I've had four consistent celebrity crushes for a long time: Judy Greer, Aubrey Plaza, Pagen Brewster and Amy Sedaris. How people can 'fall in love' with dullards like Jennifer Lopez and Julia Roberts is beyond me.

A lot of credit to Judy here. Dave was coasting through this interview, and she was doing most of the work to make it funny and entertaining.

Dave always preferred guests who could “bring it” in each appearance and this was her first time on the show. He was probably just giving her the opportunity to “wow” him. And I don’t perceive him as coasting in the least.

I don't think Letterman was "coasting"--Dave knew how to let his guests open up and be as entertaining as they could. Unlike almost every other talk show host, he never made it about himself.
