cheers
Boxes are too easy to make to spend that kind of money. Then again, I do woodworking and could crank one out in a couple of hours. They have a pretty lucrative business if they're getting $600 a pop. (It might be my monitor but I think the wood you have there is Mahogany.)
I prefer the watch box you showed with the $40 for 10 watches (40:10=$4 for each watch). The beautiful box costs $655 for 8 watches (655:8=$80 for each watch). Really, it's not cheap box, it's not inexpensive, but I mean it's very expensive!!!
Definitely not cost effective when you put it that way. I suppose, its like buying a Rolex Submariner...is it really worth the money being asked? You can get so much more bang for buck that's for sure....👍
I've got a 3 watch case , trouble is I have 5 currently with 2 more needing repair . Mine tend to clash although I've never had any issues with damage. Mine sit in the safe . Could do with a better one, but I want to get my collection down. I'm happy now to wear just a few, but to enjoy them for what they are. I honestly like my little collection and doubt I will be adding to it . Nearly cured, lol.
Ha…now they just have to customize it so that it comes from another country. The bottom has probably dropped out of the Russian watch and accessory market at this point.
Very often I see that book a man and his watch . I don't understand what is the heck with it . It is one of the cheapest content watch book on the merkat . It worths 1 dollar no more. put a book from Daniel George instead
