no. Like any nation, Jamaica is going thru a recession. The Sprint Factory is still working OT. But I like how things are working out. Other nations get to show their their talent.
Preach!!!! Because for whatever these delusional people can’t accept that. It’s happened to many nations. There was a time Britain was dominant, there was a time when America was dominant, then Jamaica was dominant & now it’s up for grabs
Jamaicas big three (preferrably Elaine & Shelly Ann) normally wins the 100m or finish in the top 2 when they are healthy. Whenever you see those two finishing outside of the top 2 they are normally nursing an injury if they are not injured this year we all know it will be a showdown for olympic gold between Elaine & Shelly Ann.
When I was in high school,I had a friend named Marshall Dill that was an all-american sprinter at Detroit Northern High. He carried his success to Michigan State gaining all Big ten status as well as All American. At the All-city track meet, one of the coaches told him to limp around like he was hurt. When his opponents saw that, they knew that they would be the next City champ. Anyway it messed up their focus and Marshall blazed a 9.8 in the 100yd dash to become city champ. My point is don't let the Jamaicans fool you. THIS IS THE OLYMPICS. Is the last go round for the Big 3? Could be. There are sideline experts like myself all over the world making predictions already. But it's a wait and see. I'm rooting for the USA,I'm saying don't take Jamaica lightly. It's not over til it's over and somebody is on the podium.
I highly doubt Marshall dill ever ran sub 10.00 much less 9.8 Ben johnson was the first sub 9.90 and sub 9.80 in HUMAN HISTORY. Marshall Dill is 70+ so 9.8 is unlikely and impossible.
You can check the Detroit Free Press High school state Track and field records for yourself. Marshall was one of the best high school sprinters in the nation from 1970 to 1971. He got invited to the Golden West Track meet in California which only invited the best of the best. You can doubt all you want. Doubt is not facts.
@stratkiller2531 And anyway,my point was I thought that Elaine Thompson Herah was playing possum with a feined injury. She was not. I was wrong about that. And as far as times go,Marshall ran 100 YARD dashes,Ben Johnson ran METERS. IOOM = 109 YDs. Regardless of how fast Marshall was,11 Big Ten individual titles speaks for itself.
Not so top athletes will have to make way for the new, we're at a time for change, dont think the new will not represent, but the dominance is in the very near future. Shelly and elaime wont be around but other will be, the new young talents are already here.
Don't go ahead of your self saying Jamaican female sprinting dominance might fade you don't know that not because the sweep the 100m event in the Olympics and World Championship they won't win all the time so no need to exaggerate. Besides talented sprinter in Jamaica always came out of no where and start to dominate. For example, no one knew who Shelly Ann Fraser was until 2008, same with Elaine she came up out of no where in 2014-2015 and look how their career turn out. No one expect Shericka Jackson who was a 400m specialist now ran 10.65 and 21.41. More will come up out the blue alot of talent is in the country so don't put this narrative on this platform that their dominance might fade Jamaica have too much talent in sprinting for it to stop. Do you really expect Shelly Ann Fraser who is now in her late 30s and Elaine Thompson who has injury problems will continue to win all the time course not.
Must certainly agree wit this post not a hundred percent agree but there is a concern but the big 3 i believe fireWorks will start at JM trailers cuz they would be gunning to make the team espically Elaine....once there at peak form Shelly wud Surely bring the best out of Elaine n Shericka....dont count them out Yet...they Surely need to be in 10.6 form
Jamaica will always be a player, but the "big three" 21-22 era is almost over, if it isn't already, and a small country is bound to have its ups and downs. I think that at least one, and maybe more than one, of the big three will be ready to make an impression this year, but there is not yet a charismatic and consistent leader on the women's side to take over. Collegians Briana Lyston and Nickisha Pryce are probably the best bets. I've noticed that there's not as much of a discernable team vibe this year from Jamaican athletes, and there haven't been any particularly thrilling times run yet, but I expect a solid showing at the Olympics. However it may be a factor in relays, where a lot of countries sent their superstars to the Bahamas to run the baton around last month, and Jamaica didn't.
Ahem. Merlene Ottey gave way to VCB who gave way to SAFP, SJ, ETH. Anybody who counts out Jamaica WILL learn. We have ladies coming up as ALWAYS. Let's see if you are so sure AFTER Jamaican trials.
Over since last year.. n forget those lil kids that’s giving hopes… I’m talking about Alana, brianna, Clayton’s, n company, those kids are just giving false hope
If you want to write off jamaican female go a head you will see what champion are made of. come Paris. Shelly didn,t have 10 world chsmpionship medal for nothing, neither Elaine back to back olympic champion9:54 no joke,Sherika back to back 200 meter champion these are fastest woman on planet earth
this commentator is a clown non respectfully...how do make these idiotitic claims... 1. Shericka may have started off slow but all she is doing is rounding into jamaican champ shape to make the team then focus on turning it all the way up for paris and the 200 wR.... her coach is not looking for her to be explosive too early..... 2. Elaine - clearly was there at Pre for the money she has the best top end speed in the game and even stevie wonder can see she worked on her start and turned it off .... nyc grand prix is Sunday talk to me then 3 Shelly Ann--- is a trooper and the best to do it last yea she started her season late with 10:6's and still grabbed a medal at worlds... don't assume a knee injury is why she hasn't started her campaign .... again she is older more experience and a champ and her team knows what's best...... DONT SLEEP on the BIG 3 because if u do the joke will definitely be on you and this post
😂😂😂😂 Elaine don’t or sherika don’t have no record to break that’s flo jo .. and stop talking bout time once they start paying big bucks in track African American 🇺🇸 will takeover calm down
