Ok so the movie came out, you did not watch it, and are making assumptions based off of trailers and articles. That's a bit irresponsible, in my humble opinion. As someone who actually took the time to watch the movie, some of the assumptions that you are making are incorrect. You should consume the content and be informed, Instead of speaking from a position of ignorance. Again, just my opinion. Continued success to you man. Peace
@@ThespeedrapNo one city i worse than another; We should all pray for America. I'm from a small town and some of the things that have happened there would make Atlanta, and Chicago natives tremble. Sin is sin. EVIL must be stopped, amen? I'm sure some good people have loved ones living in Atlanta as well.
@@foreignidea5696 I do have family that live in Atlanta and I agree with you we need to pray for the entire world not just America because we're really going through some crazy times.
I came in thinking the same thing. He does try to mock God to gain notariaty but his conscious deep down he feels terrible about. By the end of the movie he believes in christ
There are plenty of stories in the Bible that would be AWESOME movies but no you got made up character to try to appeal to black people instead of Elijah Elisha and Gideon.
@@Thespeedrap right there are alot of stories to choose from in the bible. My issue isn't with black characters, but with the blasphemous nature of the movie. The bible have people of all color, and I would have been perfectly ok with watching them on the big screen.
I'll have to determine for myself because people are saying Clarence believes in Jesus at the end of the movie. He sounds simlar to Paul in that regard. A man lost in his sins until he found his faith in Jesus.
Me and my wife just seen it yesterday and that’s exactly what it’s about, I think these people running with a narrative and trying to get views off of them
I honestly cant even wrap my mind around WHY they thought this was necessary?? And then to call "us" out for supposedly not reading the Bible is DISGUSTING!! 😢😢
Its more sinister than that. Jayz and the director are in a cult called the 5 Percenters, in this movie they sneak references to the 5% theology and try to disguise it as a movie with Jesus. This movement was popular among black men in new york who had a leader called Clarence 13. He taught them that they are all gods. Pure nonsense
You missed the point of him walking on water. It was Jesus who gave him the ability to do so. Stop the hate. I’ve don’t remember people being so mad at The Passion Of Christ that got pretty creative, & even had to different endings.
Great content as always, but I think there's a major theme many are missing. This is a movie to promote the 5% Nation. Jay has been pushing their beliefs for a while. Even the name of the movie is an homage to their founder Clarence 13X. If you know anything about their beliefs like knowledge of self, it's clear that's the intention of the movie.
@@cocoalaux4495 what part talks about or shows five percent nation in this movie? I didn’t hear them calling the women “earths” in the movie. If you are talking about the Director (who is actually a Christian & brother of seal)& the main actor talking in interviews about seeing God within us all, then where is the issue it that? In the Bible it says that we are made in the “image of God.” It talks about the church being inside of us etc. We are taught to walk in the light of Jesus because he is the way, so are we all not the children of God? You cannot have it one way. How can God be our father but we are not his children? How can we be made in the image of god, yet have a problem with expressing that we are of God? This was a beautiful film, & I hope more people go & support it.
The hidden messages are blatant! It is heartbreaking that Christian magazines are even praising this movie produced by JayZ - a proven blasphemer, but as scripture tells us, "...it's no wonder, Satan transforms himself into an angel of light." WAKE UP church! Praying for all the lost, blind and decieved 🙏
Jay z isn’t the only producer, nore did he write the script, so what are you even talking about? Did you know that the Movie The Passion of Christ had “Jewish producers?” Did you consider that movie blasphemy because of that? Stop the hate & stop judging. The movie gives praise to the power of God, so it’s a great thing. And for the record the director himself is a Christian in faith, so stoooop already.
Stop the hate. It’s ungodly of you. Go be mad a “Jesus superstar” if you want to mad at a play or movie mocking Jesus, but this movie isn’t, so stop throwing stones!
Would love to see Kdub do a review on the Chosen by Angel Studios. Also would love to hear suggestions on good Christian movies, shows, cartoons, things for kids to read.
This is a great movie. Don’t judge it before you see it. (Proverbs 18:13 He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.) It’s not blasphemous.
@@Kdubtru Ive seen European Christians like this movie as well, it goes beyond Hebrew Israelites. Plus in the tanakh it says “Ye are gods” referring to Israelites Psalms 82:6, no problem there.
I'll say one more thing and then shut my trap lol The trailer by itself is blasphemous therefore the movie is blasphemous because the trailer is part of the movie. Why is this dude trying to separate this in the interview?
There are times that a movie trailer does not reflect the main plot or point of a movie. Many scripture can be taken out of context and applied to blasphemous points of view. The trailer shows disrespect to Jesus BUT from what I am reading (spoiler) Clarence gets saved at the end. More or less, this movie sounds like a man who learns his place and who Jesus is...
Its not- this person did not watch the movie he read a review and then is making assumptions this review is not about the movie~ he did not watch it and not what the movie is about I hate reviews from people who NEVER even watched the movie....
This movie may be what we are seeing today in the world with these false prophets. Just a thought when I listened to the description of the movie. Its a NO 4 me dawg. I will continue to read my bible. I do not need to see it on a movie screen jayZ gets none of my $
To honestly believe this movie is not blasphemous really blows my mind. People are really going to have a rude awakening when they stand before God and have to deal with their sins. They want to mock Jesus and talk about christian’s they will reap what they sow in the end.
Exactly!! It's also the arrogance for me in asking if we read our bibles!! Yes we do read our bibles...this is why we KNOW this movie is blasphemous and a mockery of Christianity.
The title of the movie should be "mockers of God". There is nothing holy to see here. Anoher form of of itching ears for those who want to create a following of another gospel.
I just watched it. There is a message from unbelief to faith which is good. However, there are some things that Clarence said and did that only Jesus said and did. It was fiction yes but blasphemous due to what was shown of Jesus. The movie was pretty much all over the place. Didn't know when to laugh or be in shock. It was blasphemous. Clarence is called the King. That's blasphemous.
@@delandomcwilliams5737 The thing’s Clarence did was through the power of god . Just like Peter also walked on water through the power of God. His friend said he was a king because of his sacrifice. It was not disrespectful of God but it is definitely misunderstood by some people.
@@merrickbeaufort8048 Exactly. Whats the main reason for being saved.... Believing that Jesus sacrificed His life. Clarence sacrificed his life by not telling them who the real Messiah is or where he was. I wasnt talking about the walk on water part. However, Clarence did say " Forgive them. For the know not what they do "
@@delandomcwilliams5737 I just streamed this movie and I'm very disappointed and skeptical just glad I didn't waste no money in watching it in theaters. What in the hell was going with the director and Jay-Z minds of thinking when coming to write this crap.
Thank you for covering this! The audacity of this guy to quote scripture in order to justify his "faith-based" film that glorifies a false messiah. Praying that people aren't deceived by his message, especially Black people.
@@Teriyaki32186 she didn’t, because if she did she would know that their is know glorification of a false Messiah, yet a coming to an understanding of the true Messiah. It’s about a con man who has found his way to the lord & has redeemed himself from the sins of faking that he was God, by believing in the true God by way of his son our lord & savior Jesus Christ.
@@bonbon-gl8qo I saw the movie and my response remains the same with some added observations. The film was extremely secular, idolizes self-enlightenment over repentance, mischaraterizes the disciples in a negative way, and reimagines biblical narratives in a way that's confusing. The very end of the movie, unfortunately, did not make up for all of the subliminal messaging that was embedded in the film. It comes down to this, Jeymes, LaKeith and Shawn are not Christians and they believe in an entirely different religion; their views have been strongly shared throughout this film. It's not Christian, it's something else disguising itself as a redemptive Christian story. Sorry, but I just didn't buy it.
I watched it and it's definitely blasphemous. For those saying he got saved my question is when? No one in the movie repented or was even told to do so. It's exactly what satan does. There is a lot of bad in this movie. Its cloaked by the emotional attachment that they create for black people.
So I saw the movie because I wanted to judge it for myself. Moving past equating Romans with Cops for a second, the actual story is about a man basically trying to use Jesus as a con AT FIRST but admitting HIMSELF eventually that he is NOT the Messiah and even declaring that Jesus is Lord. So where exactly is the blasphemy here?
Not saying Prince was an Angel but I don’t think he would have wanted them to use his song for this. He was really into Gospel so he at least had a respect for Christ.
Prince kept close watch over his work while alive. Not sure he gave permission prior to death for use of his song for this movie. Or anywhere else I've heard it used with more frequency since his passing.🤷🏽♀️
INCREDIBLE. THIS MOVIE TOOK ME OVER THE MOON IT WAS SO MIND BLOWNG. ALL THE EFFORTS THE DIRECTOR TOOK WITH THIS MOVIE WAS WORTH IT. AS FOR CLARENCE , HOW CAN YOU NOT LOVE CLARENCE? AMAZING. JUST AMAZING.
@@Kdubtru this movie is a perfect example of you can’t judge a book by its cover… who cares what “other” reviews say. Watch the movie and get your own opinion. Very corny 🌽 response
Y'all need to watch the full movie if you want a understanding. You can't just go based off of a trailer, but I do see where some opinions come into play.
Don’t some people in this time try to say that they are the messiah?… how is it blasphemy?… people lie about things all the time, but by the end of the movie he changed and believed….. aren’t their people who do wrong and then change? I dont get it
This World can't offer much for a good movie that talks about the truth because it loves lies and makes lies. The world gathers all people for destruction. This world itself is doomed to destruction. Christ is the only salvation of the world, do you believe in Christ ? 2 Corinthians 5:19 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 1:2 2 Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
The blood is on these folks hand which is simply why the UK dude was shuffling with his rebuttal. “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” - Galatians 6:7
Hi I watched the movie and I think people are misinterpreting the point of Clarence… he’s a HUMAN who doesn’t believe and thinks he can do what Jesus does but he finds out Jesus is who Jesus says he is… the point isn’t to mock Jesus but to see someone who lives in the moment and turns to a believer at the end. It’s not about championing Clarence I think that’s an odd perspective to take away from a movie you haven’t seen. The film is biblical it takes place in biblical times AND contains biblical stories. To see black people in a movie where NO blacks people are ever put in these times is fine with me it’s sad seeing so many blacks going against it and have not seen it. You have to read the Bible to understand “biblical perspective” and it’s clear the blasphemous people just go to church and don’t read the good book
@@Thespeedrap where was the mockery ? I have no problem with people being weary of the movie but if you watch the movie… it’s truly not blasphemous… and understand Jay only put up the money and provided musical help the movie was written by that time. I just feel like as Christians we are being very quick to judge. Like this is not a movie focusing on Jesus. And yet they still turn and become believers but hate it all you want I just disagree with the blasphemy claim. Like you really can’t say that without seeing the movie
@@swaggsauce2015I just don't like Jay-Z illuminati that guy claims he's GOD and now doing this you wonder what are his fruits is light or darkness at the end?
This movie should have never been made, but I'm glad it was so that Jay-Z and others can further show themselves for who they truly are, anti-Christ. Note: Egypt was evil, but the Israelites lived there until Moses. There are actual Christians who live in Atlanta too; Even though the representation and voices that are getting through (i.e. Tyler Perry, Fanni Willis, Jamal Bryant, and co.) are the ones that society is hearing the most, I don't think Atlanta is the only city that "needs to be stopped." Can we talk about Chicago, Los Angeles, Vegas, Dallas, NYC, etc? ...America as a WHOLE needs to stop and come to Christ. THE WORLD IS SINFUL! Let us not be even more divisive as Christians. Also, many superheroes are based on and stolen from some biblical characters: Samson/Hulk, Steven/Dr. strange, Elijah/Flash, and so on... I'm just saying.
That is some truths when this superhero bubble starts to break apart I want to do Black Biblical films myself if this movie fails we need a real Bible story done the right way.
This film from the director’s interview, the character he is speaking about sounds like Satan from the book of Isiah 14 when Lucifer wanted to be like the Most High. I totally disagree with the film and it goes against scripture. Jay-Z is definitely not of the Most High.
Simon the Sorcerer??? THAT'S the whole purpose of the movie! There were many false prophets during YAHSHUA'S day. You're mocking the exact environment of 1st Century C.E. You're not revealing anything that the director has made plainly about the movie. NOTHING in the movie mocked Yahshua (the actual name of the Messiah) except the use of "Jesus" but that's a historical linguistical lesson I would love to teach at a later time. BTW the historical BIBLICAL perspective IS BLACK!
Part of doing a review of a movie is actually watching it...... not checking out the trailer and then claiming to know what the movie is about that's just laziness man.
@@Kdubtru Again poor job. It's not about what other people say......Sorry excuse...... Because everyone says it doesn't make it right...... a review requires you to watch the movie!!!!!!!and to think I asked you to come on my podcast and you don't do your hw and your not genuine no thank you.
This guy's own interview actually self-owns the movie. His reason for making it and any sort of truth he thought that would be connected. And the crazy stereotypes right? Of course it had to be a black guy who's selling weed. I'm sure there's going to be all sorts of slang in the movie as well because you know somehow all black people can't speak proper English. You might even see a few people break dancing. I just don't see how anyone could be okay with this movie. I don't even see how quote" black people could even like this movie. It doesn't even represent that part right . And if he was so concerned about what the Bible says then wouldn't he base his movie off of that instead of taking it the opposite to what the Bible says?
Don’t listen to this Guy he doesn’t know what he’s talking about he probably didn’t even watch the Movie. It’s a Phenomenal movie go see it for yourself!
1. When you are too concerned about how Jesus looked you are taking away from the Gospel and what Jesus was sent here to do. 2. This movie is a beautiful and amazing example of false prophets, false Gods, etc. Everything we should stay far away from.
How many are trying to be depicted as “ the messiah”… but later on in the movie he changed…. It literally sound like a lot of humans in history period.
The movie is literally about Clarence's faith journey and was not blasphemy in any way. This movie proves that some of you black Christians can be the biggest snowflakes ❄️ 😂
6:18 bro the black perspective was the Ethiopian eunuchs who believed and was baptized or the man who helped Jesus take the cross to Calvary. Their version is not the black perspective!!
I'm not even Christian and I was offended by this movie. The miracle of Jesus was his love they basically turned him into the black version of neo from the matrix and I'm not even gonna start on what they did with Thomas
Hey man, I’m from Atlanta born in ‘93 when it was still the real ATL and love my city and the good ppl in it 😂😂😂, BUT INDEED we must be thwarted at all cost😂
Thats the problem with people, giving a opinion on something you haven't seen, now thats real blasphemy. I seen the movie and i suggest everyone go watch it for yourself. The film was phenomenal
Jesus is the God-Man. That, in and of itself gives Him an "otherness" that makes Him totally unique - unlike any other man. I get what they were trying to do... make Him "relatable..." but the Deity of the God-Man will not allow Him to be on our level outside of the cloak of human flesh. He is God in the flesh. Being cloaked in human flesh is the part that was necessary for our redemption according to the letter to the Hebrews and and many other Old Testament writings. Jesus was approachable, but not relatable. He will always and ever be separate and "other" in comparison with all other men born after Adam. "What manner of man is this?"
#1. the Bible says do not idol worship, hardcore Christians seem to have missed that part (the cross, Jesus statues & pictures).. that is the part that is blasphemy #2. the KJV of the Bible is Roman Christianity, not Hebrew Christianity #3. if you don't know why King James re-wrote the Bible, then you are the person King James re-wrote the Bible for
I would say this, the movie is blasphemous w/o a doubt. But I believe this review is a bit uninformed bc the movie actually reinforces the Christian faith to a certain extent. IMO the problem is the 5% value system is the hidden message, “the we’re all god” theme throughout. It’s also very sloppy in its messaging and seems confused about whether it wants to be a comedy, a religious film or social commentary.
@@Kdubtru I did say to a certain extent. I say that bc it never denies who Jesus is, but once you begin to intertwine the ideology of the producer and director you see the 5% framework around it and the blasphemy of that messaging in particular. Clarence even admits he’s a liar and false prophet
@@Kdubtru yeah that I don’t disagree with. My issue was you seemed to be implying that Clarence believed he was the Messiah and that was never the case.

You see. People who did not watch the movie should NOT BE MAKING REVIEWS! You are a legitimate hypocrite when you didn't see the movie. An say what you said. You are not only wrong but proving our point.
@@Kdubtru the only ideology they used was naming Clarence after the creator of the 5% and it’s confirmed that by Clarence wanted to be the 13th apostle. The other ideology is knowledge or belief. You didn’t watch the movie at all and you keep saying historical biblical times but it’s clearly fiction set in a biblical time , with fiction you can do whatever you want . The message at the end is Jesus is the messiah and Clarence along the course throughout the whole started to believe more and more
It actually isn't but most will judge it without watching. It was a good movie. Watch it before you judge it. God can use anyone or anything to lead people to Him🙏🏾
I feel like in all these movies about Jesus, His deity is always overshadowed by His human experience, but only both can present an accurate picture of who He is. I'm waiting for somebody to do the heavy hittas. Lol! When we gone get a movie where He gets transfigured... or the wilderness temptation scene... wooo! That woulda been one for the books. Lol! Who does the best green screen angels? Lol
The Jesus Film of 1978 actually includes both of those scenes. It's pretty much a direct adaptation of Luke's Gospel, and almost every line of dialogue is from the Bible. Unfortunately, they chose to only reference one of the four Gospels (Luke) when making the movie, without cross-referencing the other three Gospels to see what details they might have missed that would stick out like a sore thumb for people familiar with those Gospels if they were missing. For instance, Jesus never wears a crown of thorns because Luke didn't mention it. Those kinds of annoyances. Also, there was some executive meddling once the film was almost finished being produced, cutting it down from four hours to two hours, and refilming the entire birth of Jesus and the Good Samaritan scenes, making them less accurate (you can still find the original more accurate versions of those scenes online in the Visual Gospel Luke film, which uses the same footage as the Jesus film but with narration over the entire thing).
